We visited this shop while traveling the Fruit Loop from Hood River not knowing quite whet to expect. I noticed the five star reviews on Yelp and decided it must be worth a pit stop along the way. Well, two vintage dresses and a scarf later and it was quickly one of my favorite stops along our thirty five mile loop through orchards and vineyards. From the minute we stepped inside, it felt like a place you'd want to hang out for awhile with a Mary Poppins record playing the classics (too fun!). This is a vintage treasure trove! The owner has impeccable taste- from dishes and decor to records and scarves, I had to keep myself from going overboard. I ended up purchasing two 60s-style retro dresses ($18 each) and a scarf. Note that you'll also find a small selection of homemade soda, kombucha and beer for sale here as well. A few of our other favorite stops along the Fruit Loop Trail included the Hood River Lavender Farm and The Gorge White House Fruit Stand and Winery. Enjoy your journey and add this stop to your itinerary!

This place has such charm & beauty. We stopped in and had a wonderful time browsing through all of the trinkets and sipping on some great made fresh milkshakes! Afterwards we went around and browsed the garden and picked our own flowers & made a beautiful bouquet. I really recommend you stop in, if not for the atmosphere then for an amazing milkshake !!!

Such a fun place! Not only did we find a Hull vase, which reminded us of our mom, the owner let us fill it with gorgeous flowers from her own garden. They are known for their soft serve ice cream so my sister tried the cherry flavor. Tillamook ice cream blended with fresh organic bing cherries. She said it was the best she'd ever had! I'm so glad we ventured off the beaten track to find this gem!

Huckleberry Soda and Marionberry soft serve on the way!

We had the best experience at The Old Trunk! We stopped in on a very hot day in July and got a homemade huckleberry soda and marionberry soft serve! Both were beyond delicious and just what we needed on a hot day :) I believe they said the flavors were seasonal - so you know everything is fresh! The couple that owns the shop were very friendly and told us about the area and gave us some tips on what to do while we were in town. Hidden gem and my favorite stop on the Fruit Loop!

    Cute store! Amazing stuff!

Excellent stop for our three kids to get a custom made ice cold soda. They even got to sit on saddle seats at the sofa bar.

They have plenty of outdoor seating for your little pups, though the water dish they left out was unattended to. As far as food, they had a whole plant-based menu to meet my vegan needs. More important, they were able to make a gluten-free sandwich for my partner with celiac. They took precautions to minimize cross-contact with gluten items, including wrapping the sandwich up separately and bringing it out to us first before bringing out our gluten containing items. The three in our group had mixed reviews on the food quality. I enjoyed my reuben very much. My partner and his mom thought their food was okay, and their portions were too small for the price. As far as the actual store goes, they carry a lot of what your typical natural foods store or food co-op would carry, though the prices seem more along the lines of what a Whole Foods would charge. For example, $3.50 for a single avocado. Considering that they are a small business in a somewhat touristy town, I guess that is a sound business decision. All in all, a good experience, just expect to pay a little more if you are going to shop or eat there!

This place has tons of them, basically all of their products, all on a table right in front of the store. Before even taking a step inside, I had basically filled myself with jams, butters, and pickles! We ended up only buying an empanada on this trip, although I was sorely tempted at filling my entire pantry with their jams and jellies, not to mention their pies... If only we had a cooler with us... Huckleberry Empanada ($6.50) - Their huckleberry jam is the best of the ones I've tried. Other places in Oregon, on the Fruit Loop and off, have a dried fruit kind of taste or lean musty in flavor. This one has full bodied huckleberry flavor that's quite fresh. It may be due to them using a different variety of huckleberry? Anyways, it's filled inside an expertly baked outer crust that holds the filling in well and adds some buttery crisp, pie crust like texture. I really enjoyed my visit to Packer Orchards & Bakery. Out of the 7 or 8 stops we made on the Fruit Loop, this, along with their farm location, ended up being my favorite by far.
