Love. From the minute we got to Savannah, people kept telling us we had to go to Savoy Society. At first, we didn't really get the hype because from the street it's very much giving strip mall vibes. But our hotel was down the street, so we kept passing by it... and every time, everyone outside looked hot, clean-cut, stylish, and very millennial. So eventually we were like okay... clearly something is going on here. The inside is casual and kind of quirky, but in a way that somehow totally works. Very 1950s. Loved the climbing monkey lamp. The bartenders were awesome. Super friendly, fun to talk to, and gave us great recommendations for the rest of our trip. They made us modified espresso martinis based on what we liked/didn't like and absolutely nailed it. Then I got a pickle martini with no vermouth and it was honestly one of the best martinis I've ever had. Like genuinely incredible. It's my new fav. Such a fun spot in downtown! Had walked by this place in the morning and made a point to stop by for dinner. Interior is vibrant and fresh. I would classify this as a fun bar that happens to serve a full menu. The menu is interesting. When my friends and I came for dinner, it happened to be a "Me Gusta Monday" which featured different bar snacks and Mexican-adjacent tapas. They also offer sandwiches and sliders (ham and cheese, veggie banh mi, capers, meatball, spam, pulled pork, and more). Drinks are awesome. I had the lonesome LA cowboy (sotol, chareau, cucumber, lemon). I also had the comfortably numb (mezcal, guava, orgeat, lime, and strawberry). Very unique! I came here for an after work get together and I was surprised to see where it's located. I've past this establishment multiple times in the past two years and never went in. Glad that changed. The location is has about 8 tables, and a full bar setting. The decor was nice and reminded me of an outdoor, thrift store, but everything fit together nicely. It was very busy with both larger tables and a full bar. The lighting is dim and the mood is CHILL. That being said the AC was on and it was cold outside, and let's just say the AC was COLD. The server was extremely sweet and patient with our group as most of us had not been there before. She recommended some drinks and we ordered several small plates. I got a "baby daddy" and they charge $2 extra for well liquor. It was a right up my alley. 10/10 for the drink. The pickled veggies were one of my personal faves and I enjoyed the spam slider. After walking by it several times during days out shopping or on a historical walking tour, the groovy interior caught our eye. Stopped in around 4:30 PM for an early dinner, place wasn't busy. We had eight people in our party. Everything was fine until they started bringing out our food. At first they brought out a couple quesadillas, about 5-10 minutes later they brought out a couple of sliders, about 10 minutes later they brought almost the rest of our food. Stopped here for drinks and an early dinner the one night we didn't have a restaurant reservation, based on a rec from a bartender we met, and it was one of my favorite hangouts in Savannah. Extremely casual vibe with different vinyls playing throughout the hour, a long bar and cozy sofas for seating options, and wide ranging menu with lots of small bites so you can make what you want of your meal. My friend got the crab quesadilla and I settled for the mini hot dogs (literally SO good) and the halloumi slider (one of my favorite things I ate in Savannah!) The bartenders were just lovely and guided you to good selections in the menu: I had a minty aperol spritz riff (Sprezzatura) and a fun Lambrusco. Whole thing felt inexpensive but so satisfying and such a relaxing, fun vibe! My friend and I went in to get food and drinks, as we have several times in the past and so we ordered drinks and the bartender asked for our ID's which we thought nothing of because we are both well over 21. She disappears for about 5 minutes and then comes back to proceed to tell us one of our ID's is fine but the other was not accepted. Keep in mind, we both have already gotten four year college degrees and are approaching 24 this year. I love savoy and it has always been one of my favorite go to places in Savannah but I was very disappointed with this experience. There were cops outside and I suggested going and getting them but the bartender was not willing to work with me on this. If you are going to work at a bar, you need to familiarize yourself with the differentiation between a fake ID and a real ID. Came here on a Saturday evening around 7:30 to grab cocktails with a friend. We sat at the bar as those were the only seats available where we could sit next to each other. I ordered a mezcal cocktail I can't remember the name of as my first drink, and it was delicious. My second drink was the "Shower me In luxury," and at first you would think there's no way that brown liquor and champagne would work, but it does. It was very strong, too. My friend got the "eyes without a face" and Spretzurra. I tried them both and they were both really good. If you don't like carrot, you wouldn't like the "eyes without a face", but if you do, delicious. It's like a spiked healthy juice hahaha. Music was a little loud so conversations inside were naturally loud as well. I do wish it was a little lower in volume, but overall, great place.
