My son flew in from California on an overnight flight. We chose the Omelette Shoppe to have breakfast at before an hour and a half drive home. As we are a restaurant and hospitality family we are always observing and watching what goes on in other businesses. Everything was spot on!! Our server Emma was our favorite server, anywhere, ever!! The service at this Omelette Shoppe was phenomenal. Emma went above and beyond for our group of 14 people. She was extremely kind, and had such amazing attention to detail, even with several in our group having dietary restrictions and 5 small children. I grew up in TC and haven't been back in years. My friends and I met up here in January on a snowy Sunday to catch up. The place still has the warm, welcoming Michigan vibes. German omlette was done well, fluffy and great fillings. The pumpkin pancakes had a pumpkin cream on top. Visited this restaurant back in January. I read multiple reviews about the place and decided to check it out. It reminds me of a old diner inside. We didn't have reservations and the wait was a bit long. The restaurant was packed to the brim which I always think is a good sign that the food is good. The food was good. The goat cheese omelette was amazing and the blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes were even better. 8:30AM on a Wednesday. Not too busy but our waitress was too busy to look at us once the order was placed. Coffee refill? No. Did the food come out hot? No - warmish. Did we have to ask for our bill at the front desk? Yes We were not the only table of hers receiving bad to no service. The "manager"? She was part of the problem. Some places didn't even answer the phone or have an online capability to get in line. The food was decent. I got the chipotle beef barbacoa. I wanted as a big a breakfast as possible before spending the day on a boat. Portion size was excellent. The omelette itself was just ok though. The chipotle hollandaise sauce it came drowned in wasn't as good as a regular hollandaise. And the avocados inside were not ripe, that kinda made this a less than stellar experience. Some got a breakfast wrap near us and it looks amazing. I don't usually review but I don't understand why they are only 3.5 stars. We WILL back for sure. It has often been my experience that local venues are the best venues, and the Omelette Shoppe did not disappoint. There are three locations in the Traverse City area. We visited the Front Street locale, which is at the end of a strip mall just south of the bay. Parking was tight, but we found a spot in the side lot. There was a short wait for a table, which I did not mind. I noticed that many locals were there - always a good sign. Everything was handicap accessible, and kids are welcome; dogs were not (except service dogs, of course). The ambience of the place is light, white, and sunny, with red accent decor. Once seated, our waitress was on top of things. She kept my coffee hot and made sure we had everything we needed. My daughter ordered a s'mores hot chocolate that came with actual fire roasted marshmallows and whipped cream, it was fantastic. I had my usual black coffee, and it was fine. The menu is comparable to a Bob Evan's or Dennys, but with some local embellishments, and it is my opinion that the food was a step up. I think the attribute is primarily to freshness, which is achieved by using local ingredients whenever possible. I ordered a farmer's skillet and pancakes. Everything was fine. The sausage in the skillet was more of a chopped link (as opposed to ground sausage), which is not my preference, but it didn't hurt the taste of my meal. My wife ordered an omelette and the kids had a variety of sweet pastries (pancakes, shortcakes, and French toast). Everything was good. For breakfast in the Grand Traverse area, I'm not sure you'll find a better restaurant. The Omelette Shoppe is better than their chain store competitors, and it's local, which is always a boon for everyone. I highly recommend that you give them a try. read more

It seems like that had water damage on the ceiling and never replaced but if you don't look up, then you'll be fine. Now lets get to the food - just about everything is $9 and up, so you should get something fancy. Lol! #YOLO I decided to go with blueberry/lemon pancakes - you really didn't need any syrup and it wasn't overly sweet neither. I did add a side of bacon but of everything taste better with BACON - drinks are $4.50 (at least the OJ) and i don't believe it's free refills because she never offered and i didn't ask. we were in town for my sons soccer tournament. I joined the line online. It first said 35-40 minutes wait. No problem. Then I got a ln alert that it would be 40 minutes. ok. We packed up at our hotel, and were loading the car. I got an alert that our table was ready and we had 5 minutes to get there. This was after 20 minute. I called and told the restaurant that were 10 minutes out, and that the time I was told from joining had only been 20 minutes. The gentleman told it was fine they would hold it. We got to the restaurant in 10 minutes and hostess said they gave our table away. I was shocked and said that I spoke to someone and they would hold it. This one is hard to rate. The service was dialed in, although there is usually a wait...We waited 15 minutes, which wasn't bad considering the popularity and lack of other breakfast places in the area. When we were seated, our server was right there with coffee, and within a few minutes was taking our order. Our food was delivered about 3/4 of a cup of coffee into our breakfast experience. (less than 20 minutes which is pretty good for how busy it was) I ordered The Farmer (omelet) and my wife ordered the Country Skillet. This was a lot of food! The one turn off is they roll the hash browns into the omelet. Speaking of, it looks like the eggs are cooked flat and then the ingredients are rolled in like a taco. A lot of restaurants do this, I just like it incorporated into the egg mixture. My wife liked her Skillet except for the large chunks of red pepper. Simple strip mall eatery that will tickle your taste buds! The lemon blueberry pancakes are amazing. Perfect lemon flavor, blueberries not overpowering and the ricotta is so smooth and creamy! My sisters loved the cinnamon toast French toast, they said it tasted just like a cinnamon roll and I agree! They were so full of yummy flavor. The atmosphere was pleasant local diner vibe. This was the BEST breakfast we have had in a while. I don't mind paying $15 a plate when it tastes this yummy. Eggs & meat tasted like a good quality and not nasty chewy meat. They offered strawberry stuffed pancakes but we stuffed our French toast in stead. The cream cheese topping was amazing. Seriously everything was delicious. My toddlers sat and stuffed their faces with us. They also gave cute little menus, crayons, wet wipes, and animal crackers for the kids in a baggie which I thought was brilliant. HOLY COW, this place! We came on the second of two weekends in TC and we were absolutely blown away! This little spot is incredible! In the midst of COVID, this spot as able to manage they guests with staggered seating and a much shorter wait time than anticipated. Once inside, we were greeted promptly and pleasantly.
