    Avocado Toast

This place is so cute! Very good vibes and friendly staff. Stopped here for brunch before heading out after spending the weekend in TC. We were sat right away around 10a and the menu has great variety. We got the avocado toast which has burrata, Belgian waffles, a side of bacon and a side of sausage. The portions were perfect, especially bc we were traveling (we don't like to take leftovers if we can help it). Definitely recommend and I would highly recommend coming here for a relaxing brunch!

    Ahi tuna, at the bar

The Ahi Tuna was perfection!!!! The Fish N Chips was close to that by just have a bit to much seasoning on the Chips, which over powered the fries. The kitchen was very fast on a busy night, busy time, and also there was a private event. The service was good even while sitting at the bar. The ambiance is fine with clean lines. The postcard with the receipt is a nice touch as that is not commonly seen. Fun Fact!!: There were pirates in Japan!

We were fortunate enough to eat at The Burrow for a private event, and everything was phenomenal. The pancakes, the hash browns, the huevos rancheros, the eggs benedict, and particularly the bacon. The staff were super on top of everything, and it was cool seeing everything being prepared by the kitchen. Big fan, super recommended!

    Mussels, came with bread

My husband and I are visiting from out of town came for dinner on our first night. I debated giving a 3 or 4 but based on food it's a 3. The food was just average. We got: -crab cake, slightly over-breaded and a little dry -mussels, pretty good! -steak frites, steak was good, fries were fine -wedge salad with steak, steak was wildly overcooked and barely edible (which is weird because the steak in the other dish was cooked perfectly), salad was fine just a normal wedge -partly cloudy NA cocktail, good! -lemonade, just okay The service was great, the restaurant was busy and the vibes were good which is why I debated giving a 4. It seems like a lot of locals like this place so it feels like it might be a popular spot and have quality food compared to other restaurants in TC.

We loved this place! First off, one of the few places that takes reservations for large parties in TC. Food was incredible across the board. We went during off season but it was easy to get in / out. Staff was accommodating in the big group.

Loved this spot for brunch. Across the road from Traverse Bay and has its own parking lot. Place is fresh and clean, brightly colored and light. Perfect ambiance for brunch. We bellied up to the bar and the tender was full of fresh energy. Very personable and made us feel excited to be there. We started with bloody Mary's and they were great! Also had a few on tap beers and a really good, not overly stuffed eggs and bacon breakfast. Perfect sized serving. Whole place just has a very good vibe and it starts your day off in a positive way. Would highly recommend this spot as it seems they have really set it up in one of the most perfect ways. My only gripe is the parking lot is a bit small, can be tough to park larger vehicles at prime time.

The Burrow is one of the premier brunch spots in TC and for good reason. The ambience is great for a weekend brunch and the service was friendly. The coffee was also solid, but the orange juice tasted like it came from a Minute Maid carton which was disappointing, considering it was $5 for a small glass. The Crab Cake benny was great. The eggs were perfectly poached, the sauces were tasty, the english Muffin was crispy, and the Crab cake had a good amount of crab in it. The Huevos Rancheros were also bursting with flavor and never got boring. Definitely a must try if you're in the area!

Delicious. Just all around delicious. The hash brown was the most delicious, and creative I've ever had. Perfectly cooked- crisp outside, perfectly seasoned. The steak was cooked perfect, and was complimented well by my over medium egg. I also highly suggest the blood orange mimosas- and expresso martinis, both superb. Plenty of seating, and partial views of the lake across the street. Attentive staff, and quick food delivery. Highly suggest!

I am on the fence about how I feel about Burrow. The resting beautiful and I felt a bit under dressed even though it was brunch. We were seated at a two top by the windows. Our server was not the friendliest. She seemed mad that we didn't order alcohol. Unfortunately they do not mark their menu with gluten free options and judging by our servers response, they don't seem to educate their waitstaff either. After a few trips to the kitchen our server was able to give me a few options. I ordered the open face omelet, it was quite good. Our server never checked on us and we waited awhile for our check. So food pretty good, service not so great.

We came here for brunch and we were not disappointed! The service was very professional and friendly and you can't beat the outdoor seating. My wife and I both got the huevos rancheros and me oh my it might be the best in the area! The also had some tasty looking cocktails The restaurant was very clean and there was plenty of space inside and outside. We will definitely be back!

We were at the kitchen counter and the head chef/owner talked to us a lot while he was at the pass finishing dishes. He was not overbearing, where it was annoying. He was very friendly. He asked a lot of questions and we returned the favor. He went around talking to other tables too. Besides him, the rest of the staff was very pleasant and accommodating, including the chefs doing the cooking! It was one of the best experiences I had in regard to the staff. I have included what I ate below. Everything was timed out well too. Our Bread ($8) - This was a cheddar bread with ranch butter. This was very good. It came out extremely warm. The ranch butter was light and paired perfectly with the soft inside and slight crisp on the outside of the bread. Cucumber ($16) - This came with salsa Macha, pickled jalapeno, and cilantro. This appeared extremely fresh. There was a slight kick from the jalapenos and/or salsa. It all went well together with one another. Ricotta Gnudi ($17) - This came with pea, basil, country ham, and Marcona almonds. The gnudi had an unreal texture. The almonds were a nice added touch for some crunch. I did not really think the ham was needed. Potato ($17) - This came in a brown-butter cheese sauce with shallots and pickled mushrooms. This was my favorite non dessert dish of the night. The cheese sauce was unreal with tons of flavors, while the pickled mushrooms combined with the crispy shallots made for a superb pairing. Fried Chicken ($16) - This came with two large chicken pieces with a white BBQ sauce. This was brined in Earl Grey tea. The skin was crispy as anything, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. It was moist with great color. The white BBQ sauce was one of the best sauces I had in a while. I do not have much experience with white BBQ sauces, but this was tremendous. The vinegar could really be tasted and paired well with the hot crispy skin of the chicken. Halibut ($47) - This came with white beans, chermoula, and black garlic. The halibut was cooked perfectly, and the chermoula was ideal with the slight crisp from the large beans. There was also a nice crunch from crispy brown rice it seemed like. Key Lime Pie ($16) - This was with a homemade graham crust, white chocolate, and a basil meringue. This was my favorite overall dish of the night. The crust was one of the best I ever had. It was so buttery and had a perfect thickness to the key lime filling. The little meringue pieces on top was an ideal topping. Will I go back? Obvious.

Tastebud perfection from first dish to dessert. Each dish was creative, perfectly balanced, with wonderful textural components. The asparagus was the best asparagus I've ever eaten. Spring in dessert form. Thanks to the wonderful chefs and server Amanda for a delightful anniversary dinner. We hope to be back next time we travel to Traverse City.

The atmosphere is warm, comfortable, and relaxed, making it the perfect place to slow down and enjoy a great meal. The service was outstanding from start to finish--attentive, friendly, and the kind of service that makes you feel like a valued guest without ever being overbearing. I ordered the Bone-In Tomahawk Pork Chop, served with balsamic-glazed Brussels sprouts with bacon and mashed potatoes, and it was one of the best meals I've had in Traverse City. The pork chop was absolutely massive. I ordered it medium, and it came out perfectly cooked--juicy, incredibly tender, and with very little fat. It was so tender I could almost cut it with my fork. Every bite was packed with flavor, and it was easily the star of the meal. The Brussels sprouts were exceptional. They had the perfect balance of sweetness with just a hint of bitterness, and once you mixed in the bacon... wow. They were phenomenal. I honestly wish I had taken a picture because the entire plate was huge. The portion size was incredible, and I left completely full. The mashed potatoes were good--nothing extraordinary on their own--but paired with the pork chop they rounded out the meal perfectly. I also ordered a side of the risotto, which was rich, creamy, and served piping hot. It was a little cheesier than I typically prefer, but it paired beautifully with the pork chop. Before my entrée, I ordered the seafood chowder, and it completely blew me away. I'm usually not a fan of onion or celery in soups, but this was hands down the best seafood chowder I've ever had. It was peppery, rich, and packed with incredible flavor. Honestly, I could have ordered a large bowl and called it dinner. It was that good. I would come back to West End Tavern just for the chowder. West End Tavern absolutely delivered. Between the exceptional service, generous portions, perfectly prepared food, and welcoming atmosphere, this was an outstanding dining experience. The seafood chowder alone is worth the visit, but the Bone-In Tomahawk Pork Chop is the dish I'll be thinking about for a long time. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Traverse City.

Mild breeze with Sunny shade triangles shimmering in the wind. Their draft system was down - sad as its Cherry Festival week. Had to settle for a bottle beer & the waiter seemed irritated when I requested a glass. Selected their Detroit Beef sandwich (code for a French Dip), hope the Au Jus isn't too salty. Truffle fries were boring - simply regular fries sprinkled with some pre-grated Parm & some Bay Seasoning. The Ladies all ordered a salad & needed to ask for different dressings. We passed up on Harrington's & Apache Trout Grille for this! 3 Stars only because of the view from their deck patio.

The restaurant is a house in downtown Traverse City. They only have space for 22 seats, and it was never full during our visit. It is intimate and welcoming. I made a reservation three months ahead, and obtained a seating for 8pm. We were welcomed warmly, and immediately seated. A complimentary mushroom broth "tea" was brought out. My friend who does not like mushrooms even enjoyed it. The service was perfect. Our server understood how to facilitate tasting courses, and the one very small misstep (under down steak for the member of our party that is pregnant, so it was not a being picky situation) was immediately handled without needing to be asked. The wine sommelier did a beautiful pairing. She offered the right level of presentation. Our group of four did the tasting menu. As they are farm to table, and the menu is constantly changing, it is not beneficial to discuss specific menu items. In the meantime, while watching the James Beard Awards, I noticed they were nominated within the same category as one of chef's from our hometown Cincinnati! The place is actually a house, and we were seated right next to the kitchen. Our server, Dillon, was great. We were happy that we both didn't have to order the tasting menu, so I had it, and my wife ordered a la carte (this is the first place we have been to that you can actually order whatever way you would like, nice!) The wine list isn't huge, but it is nice that the glasses are all the same price. As other reviewers said, there is a lot of staff for the 25 seats in the place. We were offered a pickled Amuse Bouche and a mushroom tea that we could have had every day. It was SO good. Here is what we ordered and what we thought; Starter - Smoke whitefish salad- very good and the fish was delicate and fresh. Loved. Gemelli pasta- they were absolutely fine substituting other cheese for the goat cheese, which we don't care for. We had one with blue cheese and one with parmesan. Both were great and the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. Whitefish with Tom Yum Vinaigrette - first time having whitefish and it was excellent. Flavors on point. Would order again and again. 5 course tasting - Cucumber Buttermilk Soup - light and earthy tasting, and very pretty! Gemelli pasta - see above New York Steak - didn't appear to be a strip. It was chewy and a little gamey. I had to pull gristle out of my mouth a lot. However, the chimichurri sauce was fantastic and the potatoes were buttery deliciousness. Grilled Turnips - unique flavors. I was getting full so I didn't eat all of it. Lemon Posset - perfect ending. Creamy and lovely. We had the pleasure to talk to chef Calvin because we were right next to the kitchen. He specifically talked to us about what cheese we would prefer on the gemelli, and then when I asked where he likes to eat in town, he suggested a few places. He checked in on us regularly throughout our meal, which really made the experience intimate and personal. He also made some browned butter for our excellent bread because we didn't care for the goat butter...nice touch. They are deserving of the kudos and award nominations they receive.
