The food quality here is great, the server made sure we had everything we needed but also made sure to not interrupt our meal if it wasn't necessary. This place has the old school lounge feel, definitely feels like a family establishment.

Went for dinner with 3 other couple tonight. Service was slow even though the place was not busy. Disappointing to see that the restaurant was not following COVID-19 rules by having people sign in and most of the staff were not wearing masks including the owner! We started out with appetizers, mussels and fried calamari. Both were pretty good but took forever to come. Main dishes ordered were the chicken voltini with a mushroom sauce. Chicken was very dry and not much flavour...portion size was small. Desserts were good. Would not go back...there are better places to eat at for less money.

    Pork tenderloin

Went for Father's Day and dined indoors. The ambiance of the place was very nice but the prices are so reasonable! We order a couple appetizers, the saffron cream mussels and the flavour of the sauce was so rich and delicious. The fried calamari was done perfectly! For entree we ordered the pork tenderloin, seafood risotto and butternut squash ravioli. The pork tenderloin we would give it a 7/10, seafood risotto 9/10 and the ravioli was 10/10! The ravioli had an amazing sauce. Overall the meal was delicious and the service was good. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

    Trash on the patio

1 star customer service 1 star food 2 star atmosphere Dry unseasoned meat platter Rigatoni that tastes like a teflon pan Service that thinks we can't afford a refill "I wish you told me sooner" when we said the food is horrid And they comp us with one desert. One. Edit: they saw me writing the review and gave us two slices of cheese cake. Literally the best food served here as it's not made in house. Also "can you put it in the basket so I don't have to touch it" when cleaning our table. Edit: Our waitress was Michelle and I just noticed on the way back in from the car that the entire property is dirty and coated with trash. Also when our friend said "I wish you told me sooner" in regard to the lack of tap to pay, she told us "How would I have known?" In a mocking manner.

This is one of my favourite Italian eatery. There are two sides to Open Cork, there is the dine in and then the lounge in the other room. I've only been to the eatery side and it's beautiful. Food was amazing as usual. I had the jambalaya, mussels, and fried calamari. Jambalaya - Pasta is cooked Al Dante, sauce was flavourful and they don't skimp on their protein. Mussels - tasted great, sauce very yummy and can use it as dipping sauce for bread. Fried Calamari - I always make sure I get the fried calamari when I'm here. It has a nice light crunch from the batter and I like the thickness of them. Looking forward to dropping by the lounge area next time I come by.

Ordinary Italian fare, everything was good but not memorable, service was ok, food was plain, nothing stood out to me.

My normal eating and drinking areas are Junction, Queen West and Bloor West so this was quite the culture shock ! A very large space in the 905 with patio and many rooms inside. Has a cruise ship vibe actually. The 80's Euro theme runs as deep as the ocean. Without irony. Men's shirts are unbuttoned further than normal, ladies sure love their make up and helmet hair abounds on both sides of the gender fence. But their customer base is non judgemental which is fine for Mississauga. Service was cheerful and the customers seemed to be enjoying themselves without a Hipster in sight. I had the escargots and my friend had the calamari, both smothered in a strange and gas inducing tomato stew. Huge portions. The house wine was fine, although pitched as red or white. Besides feeling like a fish out of water I would return for a main course as the apps were bizarre.

Linguine of the Sea in a Rosé sauce

This is probably my favourite Italian eatery. We ordered the Linguine of the Sea and Fettucine Sea and Land. We ordered both in a rosé sauce. The pasta was light and delicious. The sauce was flavourful and the seafood was fresh. Overall a very appealing place from good decor to courteous staff and great food. Definitely going back!

Open Cork is a Mississauga icon. It has been open for many many years and continues to please foodies over and over again. It had been many years since I have visited Open Cork and was before I became a Yelper. My last visit to Open Cork happened to be my last restaurant visit before the Covid 19 social distancing rules. Let me tell you am I ever glad that Open Cork is where we chose. Not only was is the last dinner before Covid but it just happened to be an all out evening. We started the evening with the fried calamari as an app. They were fried to perfection and the portion was more than enough for 4 of us to share. Two of us wanted meat and two of us were craving seafood so it only made sense to order the meat platter for 2 and the seafood platter for 2. While we were waiting for this to be prepared we realized that we came to Open Cork and will not be trying their pasta dishes. So of course we ordered a plate of Penne a la Vodka for the 4 of use to share. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. The platters for 2 was more like a platter for 4. The plates were loaded with seafood and meat enough to feed us for a few days. Then came the Penne. We were stuffed. The meat and the seafood platters were perfect. Huge portions, cooked well and great variety of different meats and seafood. The Penne a la Vodka was a little different than the traditional way of making it yet very tasty and I would order it again. In the end all 4 of us rolled out of the Open Cork but the best part was we had plenty of left overs for a few days. Open Cork continues to please and I will be visiting very soon.

    Stuffed mushrooms and bruschetta
    L S.

Very nice decor with friendly staff. My sister and I enjoyed a bottle of wine that was reasonably priced along with bruschetta and stuffed mushrooms for appetizer. Bruschetta was delicious but stuffed mushroom need to be reworked. The cream cheese was odd tasting. Entree was seafood risotto and chicken Gorgonzola pasta. Both were really good. Large portions and had plenty of left overs, which made a great lunch the next day. Recommend!

The Open Cork is located at the north east intersection of Southcreek Rd and Dundas St E in Mississauga, just west of the 427 and Etobicoke Creek. This restaurant has been here on Dundas for quite some time. While I've seen businesses come and go along this street of Dundas between 427 and Dixie, The Open Cork is one of the few places that has been here for what seems to be decades if that. While it's been years since we've been, we recently went for a small private room banquet get together. The space we had was appropriate and closed off but well lit with enough space that we didn't feel squeezed in. The place itself has a modern upscale feel to it as the décor and furnishings make it feel quite modern. The bar, interior dining areas are intimately lit while the outdoor patio would be also be a good choice for dining if the weather would be agreeable. Basically as far as ambiance this place is a nice, formal type setting. The food was also quite good and the service was professional. I had the chicken while my wife had asked for the salmon. Being that this place is an Italian restaurant we only had a few options as our selections for the reception (pre-selected menu choices) but it was still good.

We ordered the "Peri Peri Shrimps" and "Momo Medley" for appetizers, "Sizzling Beef Short Ribs" and "Arcadian Stuffed Chicken" for main, along with a "Pineapple Blast" and a "Mojito". Everything was fresh and flavourful. The Sizzling Beef Short Ribs were tender and served hot, the Momo Medley was a fun appetizer to share, and both drinks were refreshing. We really enjoyed how we were able to relax and take our time to enjoy the food, music and the vibes. The staff were very friendly and helpful and never made us feel rushed.

Our adventure started before we even sat down. A gentleman came in to pick up his takeout order, and the lady behind the counter appeared to be sitting on his food bag. He wasn't too happy about it, and she kept insisting she wasn't sitting on it, just very, very close to it. At that point I thought, "Well... this evening is going to be interesting." Then, as soon as you walk in, the first thing that greets you isn't the music or the beautiful decor... it's the smell from the bathrooms. We looked at each other, laughed, and decided not to test our luck by going in there. The lounge was almost empty when we arrived around 11:00 p.m. on a weekday. My sister has a fractured back, so we politely asked if we could sit at one of the many larger tables. The waitress kept saying those tables were for big groups. We looked around at all the empty tables and thought maybe the big groups were just running fashionably late. She eventually let us sit there, saying we'd have to move if a large group arrived. I told her that was completely fine. Spoiler alert... we never had to move. Now, the hookah. I ordered my usual double apple, and my niece ordered the same flavor she orders everywhere we go. Somehow, both arrived tasting like... perfume. The gentleman who said he was the manager was wonderful. He replaced both hookahs right away, but unfortunately the new ones tasted exactly the same. My niece finally gave up and returned hers. When he asked about mine, I told him it still tasted like I was smoking perfume instead of shisha. He actually tried it himself, agreed something wasn't right, and kindly removed both hookahs and one of the drinks from our bill. That level of customer service was genuinely appreciated. I only tried the drinks and cheesecake, and I have to give them credit where it's due the presentation of the drinks was beautiful. They arrived on a tray with dry ice creating a rolling smoke effect and a little bonsai-style tree. It looked elegant, unique, and definitely got everyone's attention. My traditional virgin mojito was actually delicious. My sister's virgin strawberry margarita, however, seemed to be having a little identity crisis. We kept looking for the strawberry, but it never introduced itself. As for the cheesecake... it was okay. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing that made me say, "Wow, I need to come back for another slice." This place honestly has so much potential. The lounge is beautiful, and you can tell someone put a lot of effort into creating the space. I think with better quality maasal and someone who really knows hookah, this place could become a favorite. As a Middle Eastern customer, I know how serious people are about shisha, and with a few improvements, I think they'd have people coming back for both the atmosphere and the experience. The funny part? After we got home, I started reading the reviews online and was genuinely surprised by how many people had experiences similar to ours. Apparently, we weren't the only ones! And finally... thank you, ChatGPT, for recommending this place. I guess even AI has an off day once in a while. Would I come back? Maybe. I'm a big believer in second chances... just not third chances for perfume-flavored hookah. The lounge itself is gorgeous, and the manager genuinely did everything he could to make things right, which I really appreciated. I truly hope they make a few improvements because this place has all the ingredients to become an amazing spot. I'd honestly love to update this review one day and give them five stars.
