Very trendy bar / lounge restaurant downtown TO. Place isn't big but has a few tables for smaller parties but has plenty of bar seats. Inside decor is very warm and a perfect environment for a late night snack or drink. We ordered various dishes including Beef and Veggie Dumplings, Popcorn Chicken, Cold Spicy Noodles and Takoyaki. All dishes were very good. Dumplings were very tasty and not overly steamed. Typically not a huge fan of Takoyaki but this one was delicious. For once it wasn't just mushy but had solid texture with actual solid pieces of chewable squid. The signature gotta be there drink menu. Good selection of very unique custom cocktails that taste great and beautiful for pictures. Staff was cool and overall experience was more then expected. Good place for a relaxing chilled evening for drinks and snacks.

This cute restaurant/bar is nicely decorated and the owner Michael was very welcoming. We were so happy that we finally had the opportunity to try the food here, and was definitely impressed. The menu is not massive, but there is a good selection of food, even for different dietary restrictions (vegetarian). The food we tried were the following; Peanuts- delicious, fried, and just the right amount of spice. ⁣ Edamame- soy pea pods⁣ ⁣ Opium fried chicken- black and slightly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside.⁣ ⁣ Beef & veggie dumplings- juicy and delicious, with an amazing dipping sauce⁣ ⁣ Hiyayakko- silken tofu with a delicious sauce ⁣ ⁣ & refreshing lychee and mango drinks⁣ ⁣ Overall, everything was delicious and we will definitely be back to try other things!

I had a great night out at The Opium Bar! Between their beautiful interior decor, delicious drinks and snacks- it's a bar you can get comfy in. It's funny because I originally came for the drinks and cocktails (which did not disappoint!) But what I fell in love with was their freshly made Shrimp Chips. We also had a second order of their Takoyaki because of just how good it was. They both paired well with my favorite cocktail, the Smoky Sakura- and they all looked even better in photo, lol. The Opium Bar is definitely my pick for a great bar that will look amazing on your Instagram!

$5 "pints" speak for the themselves. Please don't advertise this as a pint, it's false advertising. Let's be nice people here...

4.5/5! Drinks, service, and food was delicious. My favorite was the opium fried chicken- so juicy and flavorful!! The presentation is also so unique as it's totally black! The takoyaki, tofu, grilled octopus was also delicious.

Hidden gem you won't want to miss! The Opium Bar was actually a place we found by a accident, later at night, after the kitchen was closed at the first place we went to. First perk of the night... parking is FREE here after 9pm! For us as visitors to Toronto, the constant parking fees get old quickly so this was much appreciated. Walked in and the owner, Mike, was manning the bar. He was super friendly and helpful with food and drink suggestions and even gave us tips on other places to try during our stay here. The ambiance inside the Opium Bar is really nice. Warm and inviting for grabbing a bite solo but also stylish enough for date night. Service is great, so you can rest assured you will be taken care of. The food and the drinks are VERY good. If you like Asian food, you'll love this place. You will find a lot of dishes here that small plate style, so you're able to sample several. The menu separates them by portion size...small, medium, large. We had the ebi mayo (large prawns, battered, with a sweet and slightly spicy mayo drizzle), the braised beef dumplings (savory with a great dipping sauce), and the BBQ octopus (smokey and a little spicy, great texture). We paired this with a blonde beer at Mike's suggestion and a 'honeydew' cocktail (tastes exactly as advertised, like honeydew ice cream---HIGHLY recommend if you have high standards for your cocktails). I'm so glad we found the Opium Bar! This little place recently opened and given the food, ambiance, and service, I see them blowing up in a big way in the near future.

What intrigued about this place was the Opium Fried Chicken which was made with activated charcoal which blackened the chicken. It was cool for the gram but the taste wasn't anything special as it tasted like any other the Taiwanese fried chicken. However, we did get the soup dumplings which was very tasty but be careful they are very juicy. We got a few cocktails too and they were decent, I suggest the one with Lychee if you are into sweeter cocktails and try The Opium which is a cocktail made with activated charcoal and turns its black. Again, good for the gram. We are got around 6:30 PM and they were just opening so it was pretty cool to have the place to ourselves and chat with the bartender. She was very courteous. A large group came in after us and they put the Raptors game on so I guess this could be a place for Game Night if you are into that.

I like the concept of this bar. This is an Asian bar, their drinks name are really creative and tasty. Especially the rose one, really pretty. Located on Dundas West. This is a perfect place to catch up with friends after work or night to chill. They also have snacks like Taiwanese popcorn chicken and fried dumplings.

Impeccable. The staff was genuinely kind and attentive without being overbearing. I felt welcomed from the second I walked through the door. I ordered the Avocado Salmon Toast paired with the beautifully pink and perfectly named Pink Flamingo drink. My friend went for the Sweet Berry Waffle and a classic lemonade. Let me just say--the flavors did not disappoint. The salmon was fresh, creamy avocado was piled high, and the toppings were thoughtfully layered. My only tiny critique (and I say this with love): the toast itself was a little too crispy for my liking. It made the dish a bit tricky to cut into, and the texture leaned dry. Next time, I'll definitely ask for it untoasted or lightly toasted. A softer base would really let those flavors shine without the crunch competing. Now let's talk about that Pink Flamingo--WOW. It was tropical, sweet, and honestly gave me vacation-in-a-glass vibes. I almost ordered a second, but adulting (and budgeting) called me back to reality. That said, it's worth every sip! I snuck a few bites from my friend's Sweet Berry waffles, and yep--I'm getting that next time!! Light, fruity, tasty!! I can't wait to come back and try more from the menu. Who knows, maybe next time I'll get to sample a few more dishes Seriously though--support local and give this place a try. You'll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit.

Must try is the Costa Rican coffee served in a traditional manner. Next must try is their empanadas! Housemade and the dough is phenomenal. Filling we tried was beef.

Found this cocktail bar through a friend and immediately made a reservation after seeing the menu…read more The ingredients are complex but intentional, with East Asian influences. I found myself wanting to try most of the cocktails, which is a rarity. We got the Strawberry Tetsu to start (inspired by Uncle Tetsu's Japanese cheesecake), along with the Cloudy Oolong (tea-based cocktail with a salted caramel cheese foam). The Strawberry Tetsu tasted like a dessert and was delicious, with a graham cracker crumble rim. The Cloudy Oolong had a strong tea taste which I loved, as sometimes the tea can get lost in a cocktail. The foam on top was addicting and paired nicely with it, similar to a bubble tea. Next, I had the Burnt Yuzu which was light and refreshing from the citrus. The bar is hidden behind Misfit Ice Cream, with a speakeasy vibe to the interior. Large windows line one wall with a view to the exterior, but are tinted enough that people walking by cannot see in. Service was great, although they do have a strict 1 hr 45 min time limit for seating, regardless of whether the bar is packed or not.

We walked up to an unassuming entrance that is part of the experience, and once inside, the atmosphere shifts completely. The space is intimate and cozy with dim lighting, comfortable seating, and a relaxed speakeasy vibe that makes it easy to settle in for a couple of drinks. The transition from the street to the interior feels deliberate, and the low-key energy of the room encourages lingering. The cocktail menu leans heavily into Asian-inspired flavors, and that is what makes it stand out. Every drink feels thoughtfully developed rather than relying on presentation alone. We tried the Cloudy Oolong, which was especially memorable with its rich tea flavor and creamy cheese foam that added a savory depth to the cocktail. The Strawberry Tetsu offered a dessert-like profile without becoming overly sweet, balancing fruit and tea notes in a way that felt refined and well composed. Each cocktail arrived beautifully presented and balanced, making it easy to appreciate the amount of care that goes into every glass. The menu is creative without being gimmicky, and the flavors are well integrated, with each drink offering something distinct. The staff were welcoming and happy to explain the menu or offer recommendations if you are unsure what to order. They guided us through the flavor profiles and offered thoughtful suggestions based on our preferences. Service felt attentive without being overbearing, and the overall pace made it a great place to relax rather than rush through a drink. The team checked in at the right moments and kept the experience feeling personal and unhurried. If you are looking for a cocktail bar that offers something different from the usual classics, After Seven delivers a memorable experience. Between the hidden entrance, intimate setting, and creative drinks, it is the kind of place that is easy to recommend whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for one of Toronto's more unique bars. The balance of atmosphere, craftsmanship, and service makes it a standout in the city's cocktail scene.
