Friendly guys behind the counter! Originally from NY and have been living in Seattle area for a decade. Whenever I travel to the east coast I'm always on the lookout for good pizza (can't be found on west coast, sorry everyone). My hotel was near NY pizza and stopped in for lunch. Grabbed a couple slices of cheese (I only do cheese when trying a place out, toppings just disguise the pizza ), one NY style slice and one Sicilian slice. I loved them both. The dough was airy and had a great crunch to it, perfect amount of cheese to sauce ratio and very tasty sauce. I love this pizza! I stop in for a slice every now and then, but this time I had a few 5th graders graduating and picked up a whole pie and some cheese sticks. It was hot, fresh and as delicious as always. The kids really liked everything (especially the cheese sticks!) and there was plenty for everyone. Their prices are very reasonable and everyone is always friendly when you stop in to see them. Tucked away in the Bass Pro shopping center it could be easy to miss but make sure you find it to enjoy the fresh ingredients and quality NY style pizza! read more

Two of us stopped in for a late lunch, but they were still busy and continued to be while we were there. Obviously a popular place for both take out and dine in. Dine in area was clean enough, small tables throughout. No booths. Not much "atmosphere" but it was ok. I grabbed a menu stating that we were both first time guests. No response at all from the guy at the register. No greeting, no offer of assistance, nothing. Oh well.... Ordered a slice of pepperoni, a slice with meatball and two drinks. There was a small board with specials, but I did not see it until after I ordered. On line, it says the special is two slices and a drink, but not knowing that, I ordered just one slice. The slices were smaller than I expected, but still a decent size and the reason this review is a 4 instead of a 3. The crust was awesome, the sauce was good and the cheese was a good quality. Served quickly and hot, so that's always a plus. It's serve yourself drinks and they do have brewed tea, so that also kept this from being a 3. I will go back and try a small pizza next time. I saw one of the special "sandwiches" they make and it seemed very small, so I will not try one of those as I had planned. They are open 7 days a week, so that is a plus and there is plenty of parking. There are also a few tables outside. Just hope the customer service is better next time...maybe the guy could not talk...not sure. read more

We are all entitled to our own opinions, right? Well here's mine: Parking: 3 Location: 3 Decor/ambiance: 2 Customer Service: 3 Decent location... kinda tucked in a shopping center. The only reason I found it was because I did a search for Pizza along 40highway and it popped up on my calendar. It sits right on the other side of the areas hottest chicken spot so the traffic over there is crunk! I was excited to try this place... simply because I was hungry. I asked the guy working about the the "Stealz" app that they were advertising on the window and his answer was " I don't know, I just started back working here a couple weeks ago". So with that being said I rant to the car to grab something and came back to order where I got a young lady at the counter. I asked her about there Sicilian pizza. Once she told me what it was I quickly said no let me get two regular cheese pizza slices. I didn't realize it but she rung me up for the Sicilian pizzas and I didn't want those. So, my order was not what I asked for. No biggie...i still took it and sat down to eat it because I was hungry. I will admit that the food just wasn't popping for me. I wasn't impressed at all. Super blan bready pizza with no taste. The garlic knots were just as bad. 2 Stars because they had good drinks in the fountain. read more

In the area, checked out Yelp reviews and decided to stop in. There was 2 slices of plain cheese on display and half of a Sicilian Pan pizza. I asked the cashier if there were pizzas in the oven since there was not much to choose from. Cashier stated they would reheat the display pizza and add our toppings. We decided to give it a try. A little disappointed since the pizza tasted just as the cashier described- heated up pizza with toppings. The food was disappointing. Customers would come in and walk out since there weren't any pizza option. A family walked in and the cashier aka pizza maker seemed upset he had to make a new pizza. He was trying to sell the half pizza. Won't be back. They really need to fill their pizza display with more pizzas considering they sell either pizza, wings or salads. read more

NY Pizza in Cary has been making true NY style quality pizza consistently since I've been going there 10+ years.. I have never been disappointed, the pizza is always delicious. We are not talking "Gourmet, Brick Oven Pizza" that costs a fortune. They deliver Reliable Neapolitan, thin crust pies. Any combination of toppings are made with fresh ingredients. I debated on the rating because there are good and not good things experienced. I opted to be more generous versus more critical. 3.5 would be true rating. The positive is they are very fast with delivery compared to other places. The ingredients are good quality. Salads are nice and they're generous with dressing. Usually the amount of toppings is good but we had a few times in recent months where things were skimpy, to the extent I started ordering double toppings. On this occasion they were back to being generous so double meatballs was overkill. We find the veggy toppings are barely cooked but if you ask for the pizza more done the crust is too done. Favorites are meatball parmesan and ham and pineapple. Husband always gets pepperoni and mushroom. Their wings are pretty good, 7 out of 10 according to wing connoisseur husband. They do have a reward program so you earned $10 off after you spend so much and they periodically send me a we miss you $5 off or free garlic knots offers. read more

My dad grew up in New Jersey, and when my parents came to Durham to help us move, he said he wanted pizza. "Not Pizza Hut," he said, "actual New York style pizza." It was the 4th of July weekend and, oddly enough, a lot of the pizza places we found on Yelp were closed, so we wound up here. There were 5 of us, and we ordered two large pizzas; one with half beef (the only way Dad will eat pizza) and half pepperoni, and the other cheese. Mom's root beer was flat, but the other sodas were fine. The pizza here is pretty solid. The crust was on the soft side for my taste, and the sauce was both a little underseasoned and slightly skimpy, but overall it was a good pie. We finished off both pizzas, and Dad declared them "decent". I'll keep looking for great pizza closer to home, but I certainly wouldn't mind eating here again. read more

NY Pizza is one of my favorite places to eat in the area. I've had their regular pizza, stuffed crust pizza, calzones, garlic knots and chicken wings. And all of them have been tasty and I highly recommend them. Now be warned that despite the name, they don't really make genuine NY style pizza. (Shocking, I know). Real NY pizza should have a thin, almost crackery crust. A thin layer of cheese and sauce. Greasy, but not too greasy. The pizza here is more of the family style pizza you get when you go out to a restaurant. It's got a thicker, softer crust. There's definitely more oil and toppings so the pizza sags. Don't get me wrong, these are good things and make the pizza tasty. But it's not genuine NY style pizza. I don't quite get the difference between their stuffed crust pizzas and their calzones, as they look and taste the same. I was hoping their stuffed crust pizza would be more like awesome Chicago Style pizza from Giordano's in Chicago, or Zachary's in SF. Or heck even Pizzeria Uno. But no, they're basically bigger calzones. So for you Chicago style/stuffed crust pizza lovers like me, NY Pizza will NOT work for you. But they still make really tasty, non-genuine NY-style pizza. They don't ever seem to be crowded (unfortunately), but that means you rarely wait long. And their staff is very friendly. read more

This is great pizza. Straightforward, traditional, NY slice. Thin, crispy, slight chew, not too much sauce and just the right amount of cheese. Additionally, the guy knows how to serve the slice-back in the oven for just a minute or so. Most operators try to re-cook the slice and serve it to you scorching hot. Hello! I come for a slice because I actually want to eat the thing now-that's the whole point of the slice game! I always end up getting a second slice because the pizza is correct. Tried this location again months later and had it delivered. I will say overall the pizza's were better. The garlic knots were much better. While I don't love the pizza here its pretty good, local and delivers. They get one star because in the time it took me to get my pizza slices I had to listen to the anti-masker staff member tell a tale of how he got his car impounded. Turns out the car got impounded, but he wasn't going to be able to get it back because he has a DUI, and got his license taken away. Well, this fine gentleman said "f*ck the fact that I'm a danger to society and the state took my licence away for others safety, I have an old Florida driver's license." Presented that, got his car back, and was bragging to his coworker. Between that and the masklessness getting food here wasn't a great time. read more
