I stopped in after passing this place many times. The girl behind the counter is the nicest person in the world and makes this establishment. I ordered 3 slices, 2 Sausage and 1 meatball. In Raleigh for graduation weekend for my oldest daughter. It was getting late and we were hungry and we love trying "new to us" places and my daughter chose Primo Pizza. Typical pizza shop menu, decent size eat-in area as well and it was clean. Great aroma of pizza when you walk in. Several folks came in for to-go orders while we were there. We walked to the counter and ordered an 18-inch pepperoni and three fountain drinks. $25 not bad! The staff was friendly and efficient. We had a seat at a table. The pizza arrived looking like it was from a commercial. Absolutely beautiful. It was a little greasy on top but nothing a few napkins couldn't deal with. The slices were huge as you would expect from such a big pizza. The pizza was hand-tossed. It was baked to perfection with brown bubbles on the crust and a golden brown bake underneath. The cheese and pepperoni were plentiful. The taste was wonderful. A very good pizza. Definitely will be going back. Good pizza is hard to find. This place is a keeper. read more

But I tried to pin it down to something inparticular but I couldn't, im thinking maybe bad vegetables, but either way Im sick and my stomach is still hurting. hands down the best pizza in the triangle!!! as soon as you pick it up and get in your car with it, you can tell it's a true NYC pizza! I am originally from up north and this is the only place I've found that comes anywhere near true NY pizza. I know people will read this and immediately become skeptical, but before making that judgement.... give them a try!! you will not be disappointed. read more

So we had a delivery to our hotel while visiting the area. PLEASE keep in mind I grew up & live in NJ 10 minutes outside of NYC. I have eaten in my lifetime some of the best traditional NY style pizza in the country. So I am rating Primo as a NC pizzeria, not to be compared to NJ\NY. The pizza ( did half plain \ half with sausage was OK, not bad. Definitely worth a shot if you are in the mood. We also ordered a Greek salad which was a good size, very fresh, and full of all the ingredients to make it a true Greek salad (olives, feta, pepperincini) We ate very bit. read more

Got a 14 incher with tomato and bacon on one side, sausage and mushroom on the other. The pizza came out in about 10 minutes. It had a good thin crust with some chew on it. Flavorful sauce, proper proportion of crust to sauce to cheese to toppings. For beverages, they have Pepsi products on fountain, or you can go with one of a large variety of cans in the fridge. My complaint would be the staff wasn't overly engaging or welcoming, always remember a smile goes a long way. read more

Best pizza I've had in a few years. The amount of sauce on this is perfect and the flavor is really good! Ooo and the crust isperfectly crisp. I've been in a few times to get a single slice and I've never disappointed. This is my first time ordering a full pie and they are still on a perfect streak. They said 20-25 minutes and it was ready on time, the service was fine. I definitely will be ordering again. read more

Good and tasty! Some quality basic football New York pizza. The cheese on the pizza has that gooey stretch and the crust has that sweet crunch. It's definitely consistent and fairly priced. Their Stromboli's are pretty good and I have yet to try the pasta but it also looks good. Primo has been my go-to for awhile now and I'm glad to see that they've still got it. read more

Here is another fabulous local restaurant in Cary that has a drive thru window to pick up an excellent NY style pizza! I always get the supreme as they have great toppings! I'm years late writing this review. I have been going to this place since it opened. The owner is amazing and hilarious, the staff is right there with him, always smiling, laughing, joking (even through the masks you can see their eyes smile!)... However, the food is still the star!! If you haven't had Primo Pizza you're missing out!! Truly the best NY pizza I've had outside of Brooklyn, plus you can't beat the price. I HIGHLY recommend: 1) ANY PIZZA. To be honest, I go with cheese, because when the pizza is perfect, that's all you really need. Sometimes extra cheese. 2) The appetizer meatballs are the bomb! I'm serious, try these, thank me later. 3) The pastas are also delicious ! They give you enough sauce, al dente pasta (not too soft, not too hard, goldilocks style, just right!) and garlic knots, yummy! 4) The CANNOLI!! OMG, they do it right, fill the shell fresh and all. A nice friendly establishment in Cary. Everyone from the customers to the staff were all friendly and amiable. I noticed they have a deal for each day of the week which is pretty cool. I just wanted some good pepperoni pizza and that's exactly what I went for. The pizza was fantastic. I got myself 2 slices and they were amazing. I was in the area for business and wanted something that would be quick. Every Friday night in our family is pizza night. We just moved to Cary so we needed to find a spot that met all the needs for our family of 6. Affordable, preferably NY style(moms from NY), and for now, in Cary. We had to pick our daughter up from CHS and I caught primo out of the corner of my eye. Checked it out online real quick and stopped in for some pizza. They have daily specials! We got 2 XL (18in) pizzas a penne Alfredo and an order of garlic knots. Everything was delicious! BEST NY style pizza/food! There's a different special every day of the week that are all great deals. Husband got two slices of pepperoni pizza and I got a calzone with mushroom and sausage (and of course mozzarella & ricotta) - both were way freaking delicious and we left feeling sooo full. The top of the calzone had garlic... I about died it tasted so good. The very friendly lady working there told us that literally everything is handmade here- sauce, pizza dough, mushrooms are freshly sliced, etc. And you can really tell because the food is so delicious. We sat in and the food was ready quickly. This is for sure our go-to pizza / quick Italian place now. And I didn't get her name but the lady working there was so friendly she made our experience. Props to her... I hope management reads this because she deserves a lot of credit and probably a raise because she's half the reason why we would go back. I went to Primo Pizza today and I purchased a 14" Pepperoni Pizza for dinner! I really enjoyed the pizza, it was the best pizza I have tried in Cary. The sauce was flavorful and the pizza had a perfect amount of it. The toppings were fresh and delicious. The crust was appetizing, I normally find crust to be bland, but their crust was very good. Placed order online for (2) two-slice pizza specials with a soft drink. Both were wrong and missing topics paid for. Drink was a can soda and not the size you would get in the restaurant. Disappointed to say the least as we have been long-time customers. Last time we walked in there to order the two slice special the guy at counter said he was too busy to deal with the order if I couldn't order a full pizza, then it couldn't help me. Don't get me wrong. The food is great but the staff is lifeless and the owner/manager is a tool face jerk. I got a job there as a delivery driver and had a great shift. I cleaned up and did everything I was told before being let go for the night. The next day he made up some story about me leaving a mountain of dishes for him the next morning and he let me go. Who does that? It was all made up! read more

And it was unclear that meant outside tables are for full service dining only. I can see if people were waiting to be seated or you were trying to eat food from another restaurant there. It seemed weird to get chased away for being their customer. If you're getting a slice to go you hopefully would be there 15-20 minutes at most. It was so off-putting I have to include it in the review even though it happened a while ago. Just set your expectations...pizza is 5 stars, service is 3-4 stars, cost 3 stars.

Surprisingly, Mezza Luna is actually conveniently located in a short trip! I arrived in person and walked to the counter. I was greeted promptly and the guy was answering 2 phones and taking orders and gave me options based on time and wait for pizza. He did not realize that I was looking for gluten free and got a gentleman to help me. My apologies, as I was a bit overwhelmed and didn't catch his name and how long he said it would be. Regardless, I am a patient person and waited. The gentleman brought the pizza box and handed it to me. The inside restaurant has positioned seating to utilize the space very well. As the clock approaches 5 o'clock, the regular patrons come in and the guy at the counter acknowledges each person even by name. Back to my gluten free pizza.... I did say "thank you, smells amazing " hoping they heard me as this was my first visit. Fortunately, I have self-control and didn't peek until I got home. The plan was to eat half, then reheat other half to determine......besides smelling and seeing the fresh ingredients...no need to add any seasoning! Please don't judge...but I finished it myself! It was quite tasty. Honestly, I was surprised being able to finish it and how delicious as gluten free is not always easy to make. I forgot to ask about the meatballs..are they only beef? If so, if I call or stop in a day or so in advance, could you consider making 4 meatballs no gluten maybe using cheese instead to taste? I saw hand cut fries...might need to give that a try. ;) No worries about the gluten and sans pork for me too, sorry. Jeff was prompt in refilling our beverages, and remembered the small details like a lime slice with the Diet Coke. The food was fantastic, the three of us shared everything. The only thing missing is a photo of the dessert, highly recommend the spumoni dessert - it features a table side marshmallow toast. So fun!
