I mainly stick with bacon eggs toast and the orange juice but I have tried other things as well. This place is in great fine, easy to get to, and the service is great. I went with a large party and we were seated and served in no time. The coffee smelled really good but I always get the fresh squeezed orange juice served on a doily. Their omelettes are the biggest omelettes I have ever seen before and they are still delicious. There are pancakes and fluffy and their butter is good. On a busy day after Christmas, we were seated quickly, but some glaring problems existed and I can only give them 3 stars. The table did not have any silverware when we were seated and we had to ask the waitress twice, then we asked another waitress again for silverware. It took three times to get our silverware. We used to come here nearly every Sunday for breakfast, but over the past year its gone way downhill. No dish is ever consistent anymore, the prices have increased, and service is almost always poor. This past weekend we decided to give them another try, but once again left disappointed. After being sat, we waited close to 15 minutes before anyone came to our table. When they finally did the first thing they said was, "You guys good over here?". When we said we would like coffee and to order as no one had come to us yet they said, "Oh I know. I just thought I would come take your drink order since your server is still busy". Okay? If you knew we had not yet been waited on, why start by asking if we are good? And why not simply take both our drink and food orders, even if that just means writing it down and handing it to our waitress given that we had already been waiting so long? It made zero sense. Once we did get our drinks and food, the strawberry syrup I've had a million times has apparently been replaced with jam because that's exactly what it was. I don't know if that is also what they use in the strawberry crepes now, but if so that sucks as that was the main reason I loved getting their strawberry waffle. Two coffees, a waffle, a stack of pancakes, and a side of toast for nearly $40 after tip. Time to find a new breakfast place. read more

Lemme start off by saying, I only came here because we have one in Georgia that is FIRE. Literally on point every time, fresh pancakes, fresh food, always steaming hot when it comes out, from grill to plate. It makes IHOP look so bad! This one, not so much. My plate definitely sat under a lamp for a while, which I could forgive, if they didn't serve me frozen boxed pancakes. I really don't understand how you can call the restaurant "The Pancake House" and serve either pre made or frozen pancakes (99% sure they were frozen though). When I eat at the location in Georgia, again, it's all hot and undoubtedly fresh pancakes with grill marks and crispy buttered sides to prove it. This location doesn't even try to hide the fact they're slinging pre made, or frozen, hard pancakes. I don't want any of this going on my waiter because he was great and prompt even with a packed house and multiple large parties. He only serves the food, and he did his job well. I know that people tend to lump "breakfast places" together in their minds, but this is the second Original Pancake House that I've been to, and I find them to be a cut above the IHOPs and Denny's of the world. For this visit, my colleagues headed there for our Friday "Lunch Bunch" outing. There were ten of us, but we were seated promptly and drink orders were taken. The coffee was fresh and hot, served with half and half in a little metal "crock" instead of the typical plastic tearoff things; a nice touch. Before long, the food started coming out, and it was some good stuff. Here's what I sampled: Country style benedict: Split biscuit with sausage, scrambled eggs and topped with sausage gravy, this was a big winner. Generously sized, with a fresh biscuit and eggs, it was delicious with only some added black pepper. Pancakes: Side dish for the benedict, they were fluffy and tasty, everything you'd want in a pancake. Dutch baby: My first time to try this tread, it was similar to a lemon tart in taste, and the pastry portion was hard to describe, but it was more firm than a pancake, but not "crunchy". Very, very good. Apple pancake: Delivered in its fully "puffed up" state, it started to gently deflate (by design) before our eyes, adding some entertainment value. The taste and texture, though, were nothing to laugh at; it had a rich apple cinnamon taste with real apple slices, and the pancake itself had a great "tooth" to it. All in all, this was really a nice meal. I'll also admit that I'm a sucker for "breakfast for lunch", and will rarely turn down an opportunity to have it. read more

I came here with my Dad while he was in town for breakfast. They had a nice large menu and I really enjoyed the food. The staff was friendly and the restaurant itself seemed very clean. Well the experience was not very good unfortunately. Our waitress had so many tables she barely could get to us and we had to wait at least 40 minutes before our food came. I ordered the Patti melt and she had not asked me what kind of bread. I went to the bathroom she had come back to ask me what bread and I was gone so that delayed us another 15 minutes or so. Anyway we'd like to try it again but we thought it was a little pricey and the problem with the service. We were a party of 10 As we were seated we were greeted right away and our waiter took our drink order & our meal order This is why I didn't give 5 stars, as we were finishing with our plates we had extra plates around our table with little to no room for us to eat, we were never asked if we would like extra refills. Cups were pulled up the side along side with plates to show there was no room. I was missing an item from my plate & was being charged for them. This place was great. Walk in, they have a pad there for you to sign yourself in on Yelp's Waitlist. Upon seating, we had someone come shortly and quickly return with coffee and waters. Coffee was dark roasted and yummy. She gave recommendations upon being asked. ALL the food was so good! Bacon was thick, pancakes and omelets awesome. Ok, so I've got into a tradition of taking 3-4 teen boys out to breakfast after their Saturday morning cross country practice. These dudes can eat. We've been all over the local area but hadn't tried OPH. One of the kids recommended it when we were trying to decide where to go. I like to branch out of our usual spots, so we went. All the boys found a meal, and I had the pancakes. Since it has "pancake" in the name, I expected it to have good pancakes, and I wasn't disappointed. The batter is a bit more flavorful than the other breakfast places. Also, on these excursions I can expect to pay around $100 with tip for breakfast. My bill here was around $50-60 which is not the norm. I wouldn't say the portions were huge for teen boys, but they all ate enough to get full. My first visit to this restaurant was this morning and I ordered Migas, which came with 3 corn or flour tortillas. Instead of pancakes, I substituted it with hashbrown. The food was appealing to the eye, but it lacked seasoning. I asked for hot sauce, thinking it would help with the blandness, but it didn't. I doubt I will visit this restaurant again. I would have taken pics but everything was so good we ate it really fast! We come to this location often and we noticed a considerable difference in the speed in the arrival of the food. Great experience from the quick greeting, friendly server who repeated the order and delivered pre drops before the food, and the order was perfect when it arrived. We drive the extra ten minutes past First Watch, Bacons, and Sunny Street because of the Pancakes and it's nice when the rest of the experience is perfect also.
