I visited for the first time and it was during brunch. Short version: Food exceeded my expectations. Come for the food, not for the service. Why give it five stars? Because the food is so worth it, you can't find freshness and quality like this anywhere. I will start with the CONS: Food took forever to come out. When it finally arrived we didn't have silverware or drinks. No one came to check on us so we waited and our food got cold. A different server came to check on our drinks and realized we had none and also we had no silverware. She soon brought those out. I asked for salsa, and they brought enough for me, but my husband also had a meal that would typically go with salsa and they didn't bring him any so I had to ration it. We had to remind them we were still waiting on another meal for our kids and that one took even longer to come out. PROS: the staff was welcoming, they were very nice, the atmosphere was very cozy and the music was fun and not too loud unlike most places. The fresh squeezed orange juice was very good as was the agua de jamaica (hibiscus tea) both were the perfect amount of sweetness. I ordered the birria tacos given it is the winter and a cup of warm broth was calling my heart. The birria tacos are actually not birria, they are just steak tacos fried with cheese. Honestly I do not care because the steak was absolutely perfect, not over cooked, and the cheese had an impressive pull. The accompanying broth was topped with plenty of onions and cilantro but was very flavorful I want to inject it in my veins. I keep having flashbacks of me dipping the tacos in the broth. I'm salivating just thinking about it. We also ordered a Belgian waffle topped with fresh strawberries and powered sugar for the table as a dessert and it was the perfect plate to end the meal. This may be our go to Sunday brunch from now on. Glad to have found a place that doesn't taste like Cisco food. read more

So happy we tried this place! I had the migas which is what I always get when I first visit a place. My fiance had a spinach, bacon, sausage, and cheese omelet with hashbrowns. We loved the decor. The music was Spanish then country then pop. Stick to Spanish it matches the food and vibe. The service was quick at first then sporadic after, but I think they're understaffed a little. I had been wanting to try this place for a while but we were never in the area when they were open AND we rarely thought of it as an option since they are tucked away in a strip center. We decided to try it for brunch one Sunday morning. There was only 1, maybe 2 tables, occupied so I was immediately nervous! If you have ever tried to get brunch in Grapevine you know there is always a line unless you go early morning! The decor was nice and colorful and the restaurant was clean. We were immediately seated and drink orders taken. They have fresh squeezed orange juice so the visit was looking up! Many things in the menu looked promising. My husband ordered the breakfast taco plate and WOW was there a lot of food! You definitely get your moneys worth, assuming you can eat it all or take leftovers home. Sooo good and the rice and beans were excellent! I had the huevos rancheros. Best decision all day! The carne asada was cooked so well! Add some potatoes and avocado then add some homemade ranchero sauce...it was *chef's kiss *. Give them a try! Came here today for brunch. There was no wait and pretty quiet. The service was direct and friendly. Well are defiantly going to come back! Best French toast in the area. The Ana's chilaquiles are made with red sauce and not a green sauce and it's more like drizzled with sauce. I would like it less crunchy but after smothering it with the eggs and beans it was pretty soft. It's a clean, cozy restaurant with booths small enough for two. read more

With most of the booths empty, I was still seated at one not ready for breakfast service. While the nearby booths had all the trays filled, mine only had saccharine and aspartame packets. There were neither cream nor sugar packets. When I ordered my coffee, I had to remind the waiter that I needed cream. I was deciding between healthy (Avocado toast) and unhealthy (Chocanna waffle). In a rare moment, healthy won out. Why is it the healthier choice? Unlike the variations of avocado toasts which I previously had, theirs had only egg whites and not the entire egg. With mainly avocados and egg whites, I was even able to taste the lime juice within the avocados. I also enjoyed the fruit cup. A lot of places mostly fill it up with whole grapes. The eggs were cooked perfect over medium and the red sauce was delicious. It came with fresh avocado, tender carne asada, and a side of breakfast potatoes (homemade, not frozen like so many places use.) My husband had the huevos divorciados and liked both sauces. I love Wicho's House!! I have been coming here for about two years with my friends and family and they always have the best food and service and it's never crowded at all. I love to get the Birria Tacos, they're the best ones that I have had in North Texas. It's just the cutest place and I would recommend it over and over again. The interior of the restauraunt is warm and inviting. I ordered carnitas (steak) tacos, horchata, Mexican rice and churros which comes with whipped cream, light syrup and strawberries. The steak was chewy and delicious, however parts of the tortilla was hard. The Mexican rice tasted like it was thawed from the freezer, it was alright. The churros were crunchy, delicious and filling. The horchata was creamy, sweet and flavorful. The customer service was friendly and quick. The amount of food/drink for the price is worthwhile. I ordered a Dr. Pepper & their chicken Caesar salad. The soda was close to flat, so I asked for a Coke as a replacement. Still almost flat. Lunch came out and looked decent. Unfortunately, the dressing was so tasteless, if I had closed my eyes and ate it (not knowing what it was supposed to be), I would have only known it was a creamy dressing as opposed to an oil based dressing. No taste. The chicken was lightly browned, but not seasoned at all. No salt & pepper. I had asked for extra croutons and they definitely complied! I did love that! They were lightly crunchy (which I did like), but absolutely oil saturated, visibly. You could also taste the oil. Overall, not a dish I would reorder. Beware this place charges for refills of iced tea and coffee. If you get a waitress who doesn't warn you like we did on our first visit, you might end up spending an extra $20 in drinks for 2 people. The birria tacos and chilaquiles plate was not a hit with my daughter and husband but many Mexican foods taste different everywhere. So we just weren't partial to the way these were made. They also have a really big menu so you can get a variety of different types of lunch foods, including Birria tacos, salads and pastas and different things like that.
