Don't do it, it's awful. I've been to this chain in another state and would wait an hour for its deliciousness so when I saw there was one here, I was thrilled! Should have known that to be able to walk right in with no wait, it would not be good. But, I gave it another shot the other day and it was worse than the first visit! I arrived right 7am this morning. I was only one of three customers that came in at this time. I ordered Swedish crepes and two slices of bacon...After a good 30 minutes or more, my ordered arrived at my table. They were worst crepes I have seen or tasted. If you're trying to eat healthy, or perhaps low carb, be advised that literally everything in the menu is served with a side of pancakes which I suppose makes sense given that this IS the original pancake house. Had I known, however I might have gone to IHOP or similar so we could order without the sides had I known. Unfortunately we ended up paying $11 or $12 each for food that we wouldn't eat. I have been coming here since I moved to Texas in 2015, not once have I ever had a mad meal or service. The food is always fresh and on point, I have never had to send anything back for a recook and their coffee is very good. THE BEST PART ABOUT THIS PLACE IS THE BACON!!!! We were promptly seated 12:52pm. Our waitress was friendly and quick taking our orders. At 1:28pm our kid side items arrived along with the berries we ordered with our Swedish crepes. 1:46pm we received our meals. The service to get our meal was very slow. However, our food was hot and filling. The portions were quite large. The kids had a free refill of hot chocolate. The orange juice was freshly made. I will say that we probably wouldn't come back if we are extremely hungry. The bill was a bit on the expensive side. $69 for family of 4. Pancakes are nice and thick, and best of all.. served piping hot!! (My favorite way to eat) Our experience started off great, but shortly after our food was served, we didn't see a server. There was hardly any customers, one lady had to get up, go to the back and ask for coffee. We all got to listen to a story from a very loud server about his up and coming interview at another restaurant. While backing out of the parking space, one server who was obviously late and speeding through the parking lot almost hit us. The kids meals were not enough to fill up my small children...and they were $6 plus. And if they want a drink, it is still $2.50. All of the fruit options are covered in cinnamon...bananas, applesauce, everything. They would benefit by revamping the kids menu significantly. As for the adult meals we ordered...they were just okay. I had blueberry pancakes which came with "blueberry compote" only it isn't blueberry compote. It is warmed up, watery blueberries and is pretty gross. The pancakes themselves were fine. The eggs were good. The biscuits were good. The gravy is powdered and not what you have in mind when you are craving biscuits and gravy. We spent almost $70 on a truly unimpressive breakfast. Walking by the other tables and seeing other customer's food, as we're being seated, made me want to order everything on the menu. I ordered the healthy omelet; it was runny, toasted on the outside and near raw on the inside - it tasted horrible. My meal cost $23.34 which included coffee and a generous tip. It was sooo busy the morning of Saturday August 4th and I stopped in to grab breakfast solo. My server William gave me 5 STAR service in the packed house! He greeted me immediately, kept my coffee full, predropped and prebused, kept a watchful eye on his section without hovering, upsold my meal, and had hands full-in and full-out everytime I saw him. I got a check back after my food arrived hot and on time and my check was brought out while I was savoring my final cup of joe. He hit every service point they teach us! Came here on a Sunday morning around 10am. I knew it would be packed. We were told it would be a 30-45 min wait. It was indeed THAT long. I wished I hadn't waited because the food was garbage. My friend's grits came out cold and lumpy. Her corn beef hash was not cooked properly. My pancakes were okay. However my western omelette had too much cheese you NOT taste the other ingredients. The only thing satisfying was the coffee and we had to constantly beg for it. No one came around offering coffee. The waiter told me he would take off my western omelette charge on my bill since I only took one bite and was not satisfied. However when I got my receipt it was STILL on there. I had to ask for the manager to get this resolved. Please don't waste your TIME or your TASTE BUDS. This is NOT the same as the other Original Pancake House restaurants.
