The pier has the sunset party that is a must when in town. There is usual a steel drum band and feels like a corona commercial. You are centrally located and I was fortunate enough to be there Sat night for the mandatory hurricane evacuation Sunday. See the actual picture I took Sunday morning of the evacuation. There was not a single car on the road. Get there early for sunsets if you want a seat and settle in for a cool experience. This is a must for all visitors.
