I dream about this visit all year long...there's just something about ordering an ice cold drink and chilling on the outdoor patio listening to live music. It feels like walking into Jimmy Buffett's backyard! We enjoyed checking out the local artists set up in the back and listening to the live band. Love the vibes here, not too much parking but we were able to snag one. While we didn't try the taco food truck, it smelled delicious. Walking inside, we were immediately welcomed. Seems like they are dog friendly inside and out. We hung out inside but there is also seating outside. We ordered a flight of beer - 5 for $16 Iguana Bait Honey Hibiscus Kolsch - bit of the honey undertone at the end Spearfish Amber Ale - loved the amber ale, definitely recommend Hurricane Hole Irish Red - a good Irish Red Honey Bottomed Blonde - very refreshing and more of a Honey flavor than the Kolsch Peanut Butter Jelly Time - Boyzenberry - I feel like this was more jelly than PB but some slight acidity. This is such a great brewery! First of all, one of my favorite IPA's comes from here: Spiny Hopster! So of course, that's already made this one of my favorite breweries. But also their other beers are amazing too! The brewery itself has a great atmosphere, and they have an amazing outdoor area where they have live music. They also have food trucks certain nights as well. This is one of those places where you can spend hours at! We've always had super friendly bartenders so overall we love coming here every time we go down there. read more

Beers and good but they taste even better with a live daily band and a huge outdoor seating area. This place has it all. They have taco truck parked on the side. There are a bunch of little shops all around. The ambience is very special. This is a great place for kids as long as you watch your kids! They do post that they can ask you to leave. So be kind and you'll be just fine. Also, if you need water, there is a tap for water outside !!! read more

Can I come here daily?! What a great vibe! We started with a flight of IPAs (and 1 sour since they had 4 IPA options and a flight here is 5). Our favorite beer by far was the Spiny Hopster IPA!! ..had to take a 6-pack home. The atmosphere is great - perfectly Keys. The garden is lush enough to hide you from heavy sun or (today) a heavy cold breeze. The furnishings are bright and colorful, and the people that come here match it, with their open and friendly vibes. The live music was great and makes this spot special. This spot makes you feel immediately happy. The live music was perfect Keys vibe. This brewery is kid and dog friendly. Outdoor games and board games make it an easy sell for children small and large. Surrounding the garden are shops and artists, adding to the ambiance and synergy of the area. We bought a few items from the brewery shop.. tshirt, stickers, and bracelets made by a local high school student. read more

Great vibes here, but what else would they be! There's beach, clear waters, 45 mph driving, and did I say, Beach all around this place! Island vibes and good times is their slogan and they live up to it. Sweet merch to purchase, many beer selections on tap and also in bottles. Growlers and crowlers too, if that's your thing! Very cool brewery in Islamorada FL. They brew 20 beers on premise and available on tap for customers. I ordered the Spiny Hopster ipa 7% very tasty and hoppy which i love. The inside has wooden pink blue and green tables with two visible steel brewing vats. The outside boasts a huge garden style courtyard to drink and socialize. The staff was very friendly and explained the array of beers. No food made here but they have a food truck outside called Tacos Jalisco 2 where the steak or chicken tacos are $2.50 and the street soft taco steak was crazy good. read more

While in Islamorada, Florida, I happen to see this cute brewery, and had to try them out. The place is so cute and decorated so cleverly and bright, capturing your full attention. They have a full bar and great beer selection on tap, including a few IPAs. I tried the Sun Session IPA, which was good, but very light. The girl that helped us was so friendly and witty, joking with us the entire time, making us laugh and adding to the already great experience. The brewery is so cute, especially the outside area with its bright colors, and live music which added to cool vibe of being in the Florida Keys that day. The added bonus is, there is a food truck to the side of the building where you can pick up your food and come sit in the back of the brewery and enjoy your food, the view and ambience. This place is a must try and will be my go to every time I'm back in the keys. read more

History

Established in 2012.

Craig and Cheryl founded Florida Keys Brewing Co in 2012. They have been brewing beer and serving it at local events since then. The full production brewery started brewing beer in January 2015. A pilot system currently supplies the tasting room and some distribution while the larger system will be installed in the summer of 2015.

When the meal came, I saw that what was delivered was NOT fresh Florida lobster. The manager (?) told me they hadn't pulled the traps yet and didn't have any Florida lobster -- which was strange as it was almost a week into the season and their two ads touted it. Anyhow, he suggested the snapper instead and I chose the coconut yellowtail sandwich from their specials. This was barely edible -- over fried, over cooked, and dried out. I took only a couple bites and coins t even eat the rest. Meanwhile, my husband had ordered the cracked conch appetizer. We've had this all over Florida (he's a native) and in the Carribean. This version was quite different. It had large square pieces of conch in a heavy fried batter. I would not recommend this dish, either.

Florida Keys Brewing Co. was exactly the kind of stop we were hoping for in Islamorada. Laid-back, colorful, easy, and very Keys. The beer was great, the vibe was fun without trying too hard, and it felt like the kind of place where you can just hang out, relax, and pretend you don't have responsibilities waiting for you somewhere north of the Overseas Highway. We loved the casual outdoor feel, the bright murals, and the overall "come as you are" energy. It's a great spot to grab a flight, try something local, and take a little break from seafood, shopping, sun, or whatever vacation adventure you're pretending is exercise. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Islamorada. Bonus points for being fun, unfussy, and very Florida Keys in the best way. read more

I had such a great experience at this local brewery. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between laid-back and lively--great music, friendly staff, and plenty of space to relax or catch up with friends. The beer selection is impressive, with something for every taste. Each brew feels thoughtfully crafted, and the bartenders are happy to offer suggestions or samples if you're unsure what to try. I loved that they highlight local ingredients and seasonal flavors--it really sets them apart. Service was excellent, and the vibe made it easy to spend an afternoon here without realizing how much time passed. Another great brewery. Definite must try for anyone in the area that loves craft beer and a great vibe. This place had it all. The atmosphere was so fun. The taco food truck had really good food. I would recommend the nachos. Some of the best I have had. The chips were homemade, thick and never got soggy. My family said the tacos were excellent. The beers were definitely upper level. I am a IPA guy and the death by mermaid was outstanding but I also had a coffee blonde, wild ale and a session and appreciated how each one was crafted. The brewer is very diverse and skilled. Being a craft-brew enthusiast from San Antonio, Tx, when I travel I enjoy finding and visiting local craft breweries. Florida Keys Brewing exceeded my expectations! The ambience, variety of brews, brewer Dallas who also serves as beer tender, and the number of fellow beer drinkers so quickly after opening we're all testimony to the popularity of this local brewery. They had a great variety of merchandise so I was able to add to my tin-tacker collection, but I really recommend this place for all the above reasons. Support your local brewery! read more

THEY HAVE A FOOD TRUCK NOW yum yum!! I'm so glad that the brewery is here-I bring everyone who visits to this place. The beer garden is relaxing with nice ambiance. The beers have a lighter style to them which is great to combat the Florida humidity! The decor is beautiful and the staff is really friendly and knowledgeable about their products-Mike, Clain and Alex all kick ass. This is one of our favorite stops when we are in Islamorada.The beer is fresh, local, tasty and they always have something new and interesting on tap to quench your thirst and satisfy your tastebuds. On Sunday Eleanor is behind the bar and there is live music in the garden. We usually have to sit and have one with her before we go outside just because we love her so much! An epic legend and a must stop if you're in the Keys. In a place basically running on Rum it's nice to have a good brewery. This place is unique, among your classic brew shops, in the fact that it shies away from the grunge atmosphere associate with the scene and instead sinks it's teeth into Jimmy Buffet's neck; drinking heavy from that Caribbean stew. read more

By the way, Florida Keys Brewering is the only family owned brewery that makes all their beer in the Keys. You must check them out when you are vacationing in the Keys! read more
