This doctor is exceptionally conceited and rude, and he seems to have some sort of paranoid illicit…read moredrug use agenda. I had the misfortune of having this man as my hospitalist during a recent hospital stay. I was sent by my own primary care physician by ambulance to the emergency room and was admitted as an inpatient. I was very sick. My husband was unable to be with me every day at the hospital as he was also sick. IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. While by myself in the hospital room my second day there, this man burst through the door, and handed me a business card with his full color photo on it. He then accused me of using multiple illicit drugs, which I do not use. He also accused me of taking blood pressure medication, which I do take by prescription along with 2 other drugs that I take by prescription. When I attempted to speak with him, he yelled at me that I was a liar. "YOU ARE LYING!" I was trying to tell him the medications I take by prescription. He would have none of it. I was alone except for this man, and I was very sick. I did not attempt communication with this man from that point forward. Scared the living daylights out of me. I promise you, had my husband been well enough to be present at the hospital with me, this never would have played out this way. The following day Mr. Chaltry hid outside my room and had another doctor come in to question me if I used these illicit drugs. Ridiculous, unprofessional behavior by a so-called doctor. By the way, this man is an osteopath. After several days I was discharged to go home. My labs were worse on the day I was discharged than they were when I entered the hospital. I was having a severe allergic reaction to the medication he gave me (which was on my list of allergies). Oddly enough, Mr. Chaltry sent me home with exactly the same meds I had been on when I first came into the hospital. So, I guess he was simply too insecure to admit he was in error when he accused me of being an illegal drug user, or he simply isn't intelligent enough to check for false positives. Days later when I saw my primary care doc, he told me that no one ever called to consult him even though he was the doctor who sent me to the hospital. I returned to the hospital the following day and was once again admitted because my condition had worsened. Luckily, I drew another hospitalist the second go-round. This doctor was intelligent enough to question the prescription drugs I take, and we found that the illicit drug use accusations came from false positives created by my prescription intake. My second stay was approximately a week, due to the severe damage caused by the allergic reaction to the meds that Mr. Chaltry had me on while I was his patient. My health care was extremely poor with Mr. Chaltry. I would refuse his services if I had it to do over.
