Visited this place after a team dinner! It's a cozy spot that's like a hole in the wall. It was pretty dead when we arrived... but our party of 7 became the life of the party as a few more customers showed up throughout our visit. Cute bar on divisadero. Lots of seating and different drink options. My gin and tonic came with a nice juice cube but you do make the cocktail yourself with a mini gin bottle and a bottle of tonic. Nothing incredibly special with that but a nice vibe. read more

Popped in to check out the drink menu. I got the pink pussycat, which was a aperol and tequila based drink. It wasn't too sour or bitter, the right amount of sweet. My friend got the phoenix, and it was strong but smooth. I loved all the artists featured on the wall, it made for fun discussions and nice to look at. Albeit I was a little haunted by a mitosis themed artwork. Our drinks came quickly, we were checked up on, and they were diligent about having water available. This little gem is a neighborhood must, the interior lead into a narrow aisle, but the seating is comfortable. They have a small room in the back too, so it can definitely house a good size group! Their drinks selections are great and service is excellent leading by their awesome manager Erin! Their rotational art show is a wonderful attraction with curated pieces on display for sale. The bartender, Arthur verbally intimated and harassed me for asking for a drink. I was at the bar at 11:45pm and asked Arthur for 2 G&Ts, after our friends had ordered cocktails. Rather than taking the order, he started screaming at me "beer shot or wine", I said G&T and then he screamed again. I didn't understand why he was saying that and asked for a cocktail and then screamed the same thing to me at least 3-4 times, after which I walked away because no matter what I said or asked he would scream "beer shot or wine". Right after me he made cocktails for the next group. The door woman then came up to me and apologized for his behavior and asked what happened. She then explained after 12 they can only serve a beer, shot, or wine, which Arthur didn't explain and it was 11:45 when I asked. Simply screamed at me as if I should know this bar policy. After apologizing profusely, the door woman explained that this wasn't the first time that he had lashed out at customers and alienated them. Apparently, Arthur has a prejudice against South Asian people, since he served the group of Caucasian people after me with no problem. The doorwoman also explained that he was drunk, but that is neither a satisfactory explanation, nor was it a solution to the issue. Instead of SCREAMING at me, if he had calmly or at least clearly explained the bar policy, I wouldn't have asked for a G&T. But it was evident he was enjoying harassing and intimating a woman asking for a drink. The fact that he was allowed to indulge his power trip was deeply uncomfortable and made me feel very unsafe. I walked away without a drink because I was just so nervous and scared to interact with him again, which seemed to be his goal. All that my friends and I wanted was to end the night with one drink here but it ended up being a situation where I felt discriminated against and taken advantage of for the purpose of currying favor with a majority white crowd. When my friend confronted him about being rude and verbally harassing me after I went back to the table without a drink, Arthur completely ignored the attempt to address his behavior and said we should try another bar down the street in a very dismissive fashion, as if we were in the wrong, rather than his behavior. read more

After dinner, my group of four stopped by Mini Bar. We arrived in Friday, August 10th around 10pm. The bar is fairly small and it was super crowded, so we just stood by the bar. Ended up getting the Cocktail of the Week, which was the Hanky Panky: buffalo trace, luxardo cherry liqueur, lemon ($9) and a few Makers Mark Manhattans: served up garnished with luxardo cherry ($9). Unfortunately, because it was so crowded, we just had the round and left. We wanted something a little more chill and this spot was too loud and boisterous for us. Plus, there was no open seating. True to it's name as it's a mini / small bar. I like more laid back lounges, so this wasn't really my scene. Maybe on a slower night, but on a Friday, it was too crowded for me. read more

A friend and I had just finished dinner and were looking for a nightcap when we found Mini Bar SF! Nothing crazy but there were quite a few people in when we were there, probably regulars. The walls were studded with local art for sale, there was chatter throughout the bar, and a playlist that was all over the place. Some dive bars aren't so great with cocktails, I usually lean towards shots or canned or bottled beers. But the drinks weren't bad at all, properly chilled and in proper portions. We ordered a few rounds of Old-Fashioned's and Boulevardiers each and enjoyed chatting with each other in a low-key setting. Overall, great experience! This is the definition of a neighborhood bar! You'll get a few looks coming in here if you aren't a regular but there's no malice to it just the fact that you can instantly tell that 95% of people in here are religious regulars. However, the staff is super welcoming, that also includes their dog AB who really was the perfect finishing touch to this establishment. I ordered the Fig'ure it out cocktail which had fig and tequila so I was instantly sold, and my boyfriend ordered a beer with a Negroni. I loved my cocktail so much that I ordered it twice. The name is very meta, it is a mini bar but I didn't mind - I love places like this! There is a back sitting area and a few places to sit at the front and of course at the bar so finding a seat wasn't a probably. Additionally, the music they played here was great -- old school, hip hop vibes! I'm surprised there aren't many bars around this section of Divisadero. In any neighborhood I'm in, I strive to visit all the popular spots. Mini Bar SF was a typical dive bar, and my experience was a little disappointing. Not sure what I expected, but the reviews on Yelp are generally positive. For starters, there's not much space in here, and the bench seating (though well-cushioned) is all tattered. Keep walking deeper into the bar to find the small space where the bartender resides. He was dismissive on our visit, but it was a slow Sunday, so I guess I can't blame him. That day, there was a matador cocktail special with tequila, lime, and pineapple. Right up my alley. Also our high school mascot was a matador, so I felt obligated. Overall the vibe is super chill, the music is fun, and it's dog friendly. Not a bad bar, but not a great one either. I'm guessing almost everyone in here is a regular that lives close by. read more

Shout out to Erin our bartender, super cute & friendly, very attentive. We ordered La Bruja which I believe might be a seasonal drink created by another bartender. It's a combination of Tequila, mezcal, passion fruit & lime. I ordered mine as is, my sister ordered hers with just mezcal. Just mezcal, is the way to go in my opinion & when we ordered the second round, we asked the new bartender to add tajin to the rim & that just took it to the next level, in my opinion. The stars must have been aligned. Even though the bartender was way too young to know such classic rock, her playlist said the opposite. When she shared with us that this was indeed her personal playlist, we were awed. From the Doors to Joni Mitchell, this mixologist knew her craft as well as her classic rock. Very cool. The martinis were chilled beautifully, shaken and served up with a twist. The vibe is neighborhood- y mellow. The art work on the wall added to the local, SF ambiance. This is a great little neighborhood bar, sort of your Diviz Dive bar here on Divisadero. Has a few booths up front, a room in the back, and a bar in the middle. Mostly regulars and neighborhood types. They make strong drinks at low prices. We had a Hendricks Tonic and Johnny Walker on ice for $15 total, on a Sunday evening. They had an everyday HH until 7pm special: PBR and a shot of Jamison for $8! With that combo and price, could skinny jeanned, beanie chapeau'd hipsters be far away? It's been awhile, but Mini Bar is still holding strong and still just as inviting and charming. I adore that despite the intimate size of Mini Bar, that you can still hear yourself and your friends. Their back lounge area is absolutely adorable and so what's up. With casual laid back couch seating, it's such a divine secluded space for gathering with a bigger sized group. Mini Bar really captures Divisadero street beautifully. You know I love this hood! I will always have mad love and respect for this hood, my old stomping grounds! There are super friendly bartenders (and thanks for carding me! WOOT)! There are beers on tap, beers by the bottle, wine and bubbly and some other spirits, too! Prices are quite reasonable and won't break the bank. It's a cozy and friendly neighborhoody place, where 1 or maybe 2 or 3 may know your name. If not, everyone here is so casual and chill, you could strike up a convo with someone new. Seating in the front and back lounge area with few tables, and about 10 bar stools at the bar. You may see a dog or two, here, as it's pet friendly. What is there not to love? Nice neighborhood bar. Good drink specials daily. I went tonight, and while it started slow (at 5PM) it picked up nicely by 7PM. They had Pliney the Elder bottles (16 oz) for $4 a pop - good deal. The well drinks and beers were also a buck off during happy hour. The crowd started mellow, locals, but grew nicely. I ended up chatting up the girl next to me that was from the same tiny town as me, and had a good time. Overall, this place is very nice. Summer, the bartender, is extremely sociable and makes a good drink. Reason enough to come for a few. And the close proximity to the Independent makes it nice. read more

Don't judge a book by its cover. Teeny but mighty, this bar is the epitome of a local neighborhood bar resting just north of NOPA and next to Western addition. Located here makes it a perfect stop for a mix of people to pop through and gives it more character than other hottie toddy bars further up the Waylon divis. Full bar with relatively cheap drinks (Although my bartenders, who were both super nice, charged me different prices for the same libation ($10 then $8 for a Negroni.)). TVs next to the bar, a couple of couches and standing room, with local art lining the walls and motown playing lightly on the speakers. So I'm here Thursday late afternoon (5:00 pm.) Came in to check out this "mini bar." 7 men sitting at the small bar (an epic Warriors game is coming on at 6pm). A long, freshly-vinyled bench seat with 3 table tops available. Low-level volume Punk Rock music playing in the background. I didn't like the drink special for the evening, only one...whiskey-based something. I asked the bartender... are there any other drink specials? She asked, "What's your liquor of choice?" I said vodka. She says, "I can make you a vodka, Ginger liqueur, squeeze of this, squeeze of that and it's delicious." I said yes. Yes x's 3. It was refreshing and delicious ($9 each). Her name, Annie. A wonderful lady who made me feel comfortable as an older female patron solo in the bar and a great mixologist. Great space, but rude bartender. I visited Mini Bar in the early-ish evening on a Sunday and it was fairly empty. I sat at the bar, asked for a grapefruit juice with well tequila, and the bartender essentially shamed me. He basically said "you don't want that" and his friend sitting at the bar laughed. I wouldn't order well liquor if I planned to sip, but it's perfectly acceptable in mixed drinks. Especially if you're only having one. I don't know why he thought he could talk down to me--perhaps if I were an older male customer he would have been more courteous. Maybe he was just a total snob or trying to make a few more dollars (as my bartender friend mused when I relayed the story)--maybe both. At any rate, I was uncomfortable and won't be back. As another reviewer said, who apparently was also mocked for no reason, there are plenty of other bars with better service. read more

Wow this bar is really "mini!" Sis and I went here after dinner at Bar Crudo. Place was packed from the street festival. I had to literally squeeze my way onto the bar to get our drinks. One plus = they serve Hanger One (the original) so I got my usual: OJ + Hanger One and sis had a Guiness. Total for our two drinks: $14! Yah I was shocked! In SF, $14 for two drinks - WOW! We chatted with some Europeans (very intense discussion about Pottery Barn!) and once my bro-in-law arrived, we left. Will probably stop by here again when we're out roaming this district. read more

Mini Bar is totally under the radar in a busy flourishing neighborhood. The gentrification of the Divisadero corridor has left the established bars alone for the most part. When you walk in to Mini Bar you get a funky cross section of the people in the hood. Some older, some younger but really just never know. The last time we went in the bar tender was making Paloma (grapefruit ,salt, lime juice, sugar, club soda and tequila) for someone else and it looked great. I see people complaining about the drinks not being good and this being a dive bar. It's all true to some degree. They have only a few beers on tab but the beers they have are good. It's a dive of a bar and its perfect. The bartender knows how to make good drinks, there is usually not a huge crowd and the music isn't too loud. You could have a nice conversation, a couple drinks and life is good. And it's not expensive. read more

Soooo....I was driving by one night and almost crashed trying to do a triple-take on what new bar had popped up on Divisadero next to Bar 821! I pulled a u-turn and had to run in! It's very cute, cozy, intimate and plain cool. This place has been open for 2 weeks the owner tells me-I sat at the bar and the bartender made me an awesome raspberry lemondrop-one of my favorite cocktails. THe atmosphere here is very friendly-I didn't dive too much into the signature cocktails, but the drink I had was perfect enough. Bathrooms are CLEAN (Whooo-hooo!!) The art on the wall is cool and I love the lil "champagne" room in the back ha! I would definitely come back here-I always appreciate new spots-never a dull day in SF ;) read more
