Over the past 15 years I've had the privilege of working closely with their team and witnessing the high standard of care they provide to their residents. What impresses me most is their consistent professionalism and attention to detail. The staff is always responsive, organized, and proactive when it comes to handling insurance-related matters--making the process smooth not just for vendors like myself, but most importantly, for the residents and their families. Beyond the administrative side, it's clear that the environment at Park Regency retirement, is one built on compassion and respect. Every time I'm on-site, I see smiling faces, meaningful interactions, and a real sense of community. It's obvious that the residents are well cared for--not just physically, but emotionally and socially as well. They're a fantastic partner and an even better resource for families seeking quality assisted-living options.

A big part of it was the marketer who was not only helpful and communicative, but also enthusiastic about the building and the care staff. She helped them navigate various aspects of relocating our loved one, the pros and cons of different senior living communities and really highlighted the quality care provided by her staff. What ultimately sold us on this community was the memory care. We decided that it would be best to choose a community that had assisted living and memory care in one building so, if the time ever came, it would be a smoother transition should that level of care be needed. Although the building is a bit older, it is well taken care of and has a beautiful courtyard for residents and families to enjoy. I highly recommend taking a tour if you're considering assisted living homes for your loved one!

Much to my huge relief, my parents are genuinely happy and thriving in their new community. They even participate in two standing dinners each week with their new friends! It's no exaggeration that there is truly something for everyone with lots of fun activities, special events, excursions, and many opportunities for residents to interact. There is never a dull moment, and every holiday is celebrated with much fanfare. My quiet, introverted mother has blossomed into a quasi-social butterfly. She can't stop talking about the friendly new people she's met. As a nature lover, she loves her evening walks in the beautifully landscaped grounds. My father enjoys his daily visit to the mailroom and loves chatting with Olga at the front desk who never seems to have a bad day. He's a regular at the gym. He enjoys reading each page of the Weekly Happenings and Monthly Monitor. Both parents love using Morningside's app to review the daily menu before heading down to the restaurant for their meals. The wine offerings are impressive and prices very reasonable! They did notice a slight decline in the food quality/menu options throughout the year, but they said things are starting to improve with the new chef and the switch to a new seafood supplier. The app is easy to navigate and makes entering maintenance/work orders/staff feedback a breeze. Whoever designed the app did a great job because the user-interface is smooth and very intuitive. This is a huge compliment since my parents aren't native English speakers! ;-) A friend from one of their standing dinners is transitioning from independent living to memory care later this month. The group plans to invite him to their weekly dinners as much as possible if/when their meal credits allow. I'm sure Morningside will handle the move with the utmost care and compassion. You can be sure I'll be watching to see how the transition goes and will report back next year. TLDR: If you can figure out a way to make it work, don't hesitate to make the move to Morningside. I'm so happy my parents picked Morningside and wish they hadn't waited so long to make the move!

This was…read moredriven home by the beautiful plants and the finishes in the restrooms by the lobby as we prepared to leave. It was like a Four Seasons throughout and not like a facility for seniors. Touring Walnut Village with Anita, the units were more spacious and more homelike than expected, especially in the bathrooms and kitchen with excellent attention to quality. The fixtures in the hallways were nicely upscale as well; again, the finishes in a seemingly unimportant place were top quality. The Red Chair Lounge looks like a great place to stay engaged; having a drink and socializing before dinner in a quite elegant dining room. The food in the Bistro was excellent and, obviously, residents enjoy and comment on it. One of the issues in any community living situation is that menus get too routine. The staff works hard at variety which shows with the length of the menus and, again, the quality. Probably most important, was the feeling projected by the residents. Residents through out the tour were very engaging with a number stopping to say hello. One answered a question about walking in the surrounding area as a number of residents go out regularly - often walking over to Disneyland. Checking Medicare.gov, Walnut Village ranks very high for its skilled nursing facilities. Many looking for senior housing only think about today but all the levels of service at Walnut Village not only look good but work well. Finally, on a cost side, Walnut Village is an entrance-fee CCRC with monthly fees providing independent and assisted living in the units and an attractive skilled nursing unit on site. That means no leaving friends behind if a medical event arises. Comparing the cost of Walnut Village to other good CCRC facilities in Orange County, it has the lowest entrance fee for comparable size units, provides the largest refund of entrance fees upon leaving with monthly cost comparable or lower than competitive CCRCs. Bottom line, we both were pleasantly surprised by what we saw versus our expectation arriving. We knew it would be a newer facility but could not anticipate the vibe inside. Lots of food for thought.

She's a wonderful, independent, intelligent and bright woman with all her faculties and wits still about her. She's almost 95! Grandma is picky and only likes certain foods and has a bit of OCD when it comes to the way things should be and with cleanliness. Heck, she's done her own thing for over 45 years, do you blame her! She's got every right to do it her way. A few months ago, she had a little health set-back and to just keep things safe while family was out of town for a long length of time, my parents decided to have her stay here for "just a month or two" to be watched over while they were out of town. I don't think she was there more than just a day when she announced that she loved it at the Villa and wanted to make it permanent! What!!?? That was awesome news!!! We wouldn't have to worry about her being home alone ever again. Since that first proclamation of love, she has rarely made any comments as to being unhappy with her new permanent living arrangement. She loves the food, loves the views and is perfectly content with every aspect. We wish she'd go play Bingo or Yahtzee with the others, but she's her own woman and used to spending her days doing what she wants. It took her a bit of adjusting to consider it a forever place, but she did just fine and has made it her home... both physically and mentally. They keep her room cleaned, any complaints are addressed and meals have been more than adequate for her and her picky tastes and likes. She's thrilled! There are several floors of residents all in different states of mind, body and life. The hallways are clear and clean. The staff is always tending to the Villa; cleaning, checking on residents and keeping things tip top. The front desk staff have always greeted me and my family with a smile and even remember who we are there to see. They even know her likes and dislikes too. Grandma loves her digs and I haven't seen her this happy (consistently) in a long time. She's back to being a happy lady again and enjoying her golden years in a peaceful, clean and enjoyable home. Thank you to La Habra Villa for all you do!!

During his…read morestay here, Monica, the woman who runs day-to-day operations, abused my father and my family's rights. I have filed for an investigation to be underway with community care licensing so that others won't ever have to be under her care ever again. My father was denied hospice care simply because Monica decided she would rather have him under her own choosing of a home health care facility. I had to step in because I felt that the things I was seeing Monica doing or denying my father of was off. Once I stepped in, my father was immediately able to be placed on hospice care. He passed away only after a few days of being on hospice. It was unfortunate what my father and my family had to go through during his stay at Bok Senior Hotel. This was only one of the many strange and unexplainably unethical things that Monica did during our short stay there. It terrifies me to know that so many people are under her direct care and supervision. It breaks my heart to think that so many other unsuspecting patients are being silently abused at this facility. The supportive staff were sweet and gentle with my father. However I did see that their level of care provided was always controlled by Monica and it was dependent on what her orders were that my father would receive or not receive certain care.
