Easily one of the worst barber experiences I've had. While I was in the chair, the barbers were loudly talking amongst themselves, casually using the word "retard" and discussing how the world is supposedly run by pedophiles. Then I mentioned that the last shop I went to was in a wonderful Salvadoran neighborhood in DC where the barbers didn't speak much English. Another barber chimed in, "Great, the nation's capital and they don't speak English." Casual racism apparently comes with the haircut. Unfortunately, the haircut itself was just as bad. I specifically asked for a burst fade. The entire cut lasted maybe 20 minutes, he left a ridiculous amount of bulk in the back, and there was essentially no blending. When I asked whether he was planning to blend the back, he rolled his eyes and exchanged a look with another barber, which I could clearly see in the mirror. At that point, I abruptly ended the haircut. The barber told me he'd only been cutting hair for two years, and it showed. Between the terrible haircut, the attitude, and the offensive conversations happening openly around clients, this place feels like it hires for the aesthetic rather than professionalism or skill. Whack shop. One star.

Today however, I was 10 minutes early as per usual for my appointments. He still had a customer in his chair. After 35 minutes of waiting, he finished his other customer and indicated that he was running late and he'd be right back after going to the coffee shop next door. He was there for 10 more minutes and came back with a plate of some food items. I told him, after waiting for what was now 45 minutes that I needed to be out the door in 20 minutes as I had another appointment. His comment, after my appointment was already 35 minutes past..... "I won't rush your cut". I told him "that doesn't change the fact that I have somewhere else to go and have to be out by 2:15. "I won't rush your cut". I walked out the door. I will not be returning. If you can't be respectful of my time, how do you expect anyone to be respectful of yours. Never going back again.

Came into this place and the guy there (who I come to find out is the owner) tells me the girl in the corner can take care of me. Nice enough girl... after talking to her for awhile, come to find out that she is not a barber. Didn't say anything... cut was average. Waited to see how it would turn out. Before I knew it she was done.... no straight razor to clean up the back of my neck. Before I came to Idaho I lived in the NYC area and was use to a little more when I got my hair cut (hot towel on your head, straight razor cleaning up your lines, even got a message machine rubbed on my back while the towel was on my head. I know I have to get use to the fact I ain't in NYC anymore but......see I always over tip my haircut guy. What ever the haircut is, I double it and the rest is their tip. I expect more for my money than what I got at this establishment. Maybe things would have been different if I had the owner cutting my hair, but I will continue the search for the right hair cutting place and will stay loyal once I have someone I like. Last guy I had for 15 years. If he would be sick or go on vacation I would wait for him. That's the loyalty you get when you give great hair cutting experience.
