From the area locally just had a last minute idea of getting breakfast. Immediately was greeted at the door and sat down. Even though it was extremely busy they took care of us! New location... New review. It's almost exactly the same interior as the old place. Counter is the exact same, wayne's coating and everything. I'll start off by saying the wait staff was great! They were patient with my nut-job family's ordering process. Breakfast was a little different than the old place. The old Amanda's had that greasy spoon taste with oozing cheese omelettes, fresh meaty corn beef hash, crunchy browned toast smeared with butter and lots of Love in the pancakes... I was excited ordering my Amanda's special but when I cut into the over easy eggs, with cheese and hash on their English muffins and take that first bite, there was no hot toasty crunch of the English muffin nor any tingly excitement from the corn beef hash. The English muffin was rare and soft not toasted til brownish and crunchy with nooks and crannies to hold the yellow egg juices as I cut through. And unfortunately, the corned beef hash I remembered so well was simple and soft, and room temperature at best. No burnt coloring from the grill, just like it was poured from the can it came in. My kid loved his omelette quesadilla and my wife her omelette, but the chocolate chip pancake my other kid never eats, really didn't have that buttery kick and semi-melted chocolate chip taste every great pancake requires. The prices were definitely a few bucks less for everything on the menu than other places in town. Parking was easy, kid friendly with 2 one person bathrooms with hand dryers. Staff is great! Menu for breakfast or lunch is diverse and unique! I may give the food a second chance, but for now I think everyone would enjoy it especially for the value and service, just ask them to tell the toaster guy, pancake guy and the hash guy to step it up a notch! haha! read more

Good, fast service. Food was good. I ordered Texas French toast with bananas. A few of the bananas were bruised not the biggest deal but I don't think you should be putting bruised fruit on something and sending it out. Other than that not issues. read more

Such a great hidden gem. It's only where the locals go. My aunt and uncle took me here for breakfast. You get what you want for an inexpensive price but great quality and you're in and out really quick. Their turnover is great. Friendly service and always busy. The cream that was left out on our table had started to curdle so our waitress Heather came really fast to take it away and gave us all new piping how tea and coffee. Very good sized portions for a very good price. I had Aline's special and it was on point. The english muffin under the corned beef hash was crispy but still soft and chewy. The corned beef hash was nice and crispy and had a good saltiness to with. Then with the runny egg yolk over it it was perfection. Love this place and cant wait to go back! read more

If you love flies, this is the place for you. The food was okay, but the flies were so bad that we took our lunch and finished in the car. The waitresses reaction was " everyplace has flies". NOT. We eat oit a lot and never experience an onslaught of flies. I shudder to think what's in the kitchen. I love supporting local businesses but sad to say I won't go back. We came here on a Saturday morning. The place has ample parking and ample seating, so getting in around 9:30 wasn't a problem. The waitress brought our party of two one menu and said she would be back with a second but never brought one. Annoying, but her service the rest of the meal made up for it. Amanda's pantry has been my favorite hole in the wall breakfast place for years. It can get a bit crowded, but they never fail to deliver with a reliable and delicious breakfast. They have unique choices such as a bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich with pancakes instead of a traditional bagel or English muffin bun (though you can get that too!). They have stuffed french toast, massive breakfast burritos with whatever you want inside, and much more. Event heir normal omletes are plump and delicious. I highly recommend this amazing place for locals and tourists alike. read more

Poached Egg Problems First time visitor. Very unimpressed. After standing at the door for a minute and being unsure if we should seat ourselves or if someone would address us, a flustered waitress said just a minute while we get you a table. Another waitress was wiping down the table and seats with a wet rag -- so wet the seat itself was covered in water when I went to sit in it. I had to wipe it off with a napkin. Then, after waiting for a few minutes for someone to set the table and greet us, we were served just awful tasting coffee. At this point, attempting to remain optomistic, I ordered poached eggs and corn beef hash. The person with me ordered Italian hash. When the meal arrived, the lukewarm, from-the-can-hash was topped with one poached egg and one completely-overcooked egg. When I asked the be-speckled redhead waitress for one that was runny, as poached eggs are meant to be, she said "Uh, sure", as if me asking for something I had ordered was an annoying request. After 12 minutes (one heck of an egg), she brought a fried egg. At this point I remind her I had poached. After another 10 minutes, she brought a runny poached egg. Third time is the charm. Too bad everything else on my plate was stone cold from waiting. I was almost enjoying it until the waitress came back over and asked, "Is that BETTER?" in the most condescending tone. Never ever going back. Service that makes you feel like the staff couldn't care less and food that comes from a can anyway. Could've made it at home. read more

First off, incorrect address. It is located at 37 Beach Street across form the old Moore Bldg. A quarter mile further up than the old place. Received a good greeting, the staff was friendly and efficient. Breakfast was hot and very good, had the Italian Hash and I would recommend it, different and tasty. eh, it was fine. There's plenty of parking & tables (bonus) so we didn't have to wait to be seated. Service was fast & friendly, regularly checked back for coffee and water refills. The food though, was just mediocre, which I suppose is fine for an inexpensive easy breakfast. Our table had an omelet, the soupy hash, and a standard 2 egg breakfast (can't remember their name for it). The omelet was okay but oddly scorched in places and raw in the very center... I asked for Cheddar cheese though & don't think I got that. It might have been white cheddar, but looked and tasted more like provolone. The hashbrowns and the homefries on all plates were overcooked & bland, which was more disappointing than the omelet. Average breakfast place and one of the few you can find in the Westerly area. Breakfast is always good and average priced. It's certainly a laid back and kid friendly place. My kids love going on Sunday mornings and getting their french toast. The french toast breakfast isn't really all that big and if an adult were to order it they would be disappointed with the size. My boys finish off the two pieces and want more food every time, they are only 4 and 5 years old, so they can't eat that much. The coffee is always fresh, breakfast is good and the ability to bring our kids without people getting annoyed is a major plus. read more

Carol called this place "where the locals eat" and that is definitely true! They nickname a lot of their dishes after local Westerlyisms. My father LOVES this restaurant because they have big portions and soupy sausage. I'm pretty sure this is the only breakfast place in Westerly where he cannot clear his plate. And this is saying something, because their home fries are so delicious you want to clear your plate. We usually do the eggs, sausage and homefries route. (I personally love the Eggs Bene which is a special on the weekends) so I can't speak for the pancakes or waffles. The prices are low enough that you can make this a regular weekly event. Keep in mind, it is within walking distance of more than one Church.. so it is swamped on Sunday. I like to frequent this venue on Saturdays for that reason. This is definitely a family friendly restaurant - a little noisy, a little chaotic but never boring. read more

I have always loved Amanda's food, and couldn't wait to try their newly opened location on Beach Street. We got there around 1 on a Saturday afternoon and although it was brisk, we were able to find a seat quickly. Our waitress brought drinks and promptly disappeared. We had to go up to the counter to ask for someone to take our order, and the situation was rectified with a smile immediately. I am in love with the Turkey, Bacon Avocado wrap and my husband spoke highly of the meatball sub. We really want to give a shout out to the sweet waitress who had to deal with a rude customer at another table who commented on her tattoo. She handled the woman so kindly, even though the customer was so very out of line. All in all, we love Amanda's for breakfast and lunch. Great food! read more

I hadn't been to Amanda's since they moved to their new location so since I was in Westerly this morning, I decided to give it a try. I was quickly seated by a friendly waitress with a coffee pot in hand, a good start. There were 20+ patrons in the room, all seniors, myself included, except for one young couple from NY on vacation. I ordered an omelet which was served with home fries. The omelet was an Italian hash omelet which had the right amount of spice and the home fries were about the best I ever had, firm with none of the soggiest you get most places. read more

Went here for breakfast 2/9/19. It was awful. I had something called "Arline's" it was 2 eggs over corned beef hash on an English muffin and topped with American cheese. The hash was out of a can and the eggs were over cooked. The meal came with home fries which tasted more like French fries, there was no seasoning or onions typically found in home fries. Also had a blueberry muffin which tasted like it came from Walmart. The menu choices are few and not your typical breakfast combinations. Almost a year later and we tried Amanda's Pantry another chance. (I passed on the 'stuffed French toast' this time) I gave them another star because the waitress was far more pleasant and prompt. The food is pretty standard for an Irish breakfast place which to me means it's a safe bet. Nothing amazing, but greasy and tasty. If you're expecting a bright and crisp environment, or looking to try something new, exciting, or healthy i would still not recommend Amanda's. But if you're hung over or don't mind being in a food induced coma for the next few hours this is a fine place to go. read more

Ordered two steak breakfast specials, very friendly waitress, however, there was a hair in my mushroom gravy then my boyfriend found a string seeming to be from an article of clothing in his home fries. Both items were removed from the bill and as we were leaving one waitress says, "are you sure you didn't purposely do that?!" Very rude and really, we only ate 1/4 of our breakfast! Not sure if they treat all their customers like that, was it me being African American or my boyfriend having a bunch of tattoos?Either way we will not come here again. read more

This is our go to place for a local breakfast. The staff here are always nice and prompt. The food is very well priced and delicious. My only complaint is the decor. It's plain with too many photos on the wall of their family. Cute family, but I feel family photos aren't meant for decorating purposes for a restaurant. read more

Excellent local diner. My wife had their version of a Western omelette that I sampled with delight and I enjoyed a nicely cooked strip sirloin steak with eggs over easy. The special which I vow to try on my next visit was steak benidect, (Bet you didn't see that coming). And even more intriguing they offer home made hash with peppers & spicy Italian sausage, Mama Mia! I gotta try some of that. So rest assured I'll be back.
