As being a member of the Paper Store Perks, I received an offer of 20% off total purchase for my birthday. The offer was valid in-store and online for a whole month and it excluded some brand names like Air & Anchor, Birkenstock, Bogg Bags, Bombas, Cotopaxi, Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments, Jellycat, kate spade NEW YORK, Owala, sale and clearance, and gift cards. I was able to use it for Lavender Wildflowers Boxed Everyday Note Cards. I continued browsing the website and saw some Jellycats that were sold out on the official Jellycats website. I was so happy to get the Little Pup Bag Charm and Amuseable Birthday Cake Plush! There were options for delivery or in-store pickup. Some Jellycats were not available for shipping and only the free pick up in store option. With that option, I was able to select which store to pickup. I submitted my order at 9:36am and at 10:35am, I received an email that my order is ready for pickup. The order has to be picked up within 5 days or the product will be returned to inventory. The Paper Store is located in Legacy Place. There are plenty of parking spots and Legacy Place has many other businesses. I browsed the store and asked a staff member where I could find the Dubai Bars. The staff member informed me they were at the checkout counter. I picked up 2 Dubai Bars ($25.00 each) for friends and a Dubai Birthday Cake ($25.00) for myself. I also informed them that I had an order to pickup. The staff member asked me for my name and brought my online order to me. After picking up my order, I received an email saying thank you for picking up your order. read more

I always have a great time walking around The Paper Store. This goes for any of their locations. They have fun gifty trinkets, clothing, puzzles, games, toys, drink ware, gadgets, jewelry, the list goes on. It's particularly fun to come here around the holidays because they have a ton of good stuff for your house or to gift somebody, but it's always staged (and organized) nicely too. I came in for a journal and some pens to get as a birthday present for my friend and I could've spent another hour walking around looking at all the other stuff they had out. Super speedy checkout. This review is only for the experience that I had yesterday. I needed to return a child's hot wheels bike that I bought for my grandson's birthday. The front wheels didn't turn, they just kept spinning, going nowhere. My grandson son was extremely frustrated because he couldn't play with it at all. He tried a few times without any success. I went to the store to return it. The young guy at the service desk called the supervisor who was not very friendly at all. He accused me of the bike being used, which was not true. He refused to refund me the amount that I paid. He did exchange it but he kept the receipts. So now I don't have any proof of the transactions. Most of the time I receive very good customer service but this time I am very disappointed with the supervisor's attitude. I lost $106. 00 and a very disappointed 5 year old boy. read more

I just love the Paper Store. Vera Bradley lanyard make a great gift. They also carry Baggallini purses. The staff were very friendly and patient with me as I tried out a variety of purses. I tried stuffing my things into each on to see which would work the best. The girl at the counter went to the back to find me different colors and was very helpful. She brought me to different areas in the store to find the right sizes and offer up different options. They offer some wonderful gifts for birthdays...hint hint. They have a wonderful jewelry area so when you are looking for that special something this is a great place to stop in at. read more

I came here to leave an honest review and not surprised that there are so many negative reviews already. Horrendous customer service from new staff to established manager. I was next in line and proceeded to head to the counter after the previous customer left. I stood there and the staff continued to chat with the other employee and never acknowledging me standing there. Not a 'I'll help you shortly' or "be right with you." I then told the manager to please tell his staff to pay attention from a customer service standpoint. The manager rolled his eyes and said the staff was training. Obviously not training on customer service. This was during a busy Saturday in the midst of the holiday rush. When confronting the manager later on being mistreated, he responded with a forced smile and 'I'm sorry you feel that way" and 'glare,' basically didn't care to hear any more about my experience. I said I'd submit a review. He said 'go right ahead.' so here we are. Sensed he was racist, could care less. A response of which I am surprised because the manager himself appears of 'mix' descent. What is up with all of the terrible reviews for this place! This is one of the largest Paper Stores in the area, with everything imaginable (for a gift shop). They have the basics (billions of cards, decorations, gift supplies, gift items), and more specialized products like clothing and Vera Bradley. My one gripe about this place is how it´s SO close to Hallmark at the Dedham Plaza. Hallmark and The Paper Store are basically the same thing, and just recently the Hallmark just downsized a LOT to a much smaller spot. Disappointing that this place took business away, since I much preferred to shop there (as parking is much easier and the atmosphere of the plaza is much less congested). Anyway, this is one great stop for anything gifty in the Dedham area, or if you´re at Legacy Place. Friendly staff and the store is always organized and clean. I don't know how they do it, but every employee is polite and welcoming. They offer help when you enter, but they are not annoyingly intrusive. They set a high bar for all retail shops. The merchandise is well-priced and varied. I can usually find something here. A-plus for customer service which is so rare these days!! read more

Last week, I visited this store and saw the Vera Bradley bags on sale. My daughter picked a bag. Her girlfriend wanted a bag but needed her mom to ok it. Since her mom was not with us, I told her to take her bag to the counter to ask about the return policy if she was to buy this bag. She came back and told me that it was 30 days to return with a receipt. I went ahead and bought both bags, based on this info. As it turned out, my daughter's girlfriend bag was too small and her mom asked me to returned it. When I tried 4 days later, I was told that sale items could not be returned and that this was stated on the receipts. I had no reason to look at my receipts at the time of purchase because of what we were told of the returned policy earlier. Basically, they apologized for giving us the wrong info. but there was nothing that they could do about it. SO beware - ask to see their return policy in writing since asking a sale clerk will not be good enough and you will be stuck with an item that you do not want. read more

I love this place!!! They have everything you could possibly imagine! They have purses, jewelry, cards, invitations and a huge section of marked down items from previous holidays that you could spend hours in! They have great Birthday gift items, too! I bought a great wine glass Birthday item for my girlfriend here and she loved it. They have some really unique items here and the prices are pretty reasonable. Not sure about the negative comment about the staff. I had a wonderful staff person helping me he even took time out to see if we could get a watch working in the clearance item rack! We couldn't but it just needed a new battery and he figured it out for me! A very nice man!! You must visit this place it's wonderful!!! read more

I came her as I needed a new mask for my family member. I wanted a specific mask. Although, you did not have the item I wanted, I have to say the the service from Karen was outstanding. She assured me that the store would be receiving new inventory soon and updated me on the sales. Karen was so approachable and welcoming. I looked forward to returning in a week for a new mask. She practiced social distancing and I felt safe while in the store. read more

I love the paper store in Natick and I shop there at least once a week. I went shopping for a particular gift at the natick store and they didn't have any left but they were extremely helpful, checked on the computer and the Dedham store had one left. They were going to hold it for a pick up on Monday. I went to Dedham today 12/15, to pick up the gift. I guess I used the wrong term when I asked for the gift that the natick store called for me and was holding. A few people looked in drawers by the register but couldn't find the gift. I explained to them that I called on Monday to tell them that I would be picking it up on Wednesday 12/15, they honored the request and said they would hold for me. However, an employee, Christine, was rude and totally dismissed my explanation. I tried explaining to a few women to please look for the gift , but she kept repeating she didn't have it anymore. She was abrupt and rude. Never offered to take my information in case they came across the gift and could call me. Christine ended up calling me (my number was in the computer) to tell me she found the gift, but I used the wrong terms: "holding" instead of "order". I ended up returning again to the store for pick up. I said to a young cashier how rude she was and she apologized for Christine. No apologies offered for either of my visits, I guess I will apologize for using the wrong term, but she needs to practice her customer service skills , be more patient and helpful especially during this holiday season. read more

I really like this store. Great selection of cards, gift wrap, gift items, funny books and Red Sox accessories and home items. Lot of cute Christmas stuff at Christmastime. For those who may be into Vera Bradley (not my thing) they have a huge selection of her bags. I feel a slight tingling of a seizure walking past all those colors and designs. I've always loved The Paper Store and was thrilled to have one open so close by at Legacy Place. Yesterday I bought a holiday gift which I changed my mind about and attempted to return today. I had the original receipt. The Manager of the store refused to accept the return because it was a Vera Bradley item that had been on sale. (we're not talking huge markdown or clearance, it was 20% off). I pointed out that this policy should be disclosed to the consumer. Super pleasant Manager pointed out that it was on the receipt. What good does that serve if it's provided AFTER the sale of the non-returnable item. How about a sign or even a verbal disclosure? Manager agreed that the sales clerk should have told me and she'd review the policy with him. Wonder if it was worth losing a lifetime customer over $22.00? read more

I purchased a pawprints ornament and found out that the person I was giving it to already had one.. tried to return it on December 28, 2013 with the original receipt and was told that I could not... it appears that on the bottom of the receipt it states that it must be returned before the 24th... I am over 50 years old and have never experienced such deceitful return policies... I WILL NEVER shop there again and will inform everyone I know about this issue... read more
