    Drunken Angel
    Lily M.

Hands down the best pasta I've ever had, no exaggeration. The drunken angel is creamy, savory and absolutely mouth watering. I'm still craving it. All the dishes we tried were so good. Our start of the charbroiled oysters was an amazing choice. They were perfectly flavored and served warm. The hush puppies were crispy but not dry, with a lil spice to them. My parents loved both their dishes as well! Highly recommend trying them if you make a visit to Tuscan! We were sat outside due to how busy it was (was still beautiful) but if you want inside come at an odd time of day or make a reservation. Our server was amazing too, very informative and attentive! Let us know all the specials and was very kind and warm!

    Trout.... So tasty!

Tasty food and great service! Loved the dark decor upon entering! Ample seating both in and out.... And busy! As a frequent solo traveler, I'm used to getting seated at the bar. And usually the service is ok. But here, the service was outstanding. I strolled in after a hike thirsty and hungry. This bartender was diligent in keeping that sparkling water flowing. She's a gem. Dinner was trout and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked. Sides were great, too. 10/10. I'll definitely be back and will be sharing this spot with my coworkers.

The eclectic decor was the best thing about this place. My guy and I tried Guedry's Gumbo and added shrimp. We love gumbo normally, but this wasn't anything special. It was very peppery, heavy on the rice vs protein, and very unmemorable. The hush puppies it came with were really nicely cooked and had a good crisp to them. I enjoyed the gumbo only when dipping the hush puppies in them. For dessert, we tried the Pickle Berry Pie since we had never heard of anything like that before. Every bite was a punch of flavor and not in a good way. There was just too much going on and it became overwhelming after the 2nd or 3rd bite. Interesting to try, but I would not get it again nor recommend. This was the most expensive gumbo I've ever had and it was probably the least satisfying. Thankfully, I was not too hungry because I do not have high hopes for their other dishes.

We've been maybe three times now on various Tucson visits & had a wonderful dinner this time. Great server, Raymond, knowledgeable & around when needed. Cute interior, fun cocktails. Happy hour 3pm-6pm. We got the roasted oysters but were disappointed in them. They were not like roasted oyster we had in NO. They had some kind of a spicy creamy sauce which just overtook the oysters. Just this cream of mushroom soup-like quality, barely taste the texture of the oysters. (Go with the raw). I had the rainbow trout which was perfection, very very good. Husband had the gumbo with shrimp & hush puppies & he loved his meal--excellent! I swapped him a hush puppy for one of my potato wedges, and they were one of the best I've had. Chopped jalapeño bits & very crispy exterior.

This is hands down our favorite restaurant in Tucson. Loved the vibe and the service was great. We had the salmon and the shrimp and grits. Both dishes had amazing flavors and kept you wanting more. We would eat here every night if possible. A must when in the area! Love it!

    Shrimp & Grits -

Absolutely amazing! I was having a conversation with my brother and he said I got something you need to see. I went to pick him and he said look up this place and let's ride. The drive was about 90 miles for us and it was completely worth it. I'd definitely recommend this place and I'm going to return for sure!!!

Oyster po-boy and hush puppies. Delicious!
    Marion R.

I haven't been here in years, but we went there today for lunch, and it was so good! The oyster po-boy and hush puppies were perfect. My husband loved his Nashville hot chicken sandwich and the side salad. I had a bite too and it was crazy spicy, but yum! Love the decor-very New Orleans! Made me want to go on a trip. The service was really good too-our server kept that Diet Coke coming.

Shrimp and grits (one of the best meals I've ever eaten)
    Chelsea J.

Still a 10/10. The service is the best, the food is incredible. I tried the mussels for the first time and they were fresh, bursting with flavor, and the portion size was huge. I also got my favorite meal there, shrimp and grits, and learned you can split it between 2 plates and each person gets a full size of collards. There are very few tables so make a reservation because they're almost always booked up.

    Elizabeth O.

I got the shrimp and grits which were great! Service was friendly and attentive. Been here a few times and the food is consistent and delicious.

    Nice big bar area

Excellent selection of dishes on the menu. Service is amazing. Laid back bar and casual dining area look quaint. Relaxing atmosphere. Had Drunken Angel and it was amazing! Come with an appetite! Large portions!

    Hushpuppies Beer Batter Catfish -

The food was nice and tasty! I enjoyed my beer battered catfish, as I am picky eating seafood at restaurants. I went with my friend during lunch hours, so there was a wait. However, the waiters were really nice and professional as well.

Shrimp & Grits Cup of Guedry's Gumbo
    Khwame J.

The Shrimp & Grits is delicious, added with the greens and I was highly impressed and enjoyed it. The sausage was stated to be andouille however I'm not so sure about them... the added addition of the sausage on the back side of the plate doesn't offer a visual appearance, as I was thinking they would be cooked with the S&G not just added on the back. The cup of Gumbo was not my favorite, however I have never like filé which is why opted for the cup. Service was a little slow as I sat for about 5-10 minutes without being approached or even serviced. Seems like the waitress either had too much on her plate at the time or needs help.

    The Parish Burger Dinner
    Leah G.

We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday and it was just what we wanted! I made a reservation a few days before so we were seated promptly on a Friday night! Our drinks were perfect. I got the Mrs. KC mule, and my husband got a Sazerac and the specialty drink that was Tucson City of Gastronomy certified. All of them were fantastic! For dinner, we had the cornbread and frog legs as appetizers, and my husband got the parish burger. All of our items were delicious! The cornbread was some of the best I had ever had. I had the mesquite salmon salad and like other reviewers have said, it was some of the best salad I've had in Tucson! The decor and ambiance really added to the food as well. We will be back!

Like, don't come here expecting an intimate, quiet dinner kind of loud. This is more "laughing over music, people-watching, and soaking up the energy" kind of place. Now let's talk food, because that's where they pleasantly surprised me. They actually have a legit vegan option that doesn't feel like an afterthought (which I always appreciate). I went with the vegan curry and wow--it was delicious. Rich, comforting, and packed with flavor, with a mushroom-forward sauce and sweet potatoes that just worked so well together. We also had the olive oil bread, which was simple but so good, plus almonds and Brussels sprouts that were absolutely worth ordering. Everything felt shareable and fun, which fits the whole vibe of the place. This isn't where I'd go for a quiet date night or a five-star fine dining experience--but that's not what it's trying to be. It's where you go to hang out, eat good food, sip drinks, and just have a really fun time. Would I come back? Definitely.

The grilled chicken sandwich is my go-to and it's good every time. We both usually get one, and a lot of the time we'll add buffalo wings, which are some of our favorites in Tucson. Good flavor, good texture, and always reliable. If anything, the wings could always use a little more sauce, but they're still one of the better orders on the menu. The only real issue, and it happens pretty often, is the service speed. Everyone there is friendly, but the place always feels understaffed, especially when it's busy. We've had multiple times sitting outside in the Arizona heat where it takes 15-20 minutes just to get water to the table, and you start wondering if you should go up to the bar yourself to get things moving. My friend is still getting the lay of the Tucson land and had read about our Tucson Iron Chef, Ken…read moreFoy. We needed a Monday, late-ish dinner venue and this was open. Ashley was our bartender/server and advised that the Cucumber Martini was their most popular - a really lovely fusion of three different cucumber sources along with three types of citrus ($14). My friend gravitates towards good bourbons so she got the Pecan Old Fashioned ($14). Both were deeelicious. We were bummed to learn they were out of their famous escargot so we ordered the Wild Mushroom w/ Baked Brie ($17) - warm, savory, if a bit salty. Their incredible (dense, chewy) bread that is gratis with dinner ended up being a perfect pairing for the brie and Ashley readily brought us a second helping to help polish it off. We also split the Pappardelle Diablo entree (pasta with crab and chorizo in a pepper/cajun cream sauce - $31). As expected, it's a bit heavy-rich, with decent amounts of shredded crab and crumbled chorizo. We nearly closed the place down and, dutifully, left a gracious tip to our all-purpose hostess, bartender, waitress, and superwoman, Ashley. Parking is ample/free in their private lot and ambience is cozy. I read that Dante's might be pivoting to a more "local/bar" theme later this year, to include a simpler-foods menu and maybe even pool tables. I'm not sure that's going in the right direction, especially with Culinary Dropout across the street but then I appreciate the thin margins and challenging economy of running a restaurant. Whatever Ken does will be worth trying!

My husband got chicken marsala and I ordered the pappardelle diablo, which was absolutely amazing. I'd totally order it again, but I want to order everything else on the menu. The only negative was that the bread wasn't ready until we were leaving, so we missed out on that crusty goodness. Next time, maybe, since we'll definitely be back.
