I ordered this for dinner yesterday, because I was craving lasagna. I also ordered the chicken parm with cavatelli because you never know if anyones portion size is enough to fill you up. There was a ton of cheese on the lasagna. I wish it had been baked a bit longer to brown and crisp up the cheese. But it was tasty. The noodles were a bit overdone... but i devoured the entire thing in one sitting. Garfield style... Very good. The garlic bread came on a half of an italian roll, also tasty... no issues. I had the chicken parm and cavatelli for lunch today. Pretty solid... no complaints. I will likely be back to try something else. read more

Paul loves Pasta House Bolognese, so we always visit while in the St.Louis area. We were greeted by happy and smiling employees, immediately seated and our drink order was quickly taken. Pasta House has a special 5 for $35 (for two people), so since bolognese was one choice, we took advantage. Our app. was toasted ravioli, a St. Louis specialty, then we each chose their Italian salad and of course the signature rolls arrived with the salads. The ravioli, salads, bread and spaghetti bolognese with added meatballs was all up to par, but I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo topped with fried chicken livers (which is what I typically order here). The added chicken livers were $5 and I got quite a few. The trouble is that upon my first cut, I saw that the livers were undercooked. The waitress took my plate back. Shortly thereafter, the manager came out to apologize and state that they would make a new order and put in the front of other orders. They may have done that, but Paul was finished with his pasta before my re-do arrived. I wasn't starving, so I didn't fuss about it. However, we both kind of thought they would at least comp the order of chicken livers. Many restaurants we have eaten at would have even comped the meal. I will say that the re-do pasta looked much better than the original and tasted great. But, I should not have had to wait that long to get my pasta. That is why this is a 3 vs 4 star experience. The ambiance is casual, I love all the black and white pictures and the layout of this Pasta House. I will say that some extra elbow grease on the cleaning aspect would be a positive improvement. Great service with great lunch specials. For one side and a mostaciolli , it cost around 10-11 bucks!! They even have Coke Zero which is a big plus. I'm old enough to remember when pasta house was good. i haven't been in years because I've developed a gluten intolerance. No gluten and Italian aren't exactly synonymous. PH has added a gf menu and my friend suggested we go try it. i ordered the gf chicken Parmesan - i had hoped that meant they used gf bread crumbs for the chicken. nope. Just a very small, tough, plain piece of chicken with some sauce and cheese next to a pile of mushy, flavorless broccoli.... that's $20. The side salad is another $4 instead of being one of the available sides. The salad was mostly edible, minus the 4 or 5 chunks of core and i don't recall seeing any artichoke heart. I ate the salad and chicken, leaving most of the broccoli on the plate. Really disappointing and massively overpriced. Service was fine. read more

I asked if I could go to the next table to leave one in between and the host said yes. Then 5 minutes later they sat a three top with a kid in the empty booth and the kid was jumping around on the side I backed up to. So annoying! I ordered a 6pc Toasted Ravioli and the Rigatoni Roma with no peas or mushrooms. The food was actually hot, fresh, and really good. The pasta portion was generous and I couldn't finish it. Had a late lunch and decided to head to the pasta house. Had never been to this location. I ordered the meatball parmigiano lunch special. It came with a very large salad that was delicious. Two big meatballs in red sauce, and my choice of red or white sauce pasta. The meatballs were very good. The white sauce pasta was a little bland. Could've definitely use some seasoning. I came in with my grandma to have a quick lunch on a Friday afternoon at about 1230. There were only maybe 10 other people in the restaurant at this time. We were seated after about five minutes and seated at a booth. We had bright windows that we were sitting next to which was really nice because the restaurant was a little dim. Also, the window we were sitting next to you is kind of shattered. It looks like a rock must've hit it, but still plenty of lighting. Our server promptly greeted us and brought us our drinks within a few minutes. We received your order within 15 minutes after ordering and also received our salads with our entrées and rolls with our entrées. Our order did not come as we ordered it. I believe the server got orders mixed up, but it was so delicious and she was very kind. I would definitely still come back and support this location because the customer service is great. Just moved to the area and had to try Pasta House. Where we lived previously we went every Thursday night and wanted to get started again. First off, the service was excellent, from the moment you walk in the door until you leave, wonderful employees. The food was a different story. We started with salads, lettuce fresh, but barely a spoonful of pimento, no artichoke, or cheese. The dressing was not mixed properly, mostly oil, no vinegar taste. Ordered the tortellini, the bottom of the bowl was a large amount of water, either the pasta was not drained properly or the sauce is heavily watered down. The pizza. We ordered 2 meats, only had one. Crust was burnt all the way around the edges and part of the bottom . Had to cut it with our knives, it was cut in to a few huge pieces. The cheese on it was different than what most Pasta Houses use and was flavorless. Honestly we were so disappointed, we have gone to Pasta House for decades even though we lived right by the Hill before we moved here. I guess if we want Pasta House we will have to drive back to the one in Affton, the chef there is absolutely amazing and worth the drive. We are so sad about this as they have been a constant in our food decision when eating out. read more

I usually love any salad with artichokes, but The Pasta House Salad was really disappointing. It was described as having artichoke hearts, not one small piece of an artichoke heart and a small inedible skin. It had more pimiento than artichoke. When I am purchasing a salad, at a restaurant, especially, I am of the mindset that I shouldn't have to prep it. That it should come already prepped and ready to eat. But there was a big lettuce core right up top of my bowl, the first thing that caught my eye. I'm wondering why they couldn't see it and/or would give that to anyone, especially in this smallish salad, being touted as "Grande". Overall, the salad was a big disappointment.
