Wanted to try a pizza. A lovely woman at the bar took my takeout order for a large Supreme. When I picked it up I noticed that the lid wouldn't close entirely...?due to the fact the pizza was slightly larger than the box. I was told their pizza was good, I would call it Amazing! We made reservations for six to follow our grandson's graduation on a Sunday at The Family Arena in St. Charles. Even though we were 25 minutes early, our table was ready and we were immediately seated. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and also minutes after we were seated by our server. Our server was friendly and efficient. Drinks were delivered and refilled, as necessary. The ambiance is casual and comfortable. The decor is simple and tasteful. We waited a reasonable amount of time for our food, which was delivered hot and tasty. The only dish that wasn't 100% was my Chicken Spedini. I have had it there once before and it was amazing. This time, the lemon sauce was thick and sweet. Last time it was lemony and buttery. Otherwise, the Veal Parm was perfect, as were all of the other dishes. Fratelli's is one of those special places that we go for celebration or fine dining. The restaurant kicks an attitude of classic Italian dressed in modern clothing. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant like she knew the importance that we were taken care of and tried to develop and conversation as if we were real people. Cute place for dinner. We went at 5pm on a Friday and it was poppin'! An hour long wait for two people. But it was great! The menu had a nice selection of items and everything sounded good. We went with the carbonara and of of their most popular dishes, the Tutto Mare. Both dishes were a good size and yummy! Definitely not the best pasta we have had but much better than other pastas we have had elsewhere. I'd say the best part of our experience was the service and staff. I visited on a busy Saturday night where most people were waiting for a table, but we had a reservation for our group and we were able to be seated immediately. The ambience was contemporary and comfortable. Even though the restaurant was full, the noise level was tolerable. I was greeted warmly by the hostess station, and within two minutes of sitting, our server, Kimberly, was already there asking if I needed a drink. She was very attentive throughout my entire visit including filling drinks constantly, asking if we needed anything and bringing a dessert menu at the conclusion of our meal. 4.5 stars on service. I haven't been to this location in many years. The food was a mixed bag for me. I was surprised that the only vegetarian pasta sauce was the Pomodoro because apparently all of the other ones have chicken broth in them. I'm not a big fan of the Pomodoro sauce as it's mostly large chunks of tomato and not very saucy. I would love for the restaurant to add a vegetarian marinara. Complimentary fresh bread with butter is brought to the table and you have the option of doing the olive oil and Parmesan mix. I appreciated that option. The bread was soft, fresh and above average in taste. I started with a side house salad with the house dressing. It's really good, but please know that it's made with iceberg lettuce and the house dressing includes anchovies, in case you're vegetarian. One of my dining companions ordered the fried zucchini sticks, and they were really good. My order was the eggplant Parmesan with a side of pasta with the Pomodoro sauce. I was a little confused why it was served with a wedge of lemon. The portions are large and I will definitely get another meal or two out of mine. The eggplant Parmesan was adequate. It was a little high in sodium for my palate but tolerable. The side pasta with Pomodoro sauce was better than average, but not outstanding. One of my dining companions ordered the margherita pizza and it was so salty that it wasn't edible and she sent it back. The dessert menu looked really good, but we didn't order anything off of it on this visit. They stay very busy on the weekends so maybe it was just an off night. read more

I routinely pick up one of the Fratelli's pizzas and take it to my office for the staff to enjoy. They all love it and say it is the best pizza they have tasted. I've been here several times & it's always a good experience! It's located in a shopping center. There's both tables & booth and the aesthetic is clean although it still feels homey. There's both tables and booths along the walls. If you're in a larger party I def recommend calling ahead. We've had cocktails here, chicken parm sandwich, grilled chicken panino sandwich, fratellis salad, chicken Alfredo, tutto mare, spaghetti, the al formaggio, and the affogato. Everything has been delicious, fresh, and hot! The only complaint I'd make is that although it says panini for sandwiches they aren't the traditional paninis that are pressed & grilled but instead are just sandwiches so that was disappointing to find out after the fact. The staff are so friendly and attentive we hadn't been for almost 2 months and our waitress still remembered us & what I usually order. I love getting the al formaggio but instead of ravioli I get fettuccine, I love being able to have a portion of all 3 yummy sauces they have. Overall a great restaurant! I love that it's family owned, fresh ingredients, and a lot of stuff made from scratch (complimentary bread is yummy). My only true complaint would be that they don't sell that creamy Italian dressing by the bottle, would totally buy it all the time it's so yummy! Food was average for Italian in this area. I have had much better. I had Veal Marsala. A well used dish in Italian restaurants. It was dry and crunchy. I couldn't eat it. The salad and the Spumoni ice cream were good. The white sauce was sticky. I was disappointed. My husband had a dish off the menu. It was Tutta Mare with Pesto. If you want an authentic Italian restaurant NOT ON THE HILL, then you must give Fratelli's a try. We walked in to a pleasant, homey Italian atmosphere where delicious aromas of tomatoes and garlic called you in. The menu is full of dishes to try, and me being me, I had to order the lasagne. I feel like the level of goodness of the lasagne will tell me how good the rest of the menu will be! I like that there are both tables and booths, so you can choose your level of comfort. The homemade salad dressings are spot on and the salads are dressed appropriately with just enough dressing. Have been wanting to try Fratelli's for a while now! I Knew how popular they were because they don't offer takeout on Friday and Saturdays, showing how busy they get. We had a 45 minute wait for a two-top at about 5:30 on a Saturday, but the wait wasn't so bad because you can take your notification buzzer with you while you shop most surrounding stores. I spent my 45 minute wait at the used bookstore around the corner! The inside of Fratelli's is very modern and made to accommodate groups. A lot of groups and families were present having a great time. Because of the groups it did get quite loud on a packed Saturday evening. The service was incredible! Our server Torrie was wonderful! Very kind and attentive and always with a smile, despite how busy things were. Those busboys were also on their games, a dirty plate never lasted on the table for more than 5 minutes, and our waters were always topped off. The food was also quality! Very reasonable prices for a sit down Italian restaurant and the portions were generous! My veal Marsala was hand battered and covered with a rich and tangy Marsala sauce. While my wife opted for the classic Pasta Con Broccoli with chicken. They use a fun Rose' sauce (a red and white sauce mix) on the pasta that gives it a fun twist on a classic. It had a strong fruity flavor, with hints of cherry and orange. For the entrees, two of us ordered fettuccine with grilled chicken, which had an amazing flavor and was very creamy. One had spaghetti and meatballs and the other had beef ravioli with the pink sauce (red and white sauce combined). Everything was very good and the service was great.
