    Vongole

First time at The Pasta Joint and was very impressed. The mozzarella 4 ways and Beet salad as starters were great. Ordered the focaccia bread as well and think it's made in house, delicious! For pasta we had the Chitarra & Vongole and the Pappardelle Porcini. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the Vongole was amazing and the mushroom pasta was earthy and delicious. Great Pasta Joint and will be back and try something new next time! Our server Spencer was great!

We had an amazing experience eating dinner, appetizers, and drinks at The Pasta Joint. We absolutely LOVED the meat and cheese plate. The veggies were to die for and our server was equally as great! It was a relaxing time and worth every penny. Because of the cozy quarters, make sure to get a reservation.

Service was excellent--our waiter was very attentive and made the night run smoothly. The ambiance is really unique; the space is small and intimate, and learning that the building actually used to be a jail added such a cool, historic vibe to the dinner. As for the food, the mussel starter was delicious (definitely order the focaccia bread to dip in the broth!). The Osso Bucco was a huge highlight--as someone who has never had it before, this was a fantastic introduction, and it paired perfectly with the greens and potatoes. The squid ink pasta was stellar, though the bolognese was just interesting--not my personal favorite. The only letdown was the lava cake. It didn't have a molten center (tasted just like regular cake), and the strawberry sauce tasted a bit like it came from a carton. Still, a great spot in Boone overall.

This place nailed it. True Italian preparation, delivery and taste. Felt like I was back in Naples, Italy. I served overseas and was blessed to be stationed in Naples. Ingredients, recipes: authentic. Enjoy!

The Pasta Joint is a great date night spot if you're looking for a romantic ambiance and tasty Italian food. However the portions are quite small, so you can expect to pay a fair amount for a full meal. We weren't too hungry, so we got two appetizers and two half portions of pasta. Because they don't take reservations for small parties, the wait time was very long for a table of two on a Saturday night. We ended up waiting for 40 minutes or so. For appetizers, we got the Grilled Octopus and House Made Focaccia. The Grilled Octopus was my favorite thing that night! It had a lovely charred flavor and was served with a really tasty sauce / vinaigrette. For entrees, we got half portions of the Pappardelle Porcini and Butternut Squash Ravioli. The Pappardelle Porcini was good and had a nice mix of mushrooms. The Butternut Squash was incredible and I loved the filling of the ravioli and the brown butter sage sauce that came with it.

Spaghettini amatriciana, gnocchi cacio E pepe, pappardelle porcini and focaccia that is baked daily.

Our server was excellent and so was the food. Pasta comes in either appetizer or entree portions which allows you to try a couple of different things if you wish. The focaccia is a must try!

Granted I love anything eggplant haha but these fries were crispy on the outside and soft inside; well-seasoned and I loved the garlicky aioli. - Goat Cheese and Pancetta Salad: A close second favorite- it was so tasty (had spring mix, crispy brussels, pancetta, pepitas, goat cheese, fig vinaigrette), had a great combination of sweet/savory, and lots of texture. - Mushroom Marsala: This was the best pasta dish imo. The mushrooms & sauce provided a lot of umami and the pappardelle had good texture. For all the pasta dishes, a bigger piece of bread would have been appreciated to slop up all the delicious sauce haha. - Pasta Rossa: The sauce was tomato-y and creamy, but wish there could have been more/bigger meatballs and that a different pasta than pappardelle was used. - Chicken Alfredo: Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Alfredo at baseline bc it's usually too rich for me but my sister liked it. The fettuccine had nice texture and chicken was cooked well. - Duck Sliders: I probably would not recommend this dish- I think the duck is hard to appreciate in slider format (kinda just tasted like chicken lol). The chips were a bit soggy too. Lots of free parking available. Ambiance is really nice, modern and lots of natural light. Service is friendly and fast. 7.5/10 would recommend!

We were greeted promptly and were seated. Great menu selection for primarily Italian food. Something for everyone. We opted for two appetizers: the garlic knots and Caesar fries. The knots were 10/10. Slathered in butter and garlic with enough pooled butter to soak up with your knots. I was kiddish on the fries. Seemed like a strange marriage but they were really good. Loaded with parm cheese and bacon as well. 9/10 We decided to order an 18" Buffalo chicken pizza to things off. The pizza was really good but there was too much Buffalo sauce for our liking which turned the pizza into a knife and fork event. It was impossible to pick up and eat. There was plenty of chicken on it and lots of cheese as well. It came with optional bleu cheese crumbles which I highly recommend. My advise to you is to order less buffalo sauce. There was so much on ours it made it sloppy and soggy. Flavor was good. Execution needs improvement. Crust was excellent. Hand tossed and artisan. 8/10 for the excess sauce. Oh, also, the plates you get for the pizza are comically small. Our slices hung off 2 inches front and back. Made the knife and fork thing more difficult. If you get a larger pizza, request larger plates. You'll thank me later. We split a tiramisu for dessert and it was great. 10/10, great coffee flavor, creamy and not too sweet. Highly recommend. Both appetizer, 18" pizza and a tiramisu came to $55. We all had water. This place isn't cheap but the food is good and the so is the service and atmosphere. Make it a must when you get into Boone next time.

Everything was bad from the service (or lack thereof) to the food. We waited 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. Then, we saw her tell our order to the bartender and we never saw her again. 20 minutes later, the bartender brings our drinks and asks if our order had been taken. After hearing it had not, he tried to take our order, however, as the bartender, he could not answer our questions about the menu. After taking our order, It was another 20 minutes before the salads arrived. We finished our salads and sat another 35 minutes before our food arrived. The salad bowls were still sitting on the table. My chicken piccata was inedible. The chicken was literally covered in so much sauce, it splashed all over the table when the food runner sat it down. The sauce was so overpowered with lemon that it was sour. The chicken was like rubber and I thought I would choke trying to chew it. We were in the restaurant nearly 3 hours. We did not have dessert (weren't even asked if we wanted to). And we saw the people at tables around us having the same experience. It us so sad to see a once favorite place decline in such a drastic way. I typically will not leave a review if I cannot leave a good one, but this experience was so terrible, others should be made aware.
