My husband and I were not impressed at all. This was our first (and only) time checking the Patio out. The service was very subpar. We waited for over 10 minutes before the server came to the table to take the drink order. It was 5 p.m. on a Saturday and it wasn't that busy. The food came out quickly and tasted fine, which is why I gave it a 2nd star. I ordered the chicken poblano and my husband ordered the deserita tacos. My husband said the tacos were dry and boring. I thought the chicken poblano tasted flavorful and overall was worth the cost. The server didn't provide refills timely and there were moments were she seemed to deliberately ignore my husband when he tried to grab her attention. By far the worst experience I've ever been through! Waited 45 minutes for a table and another hour and a half for our food! When we got our food it was cold and tasted like durst liver! Not too shabby. The remodeling looks great and it's spacious inside and the patio outside is nice. We went on a Saturday night close to closing time and it wasn't busy at all. Our server was named Karim (I think) and he was fantastic, very nice and attentive. My boyfriend and I both ordered the Texas tacos, and they were a little dry, as in they could have benefited from a little something extra on them besides lettuce/tomato/cheese, though the server did bring out some red salsa with them. The rice and beans were really good, though! The appetizer of fried okra was tasty and I was surprised they gave as much as they did. This place has great food! We love their burgers, steak nachos, poblano omelette and chicken and waffles (brunch Saturday and Sunday). The Patio has approx 40 beers on tap and can make a great classic margarita, Paloma or mimosa. Friends say the boost Mary is great too. You will get friendly service here and enjoy a great patio with shade and heaters. Garage style doors open on nice days for a great indoor/outdoor breeze. Nicely remodeled but poor service and food was not very good. We went on a Sunday night and very few tables filled so it seemed like only one server working both inside and patio. The four of us ordered appetizer of quest which was good, salsa was tasty but runny. I had 3 taco meal, shells were store bought and fillings were okay tasting, but my refried Beans were way too salty and rice was plain. My husband had ribeye plate and the ribeye was super thin and over cooked. Our daughter has bean and cheese nachos that was 10 or so individual chips with beans and cheese on them, basically $1/chip! Our friend has salmon spinach salad that was good except salmon was over cooked and when bill (finally) came we were charged different price than menu stated. No refills on drinks and I had to go ask hostess for our bill after sitting for 10-15 minutes after done eating. My husband and I tried this place for the first time yesterday, and we were definitely pleased with it overall. The atmosphere of the inside was "colder" than I expected--very metallic. But there's lots of tvs for watching sports throughout the entire room. The patio on the outside was nice with TVs and large heaters for the winter--definitely a good place for afternoon happy hour. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was pretty good. Larry I think? He made a really great skinny margarita--it's did NOT taste like it was just tequila and store bought mix. We ordered the choriqueso, which is their version of queso fundido. It was pretty good! The melted cheese was nice, with lots of chorizo, avocado, and cilantro. My husband ordered the steak tacos, and I got the tacos al pastor. The tacos al pastor did not come out like I expected. They were a little dry and lacked the strong flavor profile pastor usually has. They were just ok. My husband steak tacos on the other hand were amazing! The steak was so good! It was cooked perfectly and the flavor was fantastic. The only negative about his dish was all the jalapeño. The tacos came with strips of grilled jalapeño inside them. I'm a fan of spicy, but that was even too much for me, so we had to pick it out. Otherwise, it was really good! I had the eggs Benedict. They really need to fry up fresh bacon instead of using microwave bacon as it's way TOO salty, and it cheapens the dish. The red potatoes were cut fresh and tasted good. The Benedict was hot and fresh and the bread was soft and not hard as a rock. I was rather impressed since 99 percent of the restaurants in this area are disgusting and poorly managed. I'm so excited for this restaurant. If it keeps dishing out and serving the way it does it's bound to survive the "curse" of this building. The food is SO incredibly good. My first experience here was a few days after it opened and I wasn't very pleased - the service was slow and my food was undercooked. I decided to give it another try and I'm so glad I did. The Brunch is phenomenal and not just for "Midland Standards" I've gone two days in a row to enjoy it. Everything I've had thus far is incredibly seasoned, each meal boasting their own flavors. Bad customer service, our waiter had a bad attitude and smelled like smoke, had to pay for chips and salsa.. and the salsa was a small, basic and unflavorful, the meat was not marinated, the "queso" was thick stringy cheese... the guacamole was okay until I found a hair in it, and lettuce was filled at the bottom. Seemed like penny pinchers because they didn't allow you to get a selection of taco for your plate, you have to get 4 of the same kind of taco, and pay extra for rice and beans. I like this place! My husband likes this place! We have been here twice and sit at the bar, our bartenders have been really awesome. Even though they are busy they still take the time to actually be nice. Watching the interaction of wait staff with other customers seems very positive. I give them two stars only because we did not have to wait long to seat our party of six and my friends said their meals at least tasted good. Even though our group size was only six people, they charged a mandatory 18% tip for very slow service. My fajita salad sucked especially for $16. The atmosphere was very loud. They really need to put some soundproofing in that huge room or maybe some barriers to keep everything from echoing call. Wow! Never disappointed in the sub par service in Midland. Just had a beer and fajitas here. The beer took over 30 minutes fajitas over an hour. Description says guacamole pico and shredded cheese! Non of which appeared on or with fajitas store bought corn tortillas when asked for flour. When I got the bill I was charged for upgraded beer when I asked for Miller lite! Finally the change was all in $5 change from a$25 Bill ! Nice minimum 20% tip!!! Mediocre food! CRAPPY SERVICE! will I go back?! Probably not... why Midland why?! We have been here twice and have been very pleased both times. The fajitas, desebrada tacos, steak & egg plate, and sopapilla dessert are all fantastic. (Not to mention the fresh salsa and great queso!) The service can be a bit slow if it is busy, but we don't mind waiting a bit for quality food that's prepared and plated well. We will keep coming back! I am really hoping people give this place a try and that it's able to stick around unlike the previous restaurants that have been in the building.
