Dark interior with cool lighting. A respite from the outdoor heat.

Does not look like much from the street, but it is definitely a spot where the locals go, and the food is excellent! I started with a rattlesnake Margarita... Delicious. I ordered the bacon and blue burger... One of the best burgers I ever ate, with fig jam, and balsamic caramelized onions. Burgers don't come with a side, but I ordered sweet potato fries, and they were delicious and came with a side of homemade ranch. There was only one waitress working the room... She was making drinks, taking orders and serving the food. She did it all with an apology if there was too much time and a smile. She was great!

Brunch at The Patriot did not disappoint! Bobbie made the absolute best espresso martinis . I got to try four different flavors and they were all amazing, but the chocolate one stole my heart. On top of that, my bagel sandwich was fresh, flavorful, and so satisfying. Service was super fast! Between the food, drinks, music, and great vibes, this spot is a must for brunch! 10/10

Where has this place been hiding for all my visits to Ridgecrest! Hubby (who grew up in RC) said that the town has long been needing this kind of place. It was a bowling alley once upon a time but it doesn't feel like the bar and restaurant were shoehorned it. It's a good flow from the bar to the tables with the pool area off to the side. The large open area was being used for a cornhole competition and there were high top tables around the edges for people to cheer on their teams. We did park in the back and walked all the way around to the front that faces the road to Trona. That one enters into the bar and Doja the Hostess with the Mostest came over to let me pet and adore her. Hubby & I walked up to the sign that said Stop Here and we did. I wish I could remember her name...but she was our server. She gave us a choice of places to sit and took our drink orders. Hubby had two Jack Sours which he enjoyed a lot. I had water...I had to drive us back to the Best Western. First - server took great care of us. She stopped by regularly but didn't hover to see if we needed anything. Second - food came out quickly and was so good. I had the grilled steak salad and they used a lovely mix of greens that were fresh. And the tomatoes were ripe. The grilled steak was perfectly medium rare, had a nice smoke ring, and solid beef flavor. Hubby had the French Dip and intended on only eating half but it was so good, he finished it. (note, the only green thing on that plate was the pickle and no fries or anything. And that's ok. The price was very affordable for all that delicious rib eye.) Third - I found the people there to be kind, polite, and fun. There were a lot of families and they were having a nice time as well. We exited the side entrance that takes you out to the patio, and then we went out the gate and walked back around to our car. We'll be back.

Outstanding service, but the tri-tip sandwich was not cut properly cut causing the meat to be tough. Also the the bread was not toasted.

If you avoid fried food you need to know that Ale's hand breads their Seafood. This means you can order yours GRILLED! My favorites are grilled catfish and scallops with lemon pepper. Their coleslaw is delicious so I get double and skip the fries. We frequently go to the Central Coast and even there Ale's Seafood in Ridgecrest is often better! The decor is super fun and reggae music is a beach lover's choice. The servers are great here, so friendly and careful to get it your way. Ridgecrest, treat yourself more often at Ale's Crab House and your body will thank you!

It's nice that there is a restaurant in town with fresh fish. Our server was awesome. We were going to a tiki themed place (which you should 100% try to find if you are in town) afterwards and the server shared some cool info about it when we mentioned it. I ordered fish and chips, against my better judgement, and it was just OK. I'm a fan of beer batter that builds up more than a thin crust on the fish, and this wasn't that. On top of that, the cod was a little over cooked (a bit of a theme for the other Ale's as well). That said, the flavor profile was good and their tartar sauce was on point. I had the option for seasoned fries or steak fries and opted for the steak fries to save some sodium intake. I'd probably shorten my life slightly and get the seasoned fries next time. My wife had a salad that was very similar to the other Ale's -- lots of iceberg lettuce and overcooked chicken. We also had the clam chowder, which had a good consistency but was just a touch fishy. I still enjoyed it, though. They have a pretty good selection of beer and other drinks, as well. The decor is informal and overall I liked the place. Between the two Ale's I'd probably give a slight nod to the original, but they are very similar restaurants other than the focus on seafood here.

I was surprised when I finally tried Happy Hours that their menu is almost identical to what I remembered of Schooners, so I thought maybe I could come around. They have a decent draft beer list, and long cocktail menu, as well as very similar daily deals throughout the week to what Schooners had. The interior is pretty dark, with black and white decor - they removed the rustic charm from Schooners without really adding any improvements imo. The chicken caesar salad I had my first visit was not very good, the chicken was clearly from frozen. However the buffalo chicken fries my table shared were pretty good. My second visit I got the buffalo chicken wrap which I enjoyed, but the service that visit was awful. They seemed severely understaffed, and it took over an hour from when we sat down to when we got our food. Overall probably won't be trying here again for a while.

Awesome! They have daily menu specials too. I like bar bites and they have a good simple menu. My favorite item is the 3 crispy taco plate. Can't forget the fried pickles... Good draft beer selection and the beer is nice and cold.
