Uneven cuts (especially ears and tail there were multiple long, scraggly pieces), improper ear cleaning, product was left in the coat, and poorly trimmed nails. After I posted a review, Gia admitted to several of these quality issues, but suddenly made excuses blaming my dog - none of which she raised previously. The pricing and timing estimates are also misleading. I booked based on my dog's weight, as required by Gia's system. At drop-off, Gia assessed him and quoted me a 2-hour timeframe. Four hours passed with no communication, and she was completely unresponsive to my message and call requesting an update. Finally at pickup, I was unexpectedly charged a higher rate, which at the time she claimed was due to my dog's height, something she never mentioned beforehand either. This lack of transparency is unacceptable. Overall, Gia's business is overpriced, unresponsive, and low-quality work. Although she claims publicly to work toward a solution, when I contacted her, she did not respond. Apparently the only thing that matters to her is her public reviews. I would not recommend.

I then texted them on Monday asking for an appointment on the same day or the following. I got no response. I did not realize that they are closed on Sundays/Mondays and that weekend was MLK day. Well a week later and nothing. The least they could have said was "sorry we don't have anything available until whatever date.. or I'm sorry we are closed but we'll get back to you during business hours".. Very disappointed. I managed to find Thea and Sassy Tailz, and I am so grateful. Thea is SUPER sweet, and was able to fit in Deacon within a few days of my appointment request. She got back to me immediately, gave me an estimate of price and a time frame of arrival. I was pleasantly surprised at her price, knowing that typically saying a 100 pound plus long haired dog is normally...very expensive... and she was super reasonable. She arrived, was really sweet, and I left her to do her thing. I came out maybe 45 minutes later to see how she was doing and my dog already looked AMAZING. She had gotten allllllllllllll his extra fur out, he looked glossy, not particularly thrilled to be in a tub, but SO handsome. She was so kind to him, giving him snuggles as she groomed him, and let me stay in the van while she finished him, because she noticed he was more calm with me there. Normally after a grooming, Deacon sheds...a lot... for a few days. He didn't shed AT ALL, probably because she has this giant blower that got out all that sheddy stuff in her van. I've never seen so much fur in my life. It was amazing. I typically would get Deacon groomed every month or so, but due to his age, she suggested every three months. I loved that she recommended this because she said he was stressed and she didn't want to put him in that position at his age. That to me was so huge - she cared more about my dog's health than she did money. Having someone who met my dog for an hour care more about not stressing him out than making a more regular paycheck was everything. Deacon looks so handsome - Thea is amazing - I cannot say enough good things about Sassy Tailz.

She also always looks like the same dog when she comes out, which isn't always the case with some groomers. We were fortunate enough to find them when our girl was a puppy so they've been working with her through their puppy package. She has fear aversion with her nails and bath from the breeder. They've been working with June to desensitize her and build positive associations with these and after only a few sessions, we've seen great improvement. During the first groom, she was 2.5 hours late (they let us know that they were going to be running behind, but 2.5 hours is pretty ridiculous). Winnie had some mats and we were upcharged for taking out, but she didn't explain the charge to us. Overall, the cut was good so I went ahead and prebooked the next appointment. A week before the appointment, I received an email notification saying that my appointment was rescheduled. I contacted Christina and asked why it was rescheduled (I usually try to work remotely on the days that Winnie gets groomed but have to give notice to my work). She explained that she had us on the calendar for the rescheduled date and I screenshotted the initial confirmation (with the prebooked date) and then she said that they don't service my area on the day I prebooked. Then why would you prebook us then? We went ahead with the rescheduled date and they ran 30 minutes late. I decided not to prebook my next appointment and consider options elsewhere. Although the quality of the cut was great, I would prefer to go somewhere that is more organized.
