    Kentucky Fried Gator
    Jo-Ann G.

For parking, use the public library across the street--plenty of spots. A crosswalk goes directly from the parking lot to the restaurant. People are supposed to be driving 25mph, but it's central Florida. Just look both ways before crossing. In terms of service, it was amazing! Manager/Owner was very visible at all times and checked in multiple times. Server was hilarious and personable. He was very knowledgeable on the drinks and food. He didn't steer me wrong ever. The food is somehow the best part. The service was 20/10 and the food was even better. I went with coworkers and we tried different things and shared. VERY happy with everything, particularly what I ordered. Kentucky Fried Gator was amazing and that sauce it came with had me dipping the lettuce into it just to have more. Buratta and Tomatoes were heavenly. Exactly what you'd expect and the focaccia was sliced into more pieces for us to share. The Whipped Ricotta Toast was divine. The peaches with the seeds and just wow what a combo! Steak Frites are WELL worth the price. I had enough for the dinner and lunch the next day. The BEST surprise was dessert. I was very hesitant. But let me tell you, that the Japanese Whisky Bread Pudding is dangerous to be so close to me. That is beyond sinful. Not too sweet. Very well balanced. Great fresh, still good the next day. I even put my yogurt in the container leftovers to get every last drop of that miso caramel. It is a must try. Drinks wise, the best out of what we tried was the Passionfruit Aperol Spritz. As beautiful as it is delicious. Highly recommend it, but warning you might end up getting more than one. I feel that everything was appropriately priced, service was great, atmosphere was nice. I usually hate eating outdoors but my coworkers chose the outdoor table. That being said, I wasn't miserable so that speaks to the comfort of the atmosphere, though maybe not the chairs. I HIGHLY recommend The Peach House. It would be a great night out place or to unwind after work.

OMG! Can't stop thinking about this place. On a day trip to Lakeland and came across this place. So glad we did. Staff were all super friendly. Our waiter was amazing (wish I had name but it was a young man). Two of us had the creole salmon and they could just not stop talking about it the whole way home. I had the pork belly sliders and MAN! they rocked. Wish we could have sampled the desserts but make no mistake, we'll be back.

I visited The Peach House earlier today for lunch and tried the Kentucky Fried Gator and the Grouper Sandwich. The gator was meaty, tender and covered in a nicely seasoned crisp breading. The side of creole mustard remoulade was tangy, creamy and perfect for dipping the bites. The sandwich had a soft bun filled with a flaky grouper filet with a crisp seasoned breading and crisp slaw with bits of sweet peaches. The side of fries were nicely seasoned and crisp. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience.

Five star experience here!! I've been once before, when they first opened and I enjoyed myself. I finally got the chance to come back and I am so happy I did. The venue is so cute and unique, and the service was phenomenal. Our waitress was so nice and attentive. I had the fried grouper sandwich with the cilantro slaw on the side, along with the deviled eggs, and the burrata and tomato plate. ALL dishes were breathtaking, and everything was seasoned perfectly, full of flavor. I also had the blueberry margarita, which tasted very fresh. Love it here!!

First time visiting and wow, what a great experience. Let me first say, our server Sarah was AMAZING! The restaurant itself is so quirky and I loved it. The inside was so nice with a beautiful bar and lived the fun decor. The outside porch, which is where we chose to sit, was so spacious and I really liked the curated sitting areas. Felt like home. For drinks we got the Banana Painkiller and the Junglebird. Both were delish and the glasses were so much fun. For apps we enjoyed the Brie + Fruit. The Peach jam with this was fantastic. For dinner, we had the grouper sandwich with a cucumber and tomato salad. We also had the smash burger with fries. We had a great meal and loved the vibe. And let me say it again. The server, Sarah, was amazing.

The Peach House has to be the cutest restaurant in Lakeland! Yes, it's actually in a peach house. We were doing a little day trip with our son to take him to the Florida Children's Museum and we knew we wanted this to be our meal stop. We went at that awkward time between lunch & dinner around 4pm, so the restaurant was pretty quiet before the dinner rush. They were accommodating with a high chair for our toddler and didn't judge me for snapping way too many photos of the pretty interior. I am obsessed with the super colorful floral installation they have as he main focal point in the dining room. One of my favorite local florists, Bloom Shakalaka, designed it. I decided to start off with one of their mocktails, the Garden Spritz, which is made with non-alcoholic dry london "gin," cucumber mint lemonade, lemon juice, and soda water. It was so good and refreshing! I was in a snacky appetizer mood, so I ordered a half dozen oysters and the burrata + tomato as my meal. My husband says I'm going to turn into a tomato because I love them soooo much and can never resist a good tomato salad. He got the blackened salmon dish with broccolini & rice which was beautiful and perfectly prepared. We've been trying to make healthier choices lately when eating out, and we left feeling great (and not overly full). Everything was awesome and I already can't wait to go back!

    Pimm's Cup

We visited peach house on a Saturday for lunch with our 2 dogs. We were seated immediately, but it seemed like they had a bit of a skeleton crew for lunch since our server was also our host. I was surprised at how small their lunch menu was (my fault for assuming it was the same as the dinner menu), but I started with a Pimm's cup, we ordered the burrata and tomato and then I got the pasta primavera. The Pimm's cup was a little sweeter than I would've liked, but otherwise a nice drink. The burrata and tomato was really nice and tasty, but the proportions were all off. There were so many tomatoes compared to the quantity of burrata. There were also only 2 small pieces of bread (although it was very nice bread). It was difficult to get a good bite to the end, we had to ration our burrata big time. The pasta primavera was a little overcooked, with the pasta rather mushy, and I found myself wishing for a little bit of black pepper and pepper flakes. It wasn't a bad meal, and I suppose that it was probably reasonable for the price, but it made me a little sad. I would probably go back to peach house for dinner since that menu seems more appealing to me. The inside area was also really cute, I could see myself grabbing a drink at the bar for sure.

I'm so glad I stopped by The Peach House. I came in for a couple of cocktails and ordered the steak frites and burrata with tomatoes. Taking food to go from a nice restaurant always feels like a gamble--I knew I'd miss out on the full presentation--but even without it, both dishes were absolutely delicious. My only "regret" is on me: I left a reasonable tip, but honestly, I could've (and should've) given more knowing this ended up being one of the best dining experiences I've had in a while. Great food, great staff, and a beautifully designed restaurant. Huge kudos to Ashley and Lucy for crafting amazing cocktails and offering spot-on recommendations. I'll definitely be back--next time, I'm staying.

What a cute place! I love coming back to a town to see the new places they've added after a while away! This is one that I would recommend for drinks and just light food! We sat outside for lunch on a week day and it wasn't very busy; however, the service was kinda slow. I don't recommend going if you're crunched for time, but we did get in and out within an hour! One of my favorite parts of the restaurant is their mocktails! I love being able to "drink" with others without feeling the pressure of having alcohol, but also not sitting there with water. I loved our meals, as I got the Brie tray & it was amazing! It was all snack stuff but the Brie alone made it worth it! As it was crusty on the outside with a warm melty middle! I'd love to go back and try their dinner menu at some point, and sit inside to have a different experience and perspective!

Lacking toppings and not very flavorful sauce

Insanely slow service, disappointing food and hot outside seating. We were excited to try the cute place but it really didn't deliver on any aspect. Our waitress was very absent and rarely stopping by to check in. The tables were sticky and now clean. Even more surprising was the lack of delivery on the food. My chicken pita was dry chunks of seasoned breast on a store bought pita. It lacked the sauce, tomatoes and onions that it claimed to come with. Our waitress claimed they were roasted on there but if you look at the picture... good luck finding more than a sliver. Also, the grouper sandwich was seasoned on a single side and pretty much uncooked on the other. We even had to walk into the restaurant to check out because our waitress never returned. I will not be back

Don't come here or you'll regret it BIG TIME. Dirty, no towels, no soap, the worst place I've ever seen.

This is a great location in an old federal building. Nice decor for this Smiths American Tavern…read more The bartender met us at the door, due to it being the middle of the day, and business being a bit slower, and we opted to sit at the bar. He was very social and answered all our questions and socialized about personal life as well. We ordered the Cuban eggrolls, and they were quite good but had smaller cubes of ham as opposed to pictures showing slices in some older pictures posted to this establishment. The drinks were spot-on. Although I may sound disappointed, I'm looking forward to trying more on the menu that they have to offer. I plan to return to try more. Recommended!

Smith's American Tavern is in historic downtown Lakeland and located in a converted post office…read more It is spacious inside, has a nice size bar area and plenty of TVs to watch sporting events. The atmosphere is dive bar friendly and there are so many cool niche areas for photos. Really loved the raised unfinished ceiling and the naked white brick wall which covered the side wall of the tavern. When you enter there is a hostess to great you. And our server almost appeared immediately. She explained the menu to us and the specials. What a great first impression. Unfortunately, there was a key piece of info we missed. There is a full bar, draft beer options and a decent wine selection. I ordered a draft beer and a flight of Mimosas. The beer was good, the mimosa flight not so much. Oh, and they have brunch specials on Saturday and Sunday, including unlimited mimosas at a 2 hour limit. For food, ordered the classic breakfast plate and a breakfast burger. Food was pretty good, but the burger was from a frozen patty, so not the best. Unfortunately they have some policy where they charge an extra $1 for the eggs. It is posted in the front, but nowhere on the menu. Suffice to say that experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Pun intended. They did remove the $1 but it took more effort that I would have liked and unfortunately the review and the server's tip suffered as a result.
