Peak is such a fun, chill spot, definitely feels like a local hangout. We loved that it had a mix of everything, people at the bar, families hanging out, just an easygoing vibe all around. The pizza was really good, it's thin crust, and you can build your own by selecting things on the pizza form, or go with one of their pre-selected picks (meats, veggie, buffalo chix, etc). I also liked that there's a separate pizza lounge area if you want to sit and eat, or you can stay at the bar. Great beer selection, and of course I couldn't leave without grabbing a t-shirt. Great atmosphere. Everyone is here to hang out and have fun, truly. Little pizza corner to eat while you enjoy the many beers on tap. If you're looking for to-go options, they have plenty of cans to choose from as well. I like that they have mostly local beers, with a few beers from other areas. I've tried basically every local beer, so I enjoyed the supporting local, but also offering something different. Parking is limited, which is the only downside. read more

Great little find. Not a very big place but well worth the wait as the pizza is dynamite. They have bar seating, a small counter with 3-4 stools and 4 couches for indoor seating. Pizza is thin and crispy and very flavorful. My kids said it was the best pizza and wanted to come back the next day. Don't let the wait scare you as it may take 15+ minutes. The beer was also good and they had a good variety on tap and in cans. For kids, they have canned soda or water. The staff were all friendly and helpful with any questions we had. read more

This place is top notch in terms of craft beer selection! The pizza is some of the best I've ever had. No nonsense menu- pick a chef crafted pizza for $12 or build your own- Very, very good. The atmosphere here is great. Clean with a lot of wood accents. The inside is cool and spacious and they also have some very limited outdoor seating which we really appreciated. It's right on a busy street and within a shopping center so you will get a lot of car noise, but it's nice to sit outside anyway. It's very easy to order at the bar and the pizza is brought to your table. They have a very good selection of beer, especially of the hoppy and mostly hazy variety. This came as a recommendation from the bartender. She was so funny and welcoming! We ordered the margarita pizza -they call it flatbread. I call it TASTY!! The sliced tomatoes were fresh and it had just the right amount of olive oil drizzled on it. Yummy! The space was small, but cozy. I was happy to watch some hockey on one of their 3 large tvs at the bar. There was another section with cozy couches where you could watch the chef cook the flatbreads. We love The Peak!!! This has become our go to pizza Friday location. It's a quaint little shop located right near the Surf City pier. They've got quite a few parking spots out front to make it easy for guests. All the pizzas are personal sized pizzas but are $10 for ENDLESS toppings. Yes you heard that right- add whatever you want to your pizza and as much as you want and your pizza will still be $10!!! no longer are the nights when my husband and I spend $24 to split a large pizza with toppings neither of us can agree on. The Peak has just about every topping you could imagine on their menu to add. Sometimes there is a special of the day which could include an app, a soup, wings, the options are always changing. Of course they only offer the special until it runs out. The pizza is always perfectly cooked and the staff is always extremely friendly. This was just ok, or maybe a little less than that. We went at lunch, and it was summer so the place was kind of busy. You walk in and it's a confusing set up. You don't know whether to seat yourself or wait, and no one who works there offers any direction. So we sat at this high top bar type thing. We were right beside a huge multi-family group who felt fine letting their many kids be extremely loud, so maybe that dampened the whole experience. Anyway, we had no idea how to order so my boyfriend finally went and asked the woman working in the kitchen area. She explained you get a form from a table in the dining area, fill it out, and give to the bartender who gives it to her. He first went to the bar to order our drinks then we filled out a form and ordered a pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, and jalapeños. He had a beer and I had a water - they only have Liquid Death for water which I don't love for some reason. The pizza didn't take too terribly long to come out, but they left off the jalapeños. The service had been so meh we agreed to not even mention it. It tasted pretty good and was an ok amount to split between two people. But we just ate quickly and left because the two people working just weren't very welcoming at all. Peak is awesome. They have beer in a variety of styles, and if nothing on tap calls to you, check out or ask about what's in cans and bottles in the cooler. The pizza is very good, better to order one extra than not enough because you'd rather have leftovers than not enough. The place is always busy and sometimes you have to park a little further, but it's worth it. I am in the area 2-3 times a year and try to get at least one Peak visit in every time. read more

This little spot was the whole package. Did not miss a beat. At first glance it is very small and I was thinking it is crowed in here. From the first two ladies laughing and having a good time, to the merch on the wall and Jukebox in the corner-Nice. Definitely the spot down with the local beach vibe. First time I forgot I wasn't in Cali. Lots of beer on tap, some ciders and cool canned waters. Build your own pizza's with the chef in the back corner highly visible tossing everyone's custom pizzas. As we walked through the door, we greeted the bartender with "Hey, how are you?" Her response? Not "Hello," or "Hey guys, how are you?" Very flatly, she asked, "What can I do for you guys?" Yet in the next breath, she was chumming it up with the two other parties of white customers at her bar. When other white customers walked in, she was bubbly and friendly. Maybe people aren't self aware enough to realize that this is what they're doing. However, if you do work in the service industry, it is to your benefit to be aware of your behavior and attitudes toward all people. In the post Trump era America has fully changed and the threat is real sooooooo. A lot of locals which I love cause I want to see how you do it. This crowd was mixed meaning the attitudes not the races, a Spanish family came in and felt very apprehensive, we made room for them but, they were like "Naw we will sit outside" that's not good. Walked in took a walk around before we settled at the bar. There were obviously people that we uncomfortable from the time we stepped in.... You felt the energy. The bartender was a nice young lady, she gave us the run down of the beers, which was awesome, I'm not a beer drinker and she found one that I would like. We ordered pizza, ate chatted and had a nice time. The musical chairs around us was hilarious. I mean they were uncomfortable sitting by other human beings. I can give two shakes cause, I love you to be uncomfortable around me cause you can see I'm not playing games and about to take over your spot. I eventually asked another staffer about the cost of the fancy water and she offered to replace it with a glass of tap water. That was cool.
