It took a few minutes to be attended to but once they acknowledged me, they were attentive. You basically order at the counter and they bring your drink to your table. They don't serve food however they provide QR codes for Surf City Smash located in the same strip, you can order and they will deliver it to you. Side note, the tiny pita chips they have are so good! Cape Fear Customs held an event at the Salty Turtle the night I stopped in. The fundraiser was for Paddle4Troops. Enjoyed an $8 Monday special afternoon flight here today and loved this place! Service was excellent and relaxed. Loved the big open spaces inside and out. Salty Turtle has been on my bucket list for a long, LONGGGGG time. But considering they're almost as far from my house as you can get and still be on US soil, it was a pipe dream I enjoyed mostly through the photos and Insta posts of my friends who own a beach home near there. Fast forward to this year and I finally got to visit! Yep, a six-hour flight to Raleigh and 3-hour drive later, the Turtle was finally conquered. We came here on a Monday afternoon, 1) because our husbands love beer and 2) they had $6 flights so we could try new things. I really enjoyed the Betio Blonde (which tasted like coffee, YES!) and my husband really liked the Mango (The Fog was a close second.) I loved the vibe of this place...everything was really clean, the waitstaff was helpful and friendly, and the glass ware was so adorable that of course I bought some to take home! We enjoyed our afternoon so much that when we realized they had Trivia on Wednesday evening, we decided to return for that. Trivia was very popular and extremely fun (we actually ended up WINNING!!!) There were a lot of people and a lot of dogs...it was such a wonderful and unforgettable evening. I later found out that the owners are veterans which made me love the place even more. The Salty Turtle is HANDS DOWN the best place to hang out in the surrounding area. We just moved locally in May and were so excited that the Salty Turtle can be our frequent spot to hang out during the weeknights or weekends. Salty Turtle is kid-friendly AND dog-friendly. During these weird times, they've also done an amazing job of abiding to all the COVID regulations an establishment is asked to follow. If you walk through the door without a mask on, you will be asked to put one on or they will kindly offer you one. The beer selection list has a ton of variety and is always changing so there's sure to be something for everyone to love! They even have several wine, cider, and non-alcoholic drink options. Although no food is served here besides bags of chips- there is frequently food trucks parked in their outdoor seating area, as well as you can always order from Coastal Wings & Spirits across the parking lot to be delivered to you here! The prices of the beer are fair, and the taste of them is even better! It's an added bonus that everyone who works here are some of the friendliest beertenders you will ever meet. If you love the environment then you'll love the fact that Salty Turtle does not serve beverages in any plastic cups and all of the carriers for their canned beers are bio-degradable. Yay for saving the turtles! They have a good selection of beer and the flight is always the way to go at a brewery like this. The outdoor table area is great and allows for social distancing. The space heaters are key once the sun goes down. It was quite busy inside and they do have an option to order from your table and they'll bring it out. I already love this place. Beer selection is 50% IPAs with some blondes, a pale ale, a stout, a semi-gose mixed in. My husband didn't love the beers as much- but I did!
