Rib eye- needed better seasoning Caesar salad Delicious chili!

Small eating area for sole restaurant in the area. Only accepts reservations for dinner and you need to book several days early. Food is not high end. Service is good though. Prices are high. Best thing on menus is the chili!

Mountain Fruit Pie a la Mode ($9.99) This was good, but I probably wouldn't buy it again.

A cozy lodge restaurant with a lovely view of the mountains. I'm surprised to see this restaurant has as low a rating as it does because we had an excellent meal here! Perhaps we just ordered the right things? We got their Grilled Salmon (which was phenomenal) and their daily special, which was a Beef Stroganoff (which was good). I'd definitely come back here again just to enjoy the salmon! We also had a dessert (Mountain Berry Pie a la Mode). It was good, but I probably wouldn't pay money for it again. But would satisfy a sweet tooth craving if you have it. Pro tip: request a window seat table if you can!

If you're staying at the lodge in Sequoia National Park, this really is the only game in town for a restaurant. You don't want to drive those 30 miles of narrow twisty roads--it us a solid hour each way back to town. I really don't understand all the really super low reviews for this restaurant because it really is fine. Yes, it's a bit more expensive than, you might get in town, but they had to haul all the food up all this way. And haul all these workers up all this way, so it's actually a pretty good deal for what you're getting. The beer is cheaper than what I paid in Bakersfield. There are entrees as low as 9.99. I quite enjoyed the chicken pot pie. We did think the chicken marsala was a little bit dry and probably won't order that again. But so far, it's actually a really promising experience. The service is good, it's comfortable. I think it fully deserves four stars.

The other reviews state this already but this place is just whatever in terms of food quality, the servers here are great though! We ended up eating here for every meal in 2 days simply because of convenience since we were saying at the wuksachi lodge and there's no other restaurants inside the park. At first it was okay, but the menu is pretty limited so we had to repeat meals. The best things we had were the breakfast buffet, hamburger, and short rib!

Tbh I would say it is. 3.5. I want to begin by saying the service was amazing. It must be difficult to get fresh food up here but it should not be a challenge to make it hot. Flavor was there but only slightly warm. It is a family establishment but 5 kids circling my table throughout the meal began to make me dizzy. Thought the vibe for a 8:45 seating would be better.

Caesar salad may not look to good but it really was excellent.

Got there a little early and had to wait for our table -- it was surprisingly busy for a Monday night! We grabbed seats at the bar and ordered the Sequoia Signature Margarita, which was awesome. Our bartender, Brent, was fantastic and recommended the Apple Bourbon Pork Chop -- and wow, he was right. The sauce was spot-on, the pork was juicy and perfectly cooked. (Apologies for the blurry photo -- my excitement got the better of my camera skills!) My friend ordered the Trout Almondine and the Roasted Cauliflower and Vegetable Curry with Chicken. The curry wasn't very spicy, but it was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. For dessert, we shared the Crème Brûlée and the Chocolate Torte. We couldn't resist digging in before taking pictures -- both were some of the best desserts I've had in a long time. Big compliments to whoever made them! Everything from the drinks to dessert was excellent. I'll definitely be going back again soon -- maybe even tonight!

This is for the deck menu not restaurant Two Antipasto Sandwiches Good meat ratio to bread Lots of meat nice bread The only issue is that it was real cold like it was made earlier in the morning or made by someone else. Should offer to have it warm so cheese could melt Dr Pepper for some reason it was real sweet and delicious

As the only restaurant around, I was pleasantly impressed with the quality of food and service here. We've been here the past two nights and I had the Duck and Ribeye - both were delicious! The Burger, Chicken wings and Trout Almondine were also good. Finished with a nice scoop of ice cream. Prices were okay, considering they have to bring everything in a long way. Servers Rebecca and Leslie are amazing, and the Manager is very kind, especially when they make a slight mistake. The restaurant is beautiful, not too crowded, and with gorgeous views. I recommend making a reservation. They are on OpenTable. Staying at the Lodge, there are not many options, but I highly recommend this isolated gem.

Dinner menu personal pan pizza - cheese. Exactly like Pizza Hut.

There is now table service in the dining hall again, but plan to dine earlier, or wait a bit for a table as it fills up quickly. You can easily snag a drink at the bar while you wait, but there is limited indoor seating while you wait (this is a smaller lodge). This is not fine dining, but the food was genuinely good, if not complicated/fancy! Our filet was cooked perfectly to medium rare and was a quality cut of meat. The summer salad was huge and had very fresh fruit in it - easily could be a light meal on its own. I liked it so much I ordered it twice. The lunch pizza is better than the evening pizza but both were hot and fresh. We had two wraps with chips - the chicken salad and the hummus wrap - and they were both ok with the hummus being the winner. Cocktails were good too. There is some variety in the demeanor of wait staff, but our service was always timely.

We dinner and the breakfast buffet. Typical breakfast buffet for 24 bucks eggs, sausage, fruit, oatmeal, waffles, juice, regular coffee, cheap pastries etc. Dinner not too much to select from on the menu very limited. Did the steak and a salad with strawberries and blueberries. Order came with pea soup not bad. Steak and salad was a great size to share between 2 people and surprisingly good for being a place In middle of a forest. Just didn't like having to wait in line to order before sitting was strange set up and if you got there at a certain time be a long wait.

Hiker's breakfast, scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon and French toast.

So we decided to take get some meals here. We got 3 double cheeseburgers with chips for $12.99 each and my boyfriend got a coffee. Each cheeseburger we chose a different cheese: cheddar, Swiss, and provolone. It was around 5:30 pm and they were sold out of many items and quickly closed the restaurant after that. Our order took maybe 10 minutes and we sat outside at the shaded tables. The chip options were various flavors of Vickie's. The coffee was decente The burgers were good sizes, larger than expected. If you want to pay $1.99 more for fries it seemed like a good deal also because other people had a lot of fries! We were all satisfied with the burger. It came with lettuce, tomato, onion, and a spear of pickle on the side. There was some aioli on the bottom bun but I ended up adding mayo and black pepper to the top because it was still a little dry. Everything was better than expected and we took some of the chips home. Even my (extremely) frugal dad was pleasantly surprised with the meal. Would recommend! Seems better than the restaurant at Kings Canyon Visitor Center as well.

After a long drive from Pinnacles National Park to the Sequoia and Kings Canyon area, we ended up…read moreat Grant Grove Restaurant because it was one of the only nearby places to eat close to Stony Creek Lodge. By that point, honestly, we would probably have eaten tree bark with ketchup if someone had served it with confidence. The food itself was decent, though nothing especially memorable. We had a salad, a bowl of chili, and a chocolate cake. The chili was probably the standout of the meal, comforting after a long day on the road. Everything else was fine, solid, and exactly what you would expect from a national park restaurant just waking up for the season. What stood out much more than the food was the effort of the staff. The restaurant had only recently reopened and was clearly not fully prepared for the season crowds yet. There seemed to be only one host, one overwhelmed server, and a couple of busboys trying to hold the entire operation together with determination and caffeine fumes. Service was slow, but honestly, it was not because anyone did not care. Quite the opposite. The staff was genuinely kind, patient, and trying their absolute best under pretty chaotic circumstances. You could clearly see there was not enough training, not enough systems in place, and simply not enough people. Still, they stayed friendly and professional throughout, and we genuinely appreciated that. The real magic of the experience was eating outside on the patio surrounded by the woods. The views and atmosphere completely carried the evening. There is something special about sitting among the trees, breathing mountain air, and finally relaxing after hours of winding roads through the parks. Overall, come here more for the setting and the experience than for gourmet dining. The food may not change your life, but the scenery just might.

Our dinner takeout consisted of cheeseburger, chicken sandwich and chicken salad sandwich wrap. All items came with one side and we ordered the pesto pasta salad which was really quite excellent. The cheeseburger and all the ingredients they put on it including their special sauce really hit the spot and my son said the chicken sandwich was tasty and delicious. The chicken salad wrap was a different version consisting of grilled chicken pieces along with variety of vegetables. For breakfast the three of us ordered the hikers breakfast which consisted of two scrambled eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and your choice of either pancakes or French toast. The breakfast really hit the spot and everything was done just right. I especially appreciated the Bacon which had been degreased. The two pancakes were huge and we were not able to finish them but they had a really nice flavor to them. The hashbrowns were the only thing that could've been improved upon and that would have been by having them been more crispy. The one thing I wasn't particularly pleased with was the ordering system where they use the kiosk system as you would find at McDonald's. You notify them whether you're going to be takeout or eat in and you designate which table you're sitting at and they bring the food to you once prepared. This system clearly cuts down on manpower and can be very efficient based on the skill of the user. I complemented the manager on the quality of the food and was told by an employee at a neighboring shop that they got a new chef this season and the food was much better. Who's doing this
