Meat lovers pizza on the deck!
    Laura N.

I don't know why the reviews are so bad because this is a great spot! We were in Sequoia for 4th of July weekend and it was impossible to find parking or space to eat anywhere. It was getting infuriating, but then we remembered this spot we came a few years ago. There was plenty of parking and plenty of space to sit. They have a few computers to order from. We got a Diet Pepsi, coffee, and meat lovers pizza. The pizza was really good and had satisfying stringy cheese. It also came out in only 10 minutes. They also gave us a big ranch for free. The deck has a bunch of picnic benches (all seating is outside) with umbrellas and a pretty view.

Chili. $10. Cmon guys. This was all? Small cup and not a bowl. We were given this cup and 70٪ filled. You can do do better.

Stay away from the sandwiches, pre made, and disgusting. The pizza looked way better but saw it after ordering. Wine came out warm

After hiking several miles and not eating much, a double cheeseburger and fries was really what I needed even if it was nothing special, it was fresh and warm and good after eating canned and packaged food while glamping. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and everyone works together to make sure families, couples, and solo travelers all get a place to sit. Community vibes, I enjoyed it.

So we decided to take get some meals here. We got 3 double cheeseburgers with chips for $12.99 each and my boyfriend got a coffee. Each cheeseburger we chose a different cheese: cheddar, Swiss, and provolone. It was around 5:30 pm and they were sold out of many items and quickly closed the restaurant after that. Our order took maybe 10 minutes and we sat outside at the shaded tables. The chip options were various flavors of Vickie's. The coffee was decente The burgers were good sizes, larger than expected. If you want to pay $1.99 more for fries it seemed like a good deal also because other people had a lot of fries! We were all satisfied with the burger. It came with lettuce, tomato, onion, and a spear of pickle on the side. There was some aioli on the bottom bun but I ended up adding mayo and black pepper to the top because it was still a little dry. Everything was better than expected and we took some of the chips home. Even my (extremely) frugal dad was pleasantly surprised with the meal. Would recommend! Seems better than the restaurant at Kings Canyon Visitor Center as well.

By that point, honestly, we would probably have eaten tree bark with ketchup if someone had served it with confidence. The food itself was decent, though nothing especially memorable. We had a salad, a bowl of chili, and a chocolate cake. The chili was probably the standout of the meal, comforting after a long day on the road. Everything else was fine, solid, and exactly what you would expect from a national park restaurant just waking up for the season. What stood out much more than the food was the effort of the staff. The restaurant had only recently reopened and was clearly not fully prepared for the season crowds yet. There seemed to be only one host, one overwhelmed server, and a couple of busboys trying to hold the entire operation together with determination and caffeine fumes. Service was slow, but honestly, it was not because anyone did not care. Quite the opposite. The staff was genuinely kind, patient, and trying their absolute best under pretty chaotic circumstances. You could clearly see there was not enough training, not enough systems in place, and simply not enough people. Still, they stayed friendly and professional throughout, and we genuinely appreciated that. The real magic of the experience was eating outside on the patio surrounded by the woods. The views and atmosphere completely carried the evening. There is something special about sitting among the trees, breathing mountain air, and finally relaxing after hours of winding roads through the parks. Overall, come here more for the setting and the experience than for gourmet dining. The food may not change your life, but the scenery just might.

Our dinner takeout consisted of cheeseburger, chicken sandwich and chicken salad sandwich wrap. All items came with one side and we ordered the pesto pasta salad which was really quite excellent. The cheeseburger and all the ingredients they put on it including their special sauce really hit the spot and my son said the chicken sandwich was tasty and delicious. The chicken salad wrap was a different version consisting of grilled chicken pieces along with variety of vegetables. For breakfast the three of us ordered the hikers breakfast which consisted of two scrambled eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and your choice of either pancakes or French toast. The breakfast really hit the spot and everything was done just right. I especially appreciated the Bacon which had been degreased. The two pancakes were huge and we were not able to finish them but they had a really nice flavor to them. The hashbrowns were the only thing that could've been improved upon and that would have been by having them been more crispy. The one thing I wasn't particularly pleased with was the ordering system where they use the kiosk system as you would find at McDonald's. You notify them whether you're going to be takeout or eat in and you designate which table you're sitting at and they bring the food to you once prepared. This system clearly cuts down on manpower and can be very efficient based on the skill of the user. I complemented the manager on the quality of the food and was told by an employee at a neighboring shop that they got a new chef this season and the food was much better. Who's doing this

You can catch the shuttle or if you're gung-ho you can hike to Lodgepole. We drove! One of the visits I went by myself to shower and have lunch. I was hoping to have ice cream too but I got full. I selected a ready made sandwich, side order of pasta salad and a bottled drink. I paid for my items at a self check out. It's also where you order your food. This is a very, very, very busy Market! Parking is no joke, have your patience. This parking area not only caters the the Market & Grill. The visitors museum is located next door and just outside the Market around the corner are coin operated showers! I have used these showers. There are about 6 shower stalls. In this same room are only two bathroom stalls. But just outside this room is a bathroom too. I've come to the restroom twice and they happened to be cleaning it at around the same time. Cleaning took around 20-25 mins. A line for the shower was forming behind me in the mean time. Back to the Market & Grill. My sandwich was good enough. It was better once I added condiments. The pasta salad was good enough too. A table luckily became available to sit at. I didn't want to sit outside in the heat after taking a shower. Adjacent to the Grill is the market part. Plenty of souvenirs of all kinds, camping accessories in case you forgot something. Ice is also available. A variety of snacks, drinks and even wine. Great place to grab a meal, shower or snacks. Good luck with parkiing!
