It felt like I had traveled into a place where trees were purest, bird melodies were the only noise in town (besides the water running in the creek), and cabins belonged to those who called the mountains home. I was in a novel and for some reason I felt like it was written by Twain. And that is really what I can say about this place. That is mostly what I remember the beauty of the creek. I wanted to spend more time there, I could have walked it, they had like a lounge but I did not. But I do remember the forested view that went on, and the roaring, jagged leg being a central character other than that I have small things to say. I remember the salad being ok. Denise and I shared a dish, I can't remember why but we did not eat the whole thing. It was inherently bad. But this could have been an off night, or just not the dish of the place, and really you go here for the lake, and the food was great in some ways just not in this specific way. There is ample parking in their lot once you arrive. The entrance and decor is BEAUTIFUL--so many lovely cultural pieces. The place is filled with the sounds of wonderful Mexican music playing in the background. The service is FANTASTIC. Our waitress was kind, quick, and very friendly. You get chips and salsa as soon as you're seated. My friend and I ordered breakfast burritos, which came with bacon, ham, cheese, egg, and potatoes. FIRE burrito! Also, they come with two salsas--one is delicious and one is SPICYYYY. Beware! Some of the best reviews were many years ago. I ordered the chile verde burrito, wet, and my girlfriend ordered the fish taco Friday special. Chile verde has different sized pork chunks in a delicious green sauce but the meat was inconsistent in size with most pieces being rock hard, or fat/gristle. No pieces were tender. Chile verde should be tender. I can make better Chile verde in an Instant Pot with pork shoulder and a jar of Herdez green salsa. I trim my meat well though. No surprises. The fish tacos were attractive. They resembled fish sticks though. They had a bread crumb coating, were cooked earlier, and reheated before putting in the taco shell. Not beer batter fried aka Baja style. The taco shells were soft yellow corn tortillas with the texture of flour tortillas. These tortillas were really good! Avocado and fresh cilantro was a nice touch. No special fish taco sauce was used, but might improve the fish sticks. Rice was a solid hit for both of us. We make it like this at home with shrimp/tomato bouillon. The beans were ok. I ended up "returning" the inedible chile verde and they dutifully replaced it with a different burrito. The service was 5/5. The place itself is clean and neat and spacious. No complaints there.

The atmosphere remains unchanged, and if customers make an error in their orders, they are refused service and instructed to repeat the order, which incurs additional charges. Furthermore, there is a noticeable lack of cleanliness, evidenced by sticky floors and a dead fly on one of the tables. The sodas taste watered down, and attempting to request a refill is met with a disapproving look from the staff. Conclusion: Super Taco retains its reputation as a popular establishment, but the quality of food is not the only factor that contributes to the overall experience.
