This restaurant is located in the 3 rivers area or perhaps you can say, in the middle of nowhere, not whole lot going on in that area. it was a clean, modern, well kept restaurant that delivered great customer service. 2 people were working the tables and both were very responsive. We were a party of 9 yet the young lady, our server, helped us with a smile. We all really appreciated her, unfortunately I didn't get her name. I had the 3 item combo, with tacos, and an enchilada, the plate was well served and tasty. I give it a 10/10 Wife had a Gordita with shredded chicken. It was tasty but, lacked balanced. She rates the 7/10. But over all we give this spot a 5 star review and will most definitely come back! read more

I'm in town visiting Sequoia Park for the first time, and rented a house in Three Rivers. We're not too familiar with the town (just yet), but we wanted to have dinner at a nice restaurant tonight and found La Longosta on Google, and Yelped them. They don't have as many reviews as other places, but we noticed they had the highest stars. So we gave them a try. My husband had also pointed out prior to eating there that La Longosta had a really low amount of reviews (I think under 50) with a score of 4.6 stars, compared to Casa Mendoza up the street with over 1,200 reviews and 3.6 stars. Well, my husband said, "This is why sometimes less is certainly more!", because despite not having a ton of reviews yet, this place blew us away. The flavors and portions were outstanding. The customer service was great! We were greeted and seated immediately, got some chips and salsa on the house (the salsas were great!), and we got drinks right away. Food didn't take too long, either. Now, I totally judge Mexican restaurants on three things - and if these three things are bad, then it's always downhill from there for me: 1) House/table salsa. 2) Beans. 3) Rice. When these simple staples of any Mexican cuisine are done completely wrong, almost always everything else lacks. My husband and me looked at one another and right away commented on the refried beans! They were very delicious. Oh! And their tortillas are all homemade on the spot. I mean.......come on!! My husband got the Asada plate. The meat was cooked perfectly and seasoned very nicely! I got the combo #2 with 1 asada taco (I asked for dorado), 1 cheese enchilada, and 1 chile relleno. I left no crumbs! My two teen daughters got the Botana Frita which comes with mussels, octopus, and shrimp, and mixed with veggies in a spicy red sauce. This was super tasty!!! The sauce was very delicious with just enough spice that wouldn't overwhelm your palate. And for my two little ones, they settled for the chicken tenders with fries. They were pretty good, and a nice option for the kiddos that don't like Mexican food. We plan to make this an annual trip with the kids and we've already claimed this spot as the must-stop when coming back! Highly recommend! 10/10 read more

Dropped in during our stay at AutoCamp. Plenty of parking available. Upon arrival, we were quickly greeted and seated by the host, Beatriz. If you like Chilaquiles, but can't decide on green or red, you can order "Chilaquiles Divorciados." Also, a great way to decide which you'd like to order again (for locals). I ended up enjoying the red chilaquiles the most; sauce had a good authentic flavor. I also recommend asking for their chip salsa to dress your eggs. This led to a service experience that felt lackluster and stretched thin, which is a tough spot for any single staff member to be in during the dinner rush. The Appetizers As is standard, we were started with chips and salsa. They serve two varieties, and the pico de gallo was easily the highlight of the pair. Unfortunately, the green salsa was disappointing and lacked any real depth or flavor. The Food The menu offers a wide variety of choices. We opted for two dinner combos: * Plate 1: Chile relleno, carne asada taco, and a cheese enchilada. * Plate 2: Chile relleno and a carne asada taco. Both were served with white rice, beans topped with cotija cheese, and a small side salad. The salad was dressed with a very watery Thousand Island dressing that didn't add much to the meal. While the beans and rice were standard, the main items were just "okay"--nothing particularly stood out. The biggest disappointment was that one of the plates arrived cold, which gave the impression that the components might have been reheated in a microwave rather than prepared fresh to order. We were greeted with nicely. The servers were very attentive and the place was clean and well taken care of. Our server was Jenny. Very nice lady and always was checking in to see if we needed anything. We were started off with chips and salsa. I will say that the red salsa (salsa roja) was very spicy but it was good! I told my mom it reminded me of hers and she agreed! They also brought us a guacamole salsa and green salsa (salsa verde) which both were good. All three salsas were authentic in flavor and over all good! Even the tortilla chips. For our plates, which I will say, the portions are big! My dad got the molcajete and he couldn't finish it but he said it was very good and tasty. It had shrimp, chicken, ranchera meat, chorizo sausage, and cheese. My dad asked if it came with octopus and the server said no but that they would be happy to add it and so they did! My dad was very pleased with his plate. My mother got the longosta plate. She also enjoyed it and said it was flavorful! I ordered a chicken gordita and a pupusa because I thought they were small but they were pretty big and I couldn't finish either of them. We arrived and waited 10 minutes to be seated. Once we sat down, we weighted another 20 to 30 minutes to get water and menus. We were able to order finally no alcohol and waited another 45 to an hour, for ourfood. We ordered tacos and it took roughly 2 hours to get. This was a pretty bad experience. I'd heard good things from friends and was excited for a new place in town. It took over 30 minutes to even get our order taken. Then about 45 additional minutes to get the food. At this point it's now 9pm. The table next to us walked out without ever getting theirs! When the food finally arrived- only for half the table at first- I was just so "mid". Nothing tasted great, although not terrible. Absolutely not worth jumping through the hoops for though. Upon arriving the server was friendly and seated us promptly. We ordered the aguachiles which were fresh and delicious and full of flavor. I ordered the camarones à la diabla. At first they didn't seem spicy but then the heat crept up. Delicious and flavorful. The other entree was camarones con crema. Yummy and rich. I welcome a new spot to try in Three Rivers.
