3.x stars is BS - this place has the BEST wings anywhere around - hands down! This place has the BEST blu cheese dipping sauce. There is (no) beating The Peanut wings. Full sized wings - I mean full sized wings with tips. Great flavored skin. Crisped up skin. This place has incredible wings. Is the service the greatest - well, not always. But who cares....the wings are worth any amount of wait.

lived up to its hype! the wings were amazing my def go to go wings when I'm in MCI! I also had the chili fries those were just okay.

I'm sad to report this once iconic dive bar in downtown KC took a nosedive since my last visit. The staff were rude, service slow and the once-crispy bacon in the famous BLT sandwiches was flaccid. I took three family members with me to show off one of my favorite haunts when I lived in KC. We were one of three tables seated when we came in. Two others tables were seated shortly after we arrived. We ordered three BLT sandwiches and a dozen wings. Over an hour later, after every other table was empty, our food finally arrived. The excuse from staff is that it was a large order. Three BLTs and wings! It doesn't get much easier than that. The worst part of this review is that the bacon was soggy and smelled of old grease. The fries, too. Nothing worse, in my book!

I mean probably the best wings you'll have in your life. My boyfriend and I went 2 days in a row, once to the Mission location and the second time to the original location in KC.

Our daughter moved to Kansas City for college and we were on the hunt for some simple but good food and we came across Peanuts and we were not disappointed. The wings here are crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside - the perfect balance of texture. Whether you prefer them tossed in a classic buffalo sauce, tangy BBQ, or a unique, house-made spice blend, the flavors are bold and satisfyingly rich without overpowering the natural taste of the chicken. Each order is served piping hot, fresh from the fryer, with just the right amount of sauce coating the wings, not drowning them. The vibe at Peanuts is laid-back and welcoming, with friendly service that makes you feel like part of the family. It's the kind of place where locals gather to enjoy great food, cold drinks, and a lively atmosphere. In short, Peanuts Bar & Restaurant delivers on its promise of the best chicken wings in Kansas City. If you're a wing connoisseur--or even if you're just looking for a casual bite--this spot should be at the top of your list.

This dive bar has by far the BEST wings in KC!! Worth the 20 minute wait! Not quite sure how they cook them but the crunch on the outside and the juicy chicken inside is the perfect combination. Only one sauce option-medium heat. Be prepared-not your average wing-wing and drum attached so when you order 3 you are technically getting 6. Now for the tenderloin sandwich...delicious. Crispy coating on 1/4 inch thick tenderloin. Crispy and juicy just like the wings. This place will not disappoint

Heard this place is the local favorites. & it is only a block away from my apartment. It's been on my must-try list for awhile. So today, I made my way there. First impression? This is definitely your dive bar type of vibes. I got the famous wings that everyone is talking about. We ordered a dozen, and surprisingly, it was enough to feed 6 grown adults. We also ordered french fries & a few pitchers. Great place with great people. It's a win-win in my book

Stopped here on a weekend visit to Kansas City trying to check out all the dive bars downtown. This one was pretty standard. We didn't try the food but I saw it coming out and it looked pretty standard bar fare. Everybody that we talk to you said they liked to eat there. Looks like there was some regulars at the bar. It's kind of dark and dingy inside which is what you want for a dive bar. They were doing their part to stay Covid free. I didn't see much parking but we took an Uber. When we left we walked a couple miles to the next place and the neighborhood well not necessarily all businesses felt relatively safe. The staff members were nice. This is a pretty standard dive bar if that's your sort of thing you should definitely check it out.

Best wings I had in a long time, they are on the larger side which I usually avoid. That aside, the flavor was memorable.

Even walking in, we weren't quite sure what to expect. The entrance is small, and you're greeted right away, which was a nice touch. Once inside, it's very dark with deep red lighting--almost like stepping into a cave. It took a moment for our eyes to adjust, but once they did, we immediately felt at ease. The space is cozy and perfectly aligned with its purpose: it's all about the jazz. The service was great--welcoming, attentive, and added to the overall experience without taking away from the music. And the music? Absolutely captivating. It pulls you in and transports you--you can't help but settle into the vibe and just enjoy the moment together. We went on a Monday, so there was plenty of seating, but I noticed there's also a lower level that likely accommodates larger weekend crowds. There's a solid drink menu and a small selection of food, but honestly, this isn't the place you come for a full meal. Come for the drinks, stay for the music, and soak in the atmosphere.

First time here. Came for lunch on a Thursday…read more I love the fact that the door, is on the side down an Alley!. Makes sense considering the name. Lol. Service was fast and the staff were friendly. Coming for lunch during work meant no alcohol for me but I still looked at the drink menu. They seem to have some pretty decent drinks for a good price. Lunch for me was the Turkey Slider. They don't come with a side, and with the size of the 3 sliders... that was okay with me. The sliders were delicious. Not dry and great flavor. My lunch partner had the Nachos it's pretty big. Music was a little loud but not so much that you couldn't talk at a fairly normal level. I mean it IS a bar. I would definitely go back to try other things. And maybe check out their drink menu a little closer.

I wouldn't call this a speakeasy (other than the alley entrance and easy to miss doorway)…read more It felt more like a local neighborhood dive bar with really good food and what appeared to be a serious shuffleboard (hidden in a side room). We were able to grab 2 seats at the bar and enjoyed a Rueben (very good) and a Jim's beef sandwich. The cocktail menu didn't speak to me, so I went with straight bourbon (they have a nice selection) and hubby tried the old fashioned. He chose to upgrade to Knob Creek which made it an $18 drink, but it was well made, so all was good. I think their drink prices were a little higher than a dive bar, but not as pricey as a cocktail bar. The shuffleboard was a fun touch and we enjoyed a couple of games before leaving. Service was friendly (from the host/bouncer to the wait staff and bartenders). This is a place that we wish we had made it to sooner and will surely return to!
