Great happy hour!! Stopped in after a long day on the road and those nachos with taco meat tasted like the best thing in the world for only $6. Nice porch with a view of the city!

This place was walking distance from our hotel so we popped in for some drinks and dinner. Sat up on the famous deck which was PACKED and lively. Menu is your basic bar food and service was slow. Overall the food and drinks were fine and we enjoyed our visit but if you're looking for the best KC food this isn't the spot you'd want to go.

John's big deck is a great place to hang out and watch a game, enjoy the nice weather with friends, or possibly dance the night away. I personally only really spend my time on the rooftop deck--that's what the biggest draw of this place is for me, but I have friends who enjoy the loud music and dancing of the 2nd floor. There are bars on every floor with food available on the 1st and 3rd floor. Pretty standard bar food. Never had a bad experience, but isn't anything gourmet. I believe $5 cover charge starts around 8 pm. Worth a visit for the views and atmosphere! I've heard that when a good game is playing it has electric energy as well. Pretty mixed age group of people who visit.

Randomly came here to grab a drink. Cool rooftop vibes on a beautiful day. Lots of stairs though to get to the roof floor, so definitely not easily accessible. Drinks were reasonable though.

I went here to meet a friend for a quick lunch! It was around noon on a Thursday, so it was not too packed. I order the social of the day. A poboy and a side for $10! Not to bad. The shrimp was crispy the slaw was flavorful, i wish the bread was a little toasted and not so hard. There's arcade games in there and even a vape vending machine (not my vice but i thought it needed to be mentioned)

The Pitch Burger Week- double smashburger with cheese and choice of side $7 This is about as basic of a bar burger you can get however, don't count basic out when it comes to burgers because sometimes simplicy of ingredients wins over over-complicating construction. John's stuck with the classic makings of a double cheeseburger complete with "special sauce" drizzled onto shredded iceberg lettuce but, for Burger Week's price of $7 it doesn't lack anything especially flavor. The double patties of meat were far from dry, were not at all overcooked- actually was cooked more medium well vs. well done, and were buttery and flavorful. The blankets of ooey gooey American cheese, I did mention basic cheeseburger didn't I... they were on each patty (of course) and added the perfect nostalgic taste. The rest of the burger was also fairly simple with tomato, shredded lettuce, and a thousand island type of sauce but it slapped, let me tell you...for under $10 this burger is a steal you MUST run and get before Burger Week is over! Extra credit if you order the seasoned tots as your side because they are so crispy and crunchy and coated in a sweet/spicy barbecue type seasoning dust, so good dipped in honey mustard.

Put down your beer and head to the top floor of John's Big Deck. The rooftop patio is an earned experience after hiking 55 steps but once on top, you have a view of the City Market and downtown. In the winter the deck is covered and heated so you can still enjoy the views. The menu is pretty expansive for a dive style bar, and the amazing waitress we had recommended the Turkey burger. THIS Turkey burger was the best I've ever had. Under the hood of the toasted brioche bun slathered with garlic aioli, you'll find deep fried goat cheese, a fresh Turkey patty flattened and cooked to perfection, tomatoes, onions, and spinach drizzled with a balsamic glaze. There's a selection of different styles of fries, but I went with the tots and was not disappointed. I would easily order this over any other burger - it's a must try! The food came out quickly and the amazingly talented waitress gave a personal serenade to our friend for her birthday.

OK now THIS hit the spot with the rooftop patio. I have had my eye on checking this place out for a few years now but covid shut down and blah blah blah. We picked the perfect evening to come downtown for a date night and this was stop number two. The breeze was perfect. The tables were clean. Service was good and food came out hot. They have specials every evening. We tried a pepperoni pizza (not good) and the loaded waffle fries which were tasty. The pizza was just thin and had more cheese on it than crust and didn't have a whole lot of flavor. Crust couldn't hold up the thick pepperoni or cheese unfortunately. We will definitely be back!

I had never even heard of Besos y Abrazos but saw that it was very close by and an easy streetcar ride away to Power and Light so, I thought why not? And boy am I glad I took a leap of faith. I was the first person in the restaurant a little past 11am and I came hungry and left very happy. The first thing I had to do was order a before noon cocktail because why not? I have free will. I was torn between the refreshing sangria and the bold booze forward old fashioned so, I went with the old fashioned because if you're going to do it- do it big! The old fashioned here is smoked and made with tequila not whiskey so, it had a different flavor profile. I enjoyed it but I think it would have been even better made with mezcal to further pull out the smoky notes but, I would order it again. Then came my first course, whenever I see shishito peppers on a menu I'm a simple girl I order them. These were delicious, the tangy tajin was plentiful and took them up a notch. These are tied with my favorite shishito peppers I've ever had (the other being at Blue Sushi right across the street). I can't wait to come back and snack on these. Once again, I was happily surprised when I spied octopus in the main entree section because, this is one of my go to proteins to order. If it's not done right it's dismal. This was done flawlessly. The octopus was tender and could be cut with ease, it wasn't rubbery at all and tasted fresh. The polenta added a creamy element and the entire dish was colorful and well composed. I would consider it a must order if you're an adventurous eater. Dessert was also tasty especially since it was dairy free...dairy does tend to upset my tummy so, I gladly gobbled this up. The presentation was class and fun, a parfait in a large cocktail glass- I love! These textures all worked wonderfully together and each bite had something smooth and crunchy and nutty. All in all this meal was a 10/10 I can't wait to go back with my mom and try their brunch because I think she would love the colorful Spanish vibes of this restaurant. What a great addition to Power and Light District Kisses Indeed Mwah!

When we arrived, the hostess was not very friendly and seemed like she did not want to be there. She seated us, and we waited for service while another table that was seated after us had their drink order taken right away by a different waitress. That waitress walked by us without acknowledging us at all, so I asked the hostess if there was only one waitress working because I wanted to make sure we were not being overlooked. The hostess said she was both seating and waitressing, then walked off. She later brought us waters but did not take our drink order or check in with us. After continuing to wait, we decided to leave and went next door instead, where we had a much better experience. It was a really disappointing Mother's Day outing, especially because we had been looking forward to trying this restaurant. Unfortunately, the lack of friendliness, communication, and service made us feel ignored and unwelcome. I do not recommend this restaurant, and we will not be going back.

My only complaint was the server; she seemed very nonchalant and did not seem interested in actually serving us. It took quite a while to get her attention twice; it honestly seemed as if she was just going through the motions instead of ensuring that we were pleased with our experience. That alone made me hesitant to return, but I'm willing to give it another chance.

There is plenty else on the menu, but if you're vegan or vegan-ish, then good luck or maybe have a cheat day. The BBQ is fantastic and Ice House has added their own bar & grille twists, so you have options beyond smoked meats. Seating is pretty good, and with both a wraparound bar and table service, there are plenty of options. As is the norm these days, there are screens in all directions, so you just don't miss a single moment of sportsball if that's your jam. P&L is a jammed up place when events are happening, so if you can find yourself a spot to sit and enjoy, then that's a win. County Road offers that and more, and it's only real knock is the service levels, which can be slow at busy times. But hey, if you have a seat and maybe a drink, then wait just a few extra minutes for servers to plow their way through the bar crowd. Definitely worth it for the BBQ alone.
