Another great lunch at the Pearl! The menu this time was on point. Love Japanese food! Good job culinary students!

I was so stoked to get a reservation on OpenTable when I saw an article that Leeward Community College's student-run restaurant was opening again for the semester. A friend and I went in at 11:30am for an early lunch, and we were quickly seated by host Nathaniel. He was very courteous and professional. The Pearl has some beautiful views, so try to get a table near the windows, but really there are no bad seats. Server Stevie came to us quickly and gave us our menus. She was very friendly and answered all of our questions well. The food was amazing, and it's amazing that it's made by students! Every bite was delicious from the bread basket to the shrimp-artichoke salad to the grilled ahi with curry. Although the main dish and sides were great, I absolutely loved the blueberry-cream cheese biscuits. I wish I could've bought a tray of those to take home! And I just wish I could've tried more of the menu too. I will definitely be back!

Another delicious lunch at The Pearl! If you get a chance to dine at The Pearl I highly recommend going! These young chefs out do themselves every time! For $35 you get a 7 course prix fixe menu including coffee, tea or soft drinks. The portion size IMO is perfect and the presentation is appealing and everything was flavorful and delicious! We had to leave before dessert was served so they were kind enough to pack it to go.

Feeling lucky we were able to get reservations for a special menu lunch for the student chef showcase! $39 prix fixe, full of wonderful dishes made from scratch. YUM!

We had a nice time sending off one of my students at The Pearl. Our host, Raff and server, Dayden, were both super nice and professional. They gave some of the best restaurant service ever. I hope I spelled their names correctly. Food was good too.

All this beautiful food, delicious food, 2 bottomless ice teas, lavosh to start and 2 buns with the meal for $43 (tip not included). Yes, you heard correctly. I am so happy I got to make it here finally on a weekday between 11:30 - 1:30. Luckier still I got in without reservations. NOTE- if you are going to call for ressiez you may not get a live person and you will have to wait for a call back so plan appropriately. Service was pretty quick though an hour lunch break would likely be a bit too short (plan about an hour and fifteen minutes there). We just had an app and entree, no dessert. The food was wonderful and it's adorable to see the naive mistakes these inexperienced, future chefs make such as refilling our unsweetened tea with sweetened tea. They are all so sweet and you can see them trying so hard. Finally, I was told today that they now accept card. Yay for ease! I'll be back again with the whole office and I will encourage my retired parents to com often as possible to support this wonderful program and to get a great deal on some super delicious food!

The chocolate truffle. with raspberry hit the spot.

This is the 5th time having lunch here. This time it was the chef's menu with the students cooking and staffing the front of the house. A 4 course meal under $35. Student service was friendly and excellent. Each dish was tasty. I had the vegetarian Indian curry. So aromatic. The ambiance was great with window seating. I will be back for the student menu this April. We have been to the Pacific Culinary Institute in Vancouver several times and the Pearl is comparable in taste, service, and ambiance. Videos to the students and their professors.

Relaxing atmosphere and flavorful food. We were not rushed at all and service was great.

Student Designed Menu.

Great dining experience once again at the Leeward Community College Culinary Program! Student Menu Day with the aspiring Chefs and Front of House teams all out in view. Great kids, great food, great day! Thank you all! ‍

I bought the Swiss burger with Mac salad and coleslaw and devoured it less than five minutes after leaving. I will most definitely be back and be bragging about how great of a place it is to others.

We can deal with it being kinda in the ghetto of Waipahu but it was the very unhappy (clearly annoyed) counterperson who was taking our order - who SNAPPED AT MY MOM because she was confused with what comes with their plate lunch AND then the cook (assumedly - a different person than who took our order) annoyingly brought our items out to the table. She ordered the chop steak - I thought tasted ok, but it was seasoned heavier than my mom would like. Portion was right for the price. I got their signature Loco Moco burrito - SAD. It was $20, majority rice and mac salad, no meat. I needed a knife to cut the burrito in half, there was no counterperson or anyone available to ask for a knife, so I kind of looked around their register area and found a random one on the side, cut the burrito in half, DEFINITELY NOT how they showed it on TV, if the counterperson came back, I probably would have asked for them to swap it out. We were sitting for about 25 mins - nobody came back to the counter? If it wasn't for the counterpersons unfriendly attitude I was planning to buy their signature dessert to go, but I was turned off by the whole experience AND he didn't come back out anyways until literally I was throwing our containers away. He didn't greet us. Thank us. Ask how everything was. Or say anything when we were leaving. We saw the owners on TV and are happy and glad to support a local business BUT NOT when your employees are rude and unfriendly. $45 - 1 mini plate + 1 signature item and 2 cans of soda, I would SKIP this place
