Music from a speaker playing in the background as you wait sitting by those metal framed chains leaning against those black top tables. The prices seem comparable with the surrounding area. And food quality across the restaurant chain is consistent, consistently good. The cube steak is moist and whatever sauce you get is tasty. And the shrimps are decent size and not overcooked where they taste like rubber. They also serve chicken but why get that when their name is Ono steak? Overall four stars Food is good and prices are fair. There can be an unusual long wait time but your food is fresh off the grill. M

The whole point of me calling ahead is because I have somewhere to be -- I want to walk in, grab my order, and be out in under a minute. That's impossible when they're holding up the process over payment. I completely understand wanting payment upfront, but if that's the policy, why not set up a secure online ordering system? Giving out my card information over the phone just doesn't feel safe -- especially with all the scams going on these days. A lot of restaurants have already moved to online payment options that are way more secure and convenient.

We can deal with it being kinda in the ghetto of Waipahu but it was the very unhappy (clearly annoyed) counterperson who was taking our order - who SNAPPED AT MY MOM because she was confused with what comes with their plate lunch AND then the cook (assumedly - a different person than who took our order) annoyingly brought our items out to the table. She ordered the chop steak - I thought tasted ok, but it was seasoned heavier than my mom would like. Portion was right for the price. I got their signature Loco Moco burrito - SAD. It was $20, majority rice and mac salad, no meat. I needed a knife to cut the burrito in half, there was no counterperson or anyone available to ask for a knife, so I kind of looked around their register area and found a random one on the side, cut the burrito in half, DEFINITELY NOT how they showed it on TV, if the counterperson came back, I probably would have asked for them to swap it out. We were sitting for about 25 mins - nobody came back to the counter? If it wasn't for the counterpersons unfriendly attitude I was planning to buy their signature dessert to go, but I was turned off by the whole experience AND he didn't come back out anyways until literally I was throwing our containers away. He didn't greet us. Thank us. Ask how everything was. Or say anything when we were leaving. We saw the owners on TV and are happy and glad to support a local business BUT NOT when your employees are rude and unfriendly. $45 - 1 mini plate + 1 signature item and 2 cans of soda, I would SKIP this place

We had Bobby cater our wedding in November and the food was such a hit! We would recommend them…read moreover and over again! Our experience with Bobby started with private a tasting in their lounge of a few of the things we were hoping to have on our menu. We tried two mains, a salad and a few sides... when I say everything was a smash it, i really mean it! Our package included a third main and we honestly told him he could pick what to bring because obviously he knows how to cook- it'd be impossible to choose! For our wedding we had the kalbi shortribs, garlic shrimp, and huli huli chicken for our mains. Our salad was the one with the warm bacon dressing (OMG DELICIOUS), and we also had truffle mashed potatoes, a ratatouille, rice and i think 3 appetizers. It was ALL so good. Our guests have been raving about it since. Not only was the food to die for, but also the service before and during the wedding too! we had a few dietary restrictions to accommodate and Bobby was so easy to work with and already had ideas ready to go. Then there's the wait staff - who brought my husband and I full plates of everything first, before anyone else. So many people say they don't get to eat at their own weddings and they made sure that DIDNT happen to us. I was still so anxious that I didn't clear my plate but everything i DID eat was just as good as the tasting. The staff stayed and helped my coordinator for the rest of the night as well. After dinner they boxed up all the leftover food for us to take home and I was so happy for that! Since I didn't eat a ton at my own wedding I got to house all of the leftovers with our families. The taste, the value, the service... it really can't be beat. We've already decided we'll be tracking down his foodtruck whenever we can!

A great Happy Hour deal! Feel like having an early dinner (or linner) with some great tasting…read moreappetizers and drinks at reasonable prices, this is a place to check out! People start to line up about 20 - 30 minutes prior to the 430 PM opening time outside against the wall! The past couple of times we went there, we showed up 20 minutes early and was probably #4 or #5 in line. Since this is still towards the later part of mid-afternoon, it might either be a bit hot, or if it is rainy, it might be somewhat exposed to the elements, so check the weather before you go (early) and consider taking along an umbrella (just in case)! But there is enough seating for perhaps 20 - 25 people in the happy hour / bar area of the restaurant, so don't need to worry that much if you're in the first group (except you might just miss being the first to order)! Ribeye (12 oz) is really good, the NY is also good but in 2nd place, calamari (yum), passion fruit creme brulee (yum)! Then got a bunch in the "next tier" in the pack I guess... scallops dynamite, ahi poke, fish tacos, shrimp cocktail, bruschetta ... I suppose everyone got their own taste, but this is my unscientific ranking! :) Give this a try and get a small preview of what they may serve for the "real" dinner ;) !!!

I called Little Joe's a week prior to ask about whether they had any specials for Father's Day or if their Happy Hour menu would be available on that day. They confirmed that they weren't offering any specials, but that their Happy Hour would still be on, subject to walk-in. I planned Father's Day around this dinner and came early at 4:30 p.m. to ensure we would be able to get a seat. But once I got there, I was informed that they were NOT doing happy hour for Father's Day. There was nowhere else we really wanted to go and since we drove all the way out to Pearl City just to come here for dinner, we ultimately decided to take the hit on our wallets and dine with their regular menu. Since I was under the impression that it would be walk-in only for happy hour, I also didn't make a reservation and so we ended up waiting 1.5 hours to get a table. If I had known, I would've either made a reservation or save my gas and time by not coming at all. There was some hits and missed on the food, but the items that were good, were really good. Free bread: came out nice and warm, very fluffy. Whipped butter was also great. - Steak Tartare: I know it's a fan favorite, but personally, this basically had no flavor, unlike other tartares I've had elsewhere. The crostini was also way too tough and sharp. Granted, the roof of my mouth can be sensitive to rough textures, but this ended up kinda shredding the roof of my mouth after two pieces of the bread. - Rack of Lamb: Our favorite of the night! Pieces were sizeable, not gamey at all, and the flavors were fantastic. I loved the crispy crust on the bone. - T-Bone Steak: good ole' steak. It was cooked medium, just as we asked, and seasoned probably with just salt and pepper. Tender, with the exception of a few parts of the cut, but it was fine. - Mac n' Cheese: crowd favorite side! Incredibly creamy and with a blend of cheese that just coats the mouth in its cheesy goodness. Tasted good even when it was a little cold towards the end of our meal, but of course, it's best when served hot. - Fried Rice w/ Steak: this was just ok, steak was very tough. It came out kinda cold. Nice atmosphere with dim lighting, good for a date night. We were sat in a corner with a high table and chairs. Table was really small for three people and we could barely fit everything we ordered. We had to make sure we quickly finished the tartare and bread in order to make table space for the sides and entrees. Overall, I would likely come back to try the happy hour, but not for awhile due to the sour experience.

I'll never stop raving about this place…read more Minasa is a restaurant serving a variety of comforting and nostalgic Filipino food -- appetizers, entree, desserts and drinks. The space is cozy and welcoming, with limited amount of seating but ok for holding intimate events. Service is always great, food always comes out fresh and hot, and they always get our orders right. My personal favorites would be: * Kare-Kare (Beef Peanut Stew), which reminds me of my mom's cooking; and * Calamansi fried chicken + noodles, the noodles are very nostalgic for me as it reminds me of my "merienda" (afternoon snack) when I was growing up (in the Philippines). They usually change up their monthly specials (which I always look forward too) so make sure to check out their Instagram page @minasahawaii. They talked it up and hyped it up so my wife and I decided to try it out last October for our anniversary. We showed up and they were closed for an event. Since then we've tried to eat here multiple times with it being booked or not open. It's been elusive. Last weekend was the weekend we finally were able to eat here being in Waipahu and the wait finally ended! We ordered the chef's special, salted egg fried rice, ube churros, and banana lumpia sundae. The dishes were colorful and vibrant. Everything tasted good but we were looking for that twist that was hyped up to us and there was nothing unfamiliar to our taste buds. Though we left full and enjoyed our meal, the "new" flavors didn't stand out. Overall we were quite underwhelmed especially with all the hype that was given to us over their food. Maybe I ordered the wrong things? Not sure but we'll likely give this a second shot when we're in Waipahu again at the right time.
