The Peddlers Daughter has become a favorite. Though to us it is a restaurant, it feels like a true Irish pub. The menu is on the small side but there is always something delicious. Last time it was short rib. The meat was so tender, flavorful and did not require a knife! Beef stew was also very good. I love the mashed potatoes which seem to be "baked." Not sure but the crisp top is my favorite. The service is interesting. Once someone notices where you seat yourself one or more people come by for your order. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The decor is very pub like, dark and cluttered where you always feel welcome. And FYI when crab cakes are the special, order them. read more

My Reuben was excellent but my wife's Fish & Chips was just OK. Would have liked a vegetable option, even if it necessitated a surcharge. Service was great; friendly with a warm smile. Very loud environment made it difficult to hear our own conversation, made more so because we were sat next to what sounded like the only speaker in the pub playing loud Irish music. I showed up to chill with family . There was an active, live trivia night going on . The side music of the host was a vibe . I heard that they have weekend live music, which is a super cool aspect, the bar and atmosphere was beautiful. Sat at a table with the family. I was not hungry, but did not order any food and only picked off of what my family had. What was very, note worthy to me, was the homemade ketchup!! To be upfront as I got older I dislike ketchup altogether ....HOWEVER ....I was literally spooning the ketchup and eating it in mouthfuls, because it was so good, and I enjoyed the fact that it was homemade and not processed. Let's be real, the amount of ketchup given for one order of fries made me sad of how much of it went to waste. They had a great menu but I'm not a good judge here of the menu because did not taste any meals from it . If you read my reviews, but no, I love my margaritas. They had no flavors except for a potential makeshift watermelon or raspberry which I chose the raspberry, they made the drink strong, but it definitely was not in my top five favorites and taste... it did the job for sure. Right when we walked in, we were happily greeted. We were able to pick our own table. We sat in the corner in a cute little spot, looking out the window. I like how the building is partially underground so you can watch people walk by. The bangers were good. They had a nice snap to them. The potato chip nachos were very crispy. The burger my friend got was massive is probably the thickest burger we have seen. They have free refills on soda, which is nice! The pudding was amazing! read more

This was a retirement party, and on a Wednesday night they were fully prepared for the crowd about to come in. The service was awesome, the food amazing and the party was a total success. Love this place! Just tried it for the first time tonight, and it greatly exceeded my expectations. Had a couple pints of guiness and some fish and chips. Food was great! I was a little not sure about the homemade ketchup at first but it was awesome, especially when mixed with the house tartar sauce. Ambience was great, very cozy and chill and a hometown vibe. Service was friendly and fun, and didnt make us feel rushed. I wish there were more places like this (not everything has to be a milennial foodie destination, but it seems like that's all there is nowadays) but there arent many left and that's part of what makes it special. Hate to say it but didn't eat anything. The blue moon beer was delightful. But this is purely an observation. The two patrons next to us had the Shepards pie and the chicken fingers. Tonight I sat at the bar to watch the Sox game. Started with a Pint of Guinness and some Irish Nachos. A little different take on nachos. House Cooked Kettle Chips, Cheddar, Bacon, Onion, Tomato, Sour Cream and chicken on top. So good. Of course I ordered my favorite fish and chips entree. Three perfectly cooked filets with fries. Always served with their homemade ketchup and tartar sauce. It came out piping hot and perfectly cooked. Finally finished with a Smithwicks pint and a shot of Jameson. I live in Maine but i will literally travel to Haverhill just to eat here. Fantastic restaurant with a fun and cozy atmosphere. One of the restaurants where staff seem happy to be there. Highly recommend the Irish nachos, poutine, potato leek soup, Irish Cuban, corned beef, cottage pie and chicken pot pie. For dessert do not miss the bread pudding. I always love it here. The environment is way cooler than Nashuas Peddlers. The servers are always so funny and great. Food doesn't stray from the amazing norm. And it's in such a great area in Haverhill. Apparently the upstairs is boutique-y and there is a cigar bar next door that they own but I've never been so I can't comment on that. read more

I came here this past Sunday for a brunch meeting. Peddler's Daughter is in downtown Haverhill down the street from the commuter rail station. I'm not very familiar with Haverhill, especially the downtown area, so I likely wouldn't have found this place on my own. Because of the location, I had a hard time finding street parking, but I didn't have to pay anything because it was the weekend which was nice. The entrance is on the side of the building and thankfully there's a sign pointing towards it, because otherwise I may have been wandering around a bit longer. When you enter the door there's curtains leading to the pub, almost like you're entering some kind of secret exclusive club. The old pub feel with the Irish decor is pretty cool. The brunch menu was pretty limited and, unsurprisingly, potato-heavy. If you're on a low-carb diet it's slim pickings here. I opted for a three egg omelet with bacon, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese. There's a few other add-in options too. The omelet was served with breakfast potatoes, which were delicious, especially with their house-made ketchup. The omelet was very good too, cooked just right with a good balance of the eggs and the other ingredients. The server was nice but service was very slow, despite the restaurant not being very busy when I was there. I wasn't in a hurry by any means, but I was a little frustrated because it was hard to get her attention since she was either not in sight or engaging with the guys at the bar watching the Patriots game. I've been coming here for years. All the food is great: Cottage pie, Bangers and mash, Irish stew, etc. But my favorite is the corned beef sandwich. It is the tenderest corned beef I have ever had. We walked in, saw the bar tender and this guy who seemed like the cook since he walked past us and into the kitchen. We waited for a few minutes and the bartender disappeared. Hoping a hostess may be occupied, we waited and waited and waited. After 10 minutes, we decided to leave since it seems no one was going to attend to us. We've been to many pubs in Ireland, Wales and England over the years. Peddler's is about as close that you can get in this area. Great atmosphere and surroundings. Not a place to come for a quiet dinner! The menu is not 'vast' as written on Google, but it's still very good and very authentic. We had the fried pickles, the Irish nachos, and a special Irish quesadilla. All excellent but, be warned, the Irish Nachos are enough for 2 or 3 people (actually took half of it home). For mains, my wife had the cottage pie (one of her favorites) very good and half went home. My son had a special of a braised beef, very good. I had a corned beef sandwich, as good as it gets. The beer selection is 'vast' with many on draft, including our favorites: Guinness stout and Smithwicks Ale. Good bar scene as well. Very reasonable prices. Well I met friends there because they were having five dollar bloody Mary's when you go in and order they ask what kind of vodka would you like I said Whatever if I have a choice titos , my friend said grey goose, at the end of the day they were not five dollars they were over $10. I wouldn't mind the bartender had said they are more expensive that way but she offered what type of vodka and when it was 3 o'clock we said can we get another one before the happy hour is over and she said yes so our bill went from $30-$60 I thought that was rather sneaky won't be back again for brunch. I would like to change this review because the manager called and apologized and took the difference off my bill. I'm not deleting this because i want people to see how on top of issues this establishment is!!! read more
