Pulled pork nachos. No toppings. Cheese was not melted.

It's a regular dive bar. Nothing special. Decent beer on tap. Decent prices. People were friendly. But the food was not good. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. Don't get the pulled pork nachos. The cheese wasn't melted and they don't come with any toppings.

I'm not sure who has is giving this place five stars or even two stars.. Went tonight with friends and sat out back, it was nice. Got our drinks. Meal time came and husband ordered a Cuban and I ordered a burger, medium rare. My husband got a Reuben (not a Cuban) and I got a well done Burger and couldn't eat it, (just picked at one half of bun in some parts.) Showed it to the server and also advised her of the fact that my husband got a reuben and not a Cuban (although he likes both and so he was fine with it) but for me it was not fine. Server apologized and offered a redo but honestly we'd already been there for about 30 minutes and I didn't want to wait that long again. No manager came over. It was very disappointing. I wouldn't recommend it nor would I ever go back. Note: I didn't specifically ask for manager but had hoped that server would have sent them over. Awful, awful food.

    Roasted Veggie Pappardelle Pasta

I'm glad I ordered fries just in case, because my luck with anything pasta is usually bad. I ordered the veggie pappardelle pasta with chicken, but alas...it never came with the chicken. Definitely not a vegan, so I ate as much as I could with chili flakes and went to town with the fries. Otherwise, the tavern's staff and regulars definitely have a fun personality. I was wearing a costume for a Spartan event prior and they couldn't help being curious and laughed together about it. The vibe differs because you'll walk right into a round table for the bar and the friends of the tavern. Then you'll go right and sit in church pews? I may come back again just to relax and have a few beers with friends since they live across the street.

Outdoor patio with cornhole and tables. They have other configurations of tables (couches, high tops) too.

This place is a hidden gem. The patio is an oasis with great tables (shaded by umbrellas) with the backdrop of the giant mill buildings across the street. The beers are cold, the wait staff is on top of things, and the food is good. We had an event here for 25 people and it was the perfect size- very casual and easy to mingle and eat appetizers. Highly recommend!

Delicious poutine with pulled pork. Harmonized nicely with a draft Sam Adams Winter Later. About $13, I think (the pulled pork was $4 extra)

A little reticent to award a fifth star to a place I have visited just once (today, as a matter of fact), but my experience was flawless. Excellent service by dayside bartender/food runner Liz H., a slick, clean atmosphere, good selection of beers on tap (and properly chilled), and quite excellent grub. I ordered the poutine with an additional topping of pulled pork, and the portion was princely and the taste was delightful. Lighting's a little dim for my terrible eyes, though Liz lent me a pair of cheaters, which helped a little. I live just five minutes (walking) from the fine Muddy Waters Tavern in Methuen, but this newish Lawrence tavern (the former Frosty Mug) is likely to win a bit of my business. I work out of town: otherwise, I would be a lunchtime regular. Highly recommend.

Cute place. Nice fast service. Great beer. Fresh cold hot food. Reuben sandwich was a big hit.

Did I just order food and now you point out the dust bunnies?

So the drinks were good, the food was good, the service was good but damn break out the duster and clean the joint. The boat hanging from the ceiling had covered in an inch deep dusty. Gross! Might be a good neighborhood bar but I won't be back until you clean it up ‍

Fryer was broken so menu was extremely limited. Went with Steak Tips which were extremely chewy and Rice Pilaf on the side was crunchy

Food was great as well as the drinks. Was very busy so service was a bit slow. But was worth the wait. Will definitely be back

Best bar in town. Laid back, cozy and has a nice outdoor area. Helps that the food is decent and the bartenders are rockstars.

Good food. Alcoholic beverages are high priced. Ambiance is all right, if you like a bar atmosphere.

Ask the Community - Tavern on Merrimack

    Is this good for kids?

We brought our 12 yr old and was fine. I think if you are there after 8-9pm they sometimes have bands so depending on your kids ages that may not be ideal. But lunch or early dinner (out before 8 ish) would be fine for all ages.

I LOVE dive bars. The divier the better…read more And this one has become my most recent favorite. For the past few months my sister and I have come here EVERY Tuesday for a little bonding time. (Ok, we come to get W45T3D but whatever.) At this point the bartender knows to expect us and even asked my boyfriend where we were when he arrived an hour before us last week. She said she thinks we're "fun". We ARE the party. Duh. They have everything a bar should have: Cheap beer on tap, hard liquor for shots (Jager bombs anyone?), and a jukebox. That's pretty much all it takes to keep me happy. There are usually a few old townies drinking in the corner when we show up but after we take over the music situation they either pack up and head out or sit back and enjoy the show. We take this place over. And lately we've been bringing more people with us every time -- Because seriously, what else is there to do on a Tuesday night? I've come a couple times on the weekends. It's usually PACKED with "bro's" and college kids. All set. I'll stick to week night drinking :)

They have a a large out door patio that is perfect to knock back a few cold ones under the night's sky or during a nice summer day. They also allow smoking on the patio, if your into that. They have a large parking spot but it's not paved so you have to drive on a dirt and small pebbles. The piece is extremely affordable. The popcorn machine is a cool added benefit. The music box is cool but they people that chose the music suck. It's my go to bar in this area. Not really sure how the re-review works but tonight is was a cool night to come here. They have a live music DJ. Paying good drinks jams and at a volume that is not over baring. They have that sand bag game on the out door patio so that's cool to drink and play with friends. The hot fresh popcorn is a plus. Glad I found this local bar. The parking lot is still not paved and have made zero progress in doing so so that still sucks.

And we interacted with neighboring tables on both sides to recommend (when asked) the oysters, and when one received a drink with a big smoke bubble that created a magical flow of smoke when it burst. French inspired drinks and food were fantastic and interesting. The French 75 menu was so interesting-- choose your flavor and your bubbles. I tried two, the classic with rosé was so pretty, and the honey lavender with base level champagne was delicious. The raw oysters were to die for! Perfect little pop of acidity with other flavors delicately added and perfectly balanced. The oysters Rockefeller were also perfectly delicious. The foie gras is not something I would normally eat, but my boyfriend loves that stuff so we went with it. I enjoyed it more than he did. It was not a classic foie gras, it was smoother with a creamier texture and more buttery flavor. Eating it with the fig jam and "light as clouds" toast made it absolutely delicious! I enjoyed every minute and mouthful--would definitely seek this place out again even though I live an hour away! We enjoyed ourselves too much to take pictures!
