The food was good not great , breakfast was served warm not hot . I liked the road side dinner feel of the restaurant. If your in a hurry I'd look elsewhere for a quick breakfast, I'll give them another try for breakfast again at some point before I decide to keep them on or off the breakfast rotation list

The cattle and horse trailers can take up a good share of the parking lot. It's an unassuming cafe, no frills really, but its meant for the business of the building it's located in. If you want fancy, move along. What Hitt's the Spot does well is the food. And the genuine interest in the customers. It obvious the regulars, both the workers and the customers have dealt with each other on a routine basis. You can't fake that comraderie. Having stopped in for breakfast and at a loss as to what option sounded best, I was directed to the corned beef hash. I was told it was house-made and that was good enough for me. I wasn't disappointed. First, the portions are not skimpy. It was large chunks of corned beef, nicely shredded potatoes and large pieces of onion. There was no mistaking this for the hash out of a can, either by appearance or taste. I look forward to coming by to try some other things.

The burger was dense and somewhat dry, while the sirachi was a small dollop it was tasted in only one bite. The beer battered onion rings were heavy and sweet. The cajun fries were good. The burger, fries and rings are decent, but not remarkable. I felt The Burger Dive may thrive in competitions, while serving the masses is more of a challenge. Rather than dwelling on my assessment, please give The Burger Dive a chance and rate them on your own. It is hard to besmudged a business when they have a large and loyal following. My mom ordered a steak and her two sides were the brussels sprouts and the mac & cheese. Brussels sprouts are really tasty and the mac & cheese was good although I felt like it could've used a little bit more salt. But that may have just been my pallet. Overall, really enjoyed the food and will definitely come back and try it again. Another plus is that they actually serve Doc holiday seven year which is rare to find in a lot of locations.

So, ok, we can deal with only select cuts. The problem comes in the fact that I ordered medium rare prime rib and got medium well. My daughter ordered sirloin medium and got medium rare. The other couple we were dining with ordered a medium rare ribeye and received well done. When they sent it back they received a rare ribeye that was cold in the center. Maybe you could overlook THREE incorrectly cooked steaks IF they weren't each over $35. But when I say high end I mean PRICEY! Maybe you'd give more grace if the service was exceptional. However our experience included a server who took our drink order and disappeared for over 30 MINUTES! Thankfully we were talking and watching Tombstone (and enjoying the a/c) so we only noticed it had been 30 MINUTES because my alarm went off to restart the vehicle. I did not take pictures of the entrees and I absolutely should have but after the incredibly long wait for drinks, then a long wait to take our order, and another long wait for food I just was too distracted and irritated. We loved the atmosphere, love the movie didn't like much else. Maybe just go for drinks, appetizers or dessert. But don't expect a great meal. The salad bar for lunch was already set up, but there wasn't anybody in that area of the dining room. The breakfast menu is standard, and one item could be ordered as a skillet or a scramble depending on how you wanted your eggs. I opted for the skillet. It was an unusual skillet in that the bacon was really bacon crumbles. Nothing wrong with that, but it made it very hard to tell the difference between the bacon and the potatoes, which were small and nearly the same color. Overall, it did not look appetizing. There was a lot of food, but it was monochromatic with the eggs the only color, everything else was dark brown. I was hesitant. Fortunately, it tasted much better than it looked. The bacon crumbles were crispy enough to give some texture and the potatoes. some crispy, some not, were a middle point between the bacon and the eggs. While it tasted fine, maybe it wasn't the best thing to order, or the best time of day to order it. I suspect this place isn't used to having customers in the late morning. Oddly, there was no-one in the casino section so am not sure why there wasn't any attention given to the details. One thing -- does the only TV in the restaurant have to be on the 24-hour "need legal help" infomercial looping the same 15-minute segment? Takeaway: don't come here alone or without something to read.

It is a 50 mile trip to get there and I would walk. Listen to all the good reviews and ignore the idiots who are looking for a fancy restaurant. This is down home cooking with a southern feel. We traveled the whole country, so we know. Sent a new neighbor who is from South Carolina and he loved it. We both had the Country Benedict for late breakfast. HUGE and tasty. Coffee was so-so, but not bad like most places. Service was great. Everybody was super friendly. Customers were mostly regulars who are there every day. Breakfast special lasts until 8AM. Wish they were open later because we want to go for our anniversary. It is our 54th !!

Breakfast and lunch only…read more Hog Wild is all kinds of low-key, borderline "divey" atmosphere, but full of personality in service, decor, and food. I'm not sure what I spent more time doing: reading and looking at the overwhelming amount of hog decor, or listening to the locals discussing sundry mundane things, but sometimes funny things, with the other locals. When it comes to the food, there's been nothing disappointing (except maybe the coffee, but okay). Every day the have a list of specials and while nothing to make you think gourmet, you won't be disappointed by the plain food, done well, and given to you by the really awesome staff.
