Went solo to the Last Stands mixology class. Before you make your drinks you get a champange toast, and then you get instructions on how to create your cocktails. This is such a fun experience to do alone or with a group of friends. There is music , dancing and of course drink making. I also ordered a chacurerie board and hummus bowl and they were really good. Attended a mixology class at The People's Stand with Dallas Black Bloggers, and it was an absolute vibe! From the moment I walked in, the music, energy, and setup were perfect. We made a cocktail using their in-house strawberry-infused gin (my fav fruit ), and it was so smooth and delicious! The DJ kept the energy up all night, and we even had a little charcuterie break between rounds. Such a fun, interactive experience with amazing people and great drinks. It was a great back and forth game but the ambiance and atmosphere is what created the vibe amidst a roller coaster of emotions from the game. What an awesome experience!! Came in to take their evening cocktail making class for my friend's bachelorette party. We did not stop laughing and smiling the whole time. It was such a fun experience that People's Last Stand offers. Our teachers were so amazing and friendly and really helped us out. They also have options for non alcoholic if you have someone in your party that cant or doesnt drink. Went for a private event where we learned about bourbon and got to make a couple of cocktails. That part was very enjoyable. The walls are decorated with historical photos which are really very cool. But in a fairly empty place on a Tuesday I went to the bar three times and was ignored three times, including twice by the bartender, Reese, who taught the class earlier in the evening. Walked right by me standing at the bar without even looking my way. Who knows, I might have wanted to buy a bottle for our table or buy a round for everyone in the bar. Or maybe I just wanted to buy a drink and leave a nice tip to express my appreciation for the cocktail class. I must not have had the right look. When I had earlier thought during the evening that I might want to come back for another visit sometime, I now don't think that's ever going to happen. Came here before a movie. I had been here a long time ago and remembered the cocktails being good and the bartender was nice and made a good martini, but it was missing olives, boo. The reason I won't return though is this is no cozy bar. It's LOUD. Almost no seating because the room is dedicated to large tables for cocktail classes, even at 5pm? I came to the 2:00 class with my husband to celebrate our birthdays and it was everything I'd hoped. We were late, but they still accommodated us. We were quickly seated and followed along with a group. We got to meet other people at our table, which was fun as well. The people's last stand 7:30 class June 2023 We had a class of like maybe 10-12 people. Setup: Online you choose a time slot and book with your credit card. Nothing is charged until after the class is completed, and they bring you a check. Once there: Come in, and check in. Have your name marked off. They'll instruct you to sit at the bar or the sofa area until they're ready for class to begin. Class didn't start until maybe 10-15 min after the scheduled time, which allowed others to come in. -each customer gets a glass of water and glass of champagne. -the instructor introduces themselves and passes the mic around for introductions. Name, age, favorite drink, one unique fact. -instructor then goes over the items in front of you and introduces the first drink. Pros: a different experience, other than going out to eat Friendly staff. I would recommend. Champagne included before you start Learn how to make 2 drinks, and they explain what everything is, from the ingredients of the cocktail down to the tools used to make it, and their origins. Parking garage available. I am not sure if it's free or validated, because I lucked up on a parking spot right outside of the venue. They give you a break after making the first drink so you can go out on the patio so they can clean. Cons: The speaker system is not the best. Opt to sit next to the presenter so you can hear. We were at the back near the door, and it was very hard to hear. Also? There was a separate party seated in the couch area behind the presenter. It was extremely hard to make out what the presenter was saying. I thought that they would tell them to be quiet, but that never happened. This was a MAJOR con for me, as I missed a good piece of the instruction. When the instructor used the mic, it was muffled and mixed with a bit of an echo. When he didn't, it was better, but the people behind him laughing and being loud interrupted that. After our break, the party behind the presenter left, and the experience was much better. If you're a germaphobe -- this is a shared ingredient class. You will be sharing the spirits and other ingredients to make the drink with others around you. Ice is shared, garnishes, etc. no Tongs we're given for the lime wedges. You just dig your fingers in and get them. $50 was a little steep to not FULLY enjoy the experience. Not hearing the instructor really killed it for me. I'm glad that I was able to at least enjoy part 2 of the class. Upgrades beyond what could be fixed in the aforementioned details: 1) consider updating the class calendars with the drinks that'll be made during that scheduled time slot. I saw another review state they made a mule during their class. I would be terribly upset making that, as I don't drink them. 2) Consider making the booking experience more customizable with a bio of your bartender/ instructor. (Similar to how painting with a twist does) 3) Have patrons wash their hands before being seated. Also, have them wash their hands before drink 2. Or have hand sanitizer available. 4) One instructor at the front end and one at the back so that all students can hear/ learn. Or a smaller speaker near the end of the table. All in all, I plan to return with other friends. 3.5/5 experience. I just didn't want to put it at a 3!!!! read more

It was really fun and we all enjoyed it. Prior to the class, you fill out a brief survey and mention what kind of flavors and alcohol you want. So when you come to the class they have that particular combination for you. We started out the class with a champagne drink. And then we proceeded to make our cocktails. The bartender really taught us a lot about how to make drinks and how to measure, shake, add garnishments etc. We were able to play whatever kind of music we wanted and the bartender was super cool. We laughed a lot and danced and just had a really good time. I'm pretty sure we had more than those three drinks because we were all tipsy by the end of it. I mentioned that I liked tequila and citrusy drinks. But I wish they would've asked more questions. Because both of the drinks that were to be made were sweet and I hate sweet drinks. Also, the main mixer was watermelon juice and I abhor watermelon. So that kind of sucked. For reference, my favorite drink is a Mojito. I like Paloma's too. Citrusy and bright but not too sweet. I would highly recommend this fun activity for any occasion (girls night, date night, or a b day celebration). During this experience, we made two cocktails. We were given a glass of champagne to set the atmosphere. The only alcohol options for the cocktails we prepared were Vodka and Tequila. Our teacher did a great job of explaining the materials used to make the cocktails. He also did a great job of leading a large class. In between making each cocktail, there is a brief intermission to mix and mingle while the staff prepare the work stations for the next drink. This process took a while and it could benefit from a smoother transition. I thoroughly enjoyed the Tequila based drink which was a delicious margarita. The only missing aspect of experience is an improved and updated playlist. The price of the class was $50 which I thought was reasonable.
