Cute and very chill esthetics! Veryyyyy quick service, honestly to the point of feeling a little rushed. Not sure if they have a rule of flipping tables quickly, but we had a show at 8pm, made our rezzie at 530p and if we would have let the server dictate our flow, we would have been out of there by 610p. Hisband orderer a nut brown, which came, but was orange in color and super hoppy. Not sure if we got the wrong beer or the sever put it in incorrectly...but he was able to swap that for an Old Fashioned and the beer was taken off our tab appropriately. Started off with the cornbread. Very good! I ordered the turkey burger with a side salad, also super flavorful. Husband had the half chicken with mashed potatoes. He loved it! Carrot cake is a crowd pleaser, and the Perch's version was an amazing rendition! Highly recommend. Patio had great vibes, although lots of children, it is dog friendly. Extra cudos for having an Oregon Pinot Noir.

Stopped in on a Saturday evening. The place is pretty large with lots of seating. In the middle of summer it was so cold in there that we were uncomfortable. The service was great. Our waitress was very attentive even though they were busy. Love that they have many beers to choose from, so I got a flight. My friend got the filet sliders and said they were slightly overcooked for her liking. I got the burger, ordered it medium and it was also a little overcooked. I do also wish the burger had any kind of sauce on it. Only had the ketchup that the fries came with. Overall, the meal was nothing special but we did enjoy it.

Had not been to the Perch in years, and it was a great day to stop by for apps and drinks - except that a storm made it impossible to sit on the patio! The outdoor seating is always packed during the summer. I wish they had some half off appetizers during Happy Hour as the prices were a bit steep ($16 for cheese/vegetable curds), and most of the deals were for beers. Really good service, drinks, food, and vibes overall! World Cup game was on, and the interior is a great space with high-tops, tables, and booths.

A friend and I went to the Perch to have a cocktail before dinner with our friends elsewhere. Our waiter was very attentive. We ordered Hugo spritzes and they were strong and delicious. We ordered cheese curds to share, which were yummy, however, at least 50% vegetables which was disappointing because they were not cheap! Their happy hour menu is a bit abbreviated, so I definitely would skip it next time, as we didn't even order from it. But I would come by again to order something else off the menu!

Very cute happy hour and patio section. Attentive service and the Brussels sprouts are 10/10 highly recommend! Aperol spritz was ok

Food is consistently good here. Ordered the TRADITIONAL BREAKFAST* 2 eggs your way, choice of bacon or maple sausage, hashbrowns or fruit, choice of toast. The hash browns are really rich and I feel like I could have shared them. The servers made sure I was good on my coffee and water. Love the vibe here, the restaurant is beautiful.

This is the kind of place you can count on to have a fun night out! With a lively atmosphere and a delicious menu with something for everyone, what more could you want? The interior was classy yet unpretentious with a beautiful patio perfect for enjoying the nice summer weather. The cocktail list had some intriguing options and they had a quality beer selection. Our server was very professional and attentive throughout the meal, making for an all around great experience. For food, we ordered the prime rib french dip sandwich with fries and the turkey burger with coleslaw. The beef was super tender and not at all overcooked. I especially loved the flavorful horseradish and crusty yet chewy bread. The fries were just okay for me- I felt they could have been crispier and arrived a bit lukewarm. The turkey burger may have been one of the all around best burgers I've ever had. The meat had a perfectly crispy char while still being incredibly tender and juicy. I absolutely loved the spicy Asian-inspired slaw, which was both fresh and spicy. The side coleslaw was also excellent. The veggies were shredded super finely and soaked up the delicious slightly sweet dressing really well. Overall, we had a great visit and will 100% be back to try more of the menu!

I liked this spot!! Was briefly in town and meeting a friend. Always happy to try new restaurants and this one was a success. Love the overall vibe inside; industrial-modern!? Just a very trendy and welcoming spot. There's plenty of seating along the right, bar-side with hightops, and even more on the right where there is low dining seating. We popped into a comfy booth. Service was friendly, and speedy! He came back with our drinks in a flash. This place is a brewery so we had to try- both really liked their light, crisp pilsner on tap. They have a good size menu with all kinds of options. My friend got the chicken dip sandwich (as recommended by the server) and loved it. They had a 'specials' menu so I decided to order from there- the tuna poke was so good! Lots of flavor. Tuna was fresh. The chips were the perfect added crunch. I'd certainly return!

    Pork belly bites. Amazingly addictive

Tried them out during restaurant week. Had such a wonderful experience, we decided we'd 'spin the block' and made another reservation for 4 weeks later before we even left the 1st reservation. We went for brunch both times. Yum! Our server Tim was top tier so we asked to sit in his area again yesterday. He rocks btw. Gives honest opinions and didn't stear us wrong. I love an honest wait staff! Only thing I was sad about was they didn't have the pork belly bites () this time (must've been specifically for restaurant week) and the shareable bacon was just a side order(3 slices=not shareable for bacon lovers) I'm pretty sure we're going back again next month to try their dinner menu. We can't wait

Perfect place for girls lunch on a week day . Quick reservation availability. Street parking is a hit or miss thankfully at 1 pm on division it was easy but have that in mind. Walking in it was amazing high ceilings open space I really like all the light coming in . Great service with Maria I believe her name was super patient with us being so indecisive. For the table we order d the cheese curds which was delicious never had it with panko so gave it that light crunch was hoping for cheese then the vegetables but it was a nice touch . Food wise two of the people at our table enjoyed their chicken dip sandwhich chicken was fresh as they do rotisserie chicken in house which is great . At the table we had the Wrightwood salad which was perfect crunch the rotisserie chicken was also fresh in it . Huge portion perfect for the table or to take home . I ordered the prime rib dip and it was delicious I saved the other half just so I can have it for dinner , I will be dreaming of the au jus that was just perfection on every-bite thankful that they made my fries to order well done . I enjoy a crispy fry. No room for dessert or an afternoon pick me up but gives more reason to come back .

The Perch is a great gastropub in the wicker park neighborhood. Offering a wide variety of menu options they are also a brewery where they brew their own beer. It is a causal and trendy vibe offering both indoor and outdoor seating. The food was really delicious and if you can't get a table I do highly recommend sitting at the bar. I feel you get just as good of service. One standout for me was the lobster deviled eggs. I have never had deviled eggs this way and it was just absolutely delicious. We also got Brussels sprouts salad, cheese curds, and crab cakes. Everything about this place was just really great and they also have happy hour times as well.

    The Woodpecker And French Fries

Had some pretty good beers at this local brewery. It also has a bit of a food menu. The Perch is one of those fancy craft places with the crowds of screaming women. Crazy that people talk more about the food. With the hipster location you'll already know about the high prices on most things. For sure it was pretty busy. It's in the middle of a crowded ass area with tons of other bars and restaurants. There weren't as many here though. Maybe because they don't care as much about beer. They'll be getting overpriced cocktails and seltzers. It's about $8 for a pint. Kind of a lot but it's expected for a place like this. The best we had of these was The Woodpecker. A German Pilsner. This also has notes of floral and is spicy. It's about $7 for the French Fries. Pretty limited menu for vegetarians. Mostly meaty. There's burgers and fish but ironically there isn't perch. Great selection of locally made beers. It's also got a meaty good menu. This is located on Division close to the Blue Line station.

    Are dogs allowed?

    Yes out on the patio

    Gluten free options?

They are great with dietary restrictions! I was dairy and gluten free for a while and they worked with me.

    Is the patio dog friendly?

    Yes!

    Street parking tough?

There is pay to park all over that area but typical downtown parking. You may get lucky and find a spot out front, or you may drive around for 20 minutes looking only to end up valeting. 🤷🏼‍♀️

We chose to dine at Girl & the Goat in Chicago, a restaurant we had never visited before. The acclaimed restaurant by renowned chef Stephanie Izard truly lived up to its stellar reputation! One of the first things we appreciated was the convenience of the restaurant's valet parking, located right by the front patio. At $22 for up to four hours and $26 for four to eight hours, the rates were quite reasonable for the area. As soon as the three of us stepped inside Girl & the Goat (we had made a reservation for 6:30 pm on a Friday), we were warmly greeted by one of the two friendly hostesses, and were promptly led to a comfortable four-top table with a banquette and two chairs along the wall. We felt fortunate to have one of the better tables in the dining room, as some of the others were positioned very close together. The nearby two-top tables, in particular, were quite small and placed only a short distance from ours. The restaurant's rustic-industrial décor was dark but trendy and stylish, the lively and vibrant vibe was warm and welcoming. However, I have to mention that it was really loud in the dining room, as guests seemed to be enjoying themselves and talked loudly.  It was hard to hear our server and the staff who delivered and explained the dishes to us.  Our server, Yazmin, was extremely friendly and attentive.  It was very sweet of her to wish us a happy anniversary both in the beginning  and at the end of the meal.  She also checked in on us several times during the evening.  Now, on to the food and drinks. I started with a glass of the NA Sparkling Rosé ($17), which was light, crisp, and quite refreshing. My husband ordered a glass of Le Colture Prosecco ($18), while our daughter chose the Sun Kid ($18). She enjoyed her drink, although she felt the portion was a bit small, as the glass was filled with a lot of ice that took up much of the space. Since the restaurant offers small to medium plates which are shareable, Yazmin advised us to get 5 to 6 dishes for 3 people to share.  We decided to get 5 savory dishes and 3 desserts to share: Savory dishes: Chickpea Fritters ($20), goat yogurt, green chutney, sev spice crunch, pickled rhubarb. Pan Roasted Halibut ($37), miso-Marcona almond butter, spring onion blueberry nuoc cham. Roasted Pig Face ($28), sunny side egg, tamarind, cilantro, red wine-maple, potato stix. Goat Empanadas ($24), smoked tomato-corn salsa, roasted poblano crema queso fresco. Confit Goat Belly ($38), strawberry goat braise, smoked yogurt drizzle, pickled strawberries. Desserts: Vacation, Please! ($16), toasted coconut crunch, lemon passion fruit sorbet, rum-soaked pineapple cake. Berry Yummy Par-tea ($16), earl grey soaked sponge cake, yuzu curd, spiced blackberries. Chocolate Basil Brownie Bash ($16), olive oil semifreddo, chocolate fennel crunch, basil granita. The meal was just phenomenal!  All the savory dishes were cooked perfectly with bold flavors; the meats were tender and full of flavors.  There were dishes that we normally would not have ordered if we saw them on menus of other restaurants.  Here, we tried them and were delighted that we did!  Our consensus is that Roasted Pig Face is our most favorite! It is everything we love in a comfort dish -- crispy on the outside, meltingly tender inside, and packed with rich, balanced flavor.  We will definitely order this again!  The Confit Goat Belly is a close second, with buttery, fall-apart meat and just the right balance of richness, acidity, and crunch. For dessert, "Vacation, Please!" is the one that we will always come back for. The toasted coconut crunch adds texture, the lemon passion fruit sorbet brings a refreshing tang, and the rum-soaked pineapple cake ties it all together with just the right amount of sweetness.  The other two desserts that we ordered were also very good.  The staff even brought out a scoop of Chocolate Ice Cream on the house, with two lit candles to celebrate our anniversary - a thoughtful touch that made the evening even more memorable.  This dessert spread was the perfect ending to an incredible meal. I'd like to mention that the restaurant added a 4% surcharge to the bill, which the customer may request to have the surcharge remove if you choose.  We let them keep it. We spent about two hours at the restaurant. The savory dishes came out very quickly, the pace probably was even a tad too fast, but the desserts made up for it by taking a longer time.  We did not mind as we were still full, and had time to enjoy the ambiance more.  I would say it is a restaurant great for group gathering and celebratory functions, but not so much for intimate romantic date night.  All in all, it was a wonderful dinner, we look forward to returning again.

I was there the other week (I've been here at least five times before), and a busser--not our…read morewaiter--started clearing both of our plates before we were finished eating. We each only had a couple of bites left, but it definitely gave off an "okay, you're done now" vibe. Then he went to take the green beans (arguably the cult classic on the menu), and we still had more than half of them left. I had to stop him and say, "Yeah, we're not done with those. We paid for them. Can you put them in a to-go box instead?" For context, it was about 20 minutes before closing, but we ordered with plenty of time and were already eating with a "get in, eat, and get out" mindset. I've just never had someone at a restaurant start clearing plates while we were still actively eating--without asking, "Are you finished?" "Can I clear this?" or "Would you like a to-go box?" It was just... "You're done, these are leaving now." We were there for less than 45 minutes, left about 15 minutes before closing, and spent over $200 (not including the tip). With so many options in Chicago, I don't see myself coming back here.

Hands down, and I don't say this lightly - Boka is one of my favorite restaurants in the country. I don't think it's too wild to say it may certainly be my FAVORITE restaurant in the US of A. This past week was my second pilgrimage to Boka, and I was stoked as ever. We ordered some non-alcoholic drinks, a few appetizers, and our entrees (duck and black truffle chicken). We had a nice discussion with the waiter and shared our enthusiasm and excitement with him. We shared that this was our return to my safe culinary haven, and I was prepared to be dazzled again. And dazzled I was. The chicken was phenomenal. The flavors were amazing and so poignant, and the tenderness of chicken made you really question if you were eating chicken at all. Everything was so moist and tender, and each bite was a ballet of flavor in your mouth. The duck, although not the star of the show, was hearty and delicious as well. The parsnip puree added an earthiness complexion to each slice of duck. The kicker of the night was when our server brought us our bill at the end. He gifted us complimentary menus of what we ordered that night, paired with a generous "Welcome Back" and the date of our wonderful evening. That small, but mighty, gesture encapsulates Boka in a nutshell. Fine dining, excellent quality of food, topped with service that was personally catered to make our meal enjoyable. It's about the experience, and every aspect of our experience at Boka was met with extraordinary marks. I'm dreaming already of round 3 at Boka. When? I don't know. But I'll be ready to tango again.

We started with the bluefin tuna tart, which was light and refreshing. The topping was delicious, but I think dialing it back just a bit would let more of the tuna shine through. The dry aged beef tartare was one of my favorite dishes of the night. The crispy potato chips added a great crunch, and the cornichons brought just the right amount of acidity to balance everything out. Next came the Hokkaido scallops, and they were cooked perfectly. I also appreciated that the kitchen split all of our appetizers onto separate plates since we were sharing. It's a small detail, but it made the meal feel much more thoughtful. For our entrees, we ordered the black truffle chicken and the glazed beef short rib. I'm not sure how they prepared the chicken, but it was incredibly tender with some of the most flavorful skin I've had. Every bite was juicy and almost melted in your mouth. The short rib was just as impressive, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I've also done the tasting menu here before, and it was just as memorable. You definitely won't leave hungry. The restaurant has a great atmosphere too. It feels perfect for a date night without being so dim that you can barely see your food.

I'll definitely be back to hang out at the bar again nest time I am in town!

Very first time visiting Yardbird's while visiting Chicago since it was on our to- try list. We…read moredidn't have a reservation but were able to be sat immediately. We were greeted by the host in which I believe to be the manager. He was pleasant and welcome. The restaurant itself is aesthetically appealing and it gives an upscale vibe. We sat and didn't have to wait too long for the waitress. She was nice and assisted up accordingly! I ordered the bottle of champagne for mimosas with pineapple and orange juice and was pleasantly surprised by the $35 price since we're used to paying twice that back home. The food came out pretty quick and was hot and ready to eat. All of our food was good well and we all enjoyed our dishes. My only takeaway would be if guests ordered bottled water and/or champagne, the waitress should poor them into the glasses for you. From my experience, this is something that I thought was a norm. Overall, great place to eat!

Arrived just as they opened at 10AM on a Friday and were the first customers in the door, but by…read morethe time we left at 11:30 there was a good sized line. Vibes inside are excellent and drinks are (very) boozy with a variety of booths, tables, and bar seating available. Burger with Egg and Bacon (4.25/5): Look, this is a great burger. Bacon is melt in your mouth and the egg adds a bit of creamy richness on top of the fatty, salty beef and cheese combo. The bread bun is pillowy, but I wouldn't wait in a line for hours for this. Bone Marrow (10/5): Now I would wait in line for hours for this bone marrow dish that absolutely changed my life. This comes with 4 HUGE pieces of bone marrow that you spread over fluffy, perfectly toasted Texas toast and pair with a beef cheek marmalade that exactly rides the line between sweet and savory. If you come here without ordering this, you're missing out big time. Green Salad (4/5): Nice, fresh and I needed some fiber. Nothing mind blowing, but a good change of pace. Crispy Fries (4/5): Very lightly crispy fries (reminiscent of light well for the west coasters), but the sauces are where this shines. Garlic aioli and mornay sauce (think white gravy) were rich, thick, and excellent! Key Lime Pie (4.25/5): Whipped cream on this INCREDIBLE, wish you could just order a bowl of that. I think they serve it slightly warmer than fridge temp (cool not cold) and it just melts on the tongue with really strong vanilla flavor. Pie itself is also good; nice strong tartness with the buttery and salty crust. Mille-Feuille (4.5/5): Chocolate sauce has a nice depth of flavor with the shattering crisp of the pastry. Pastry cream was a lot thicker than I expected, but super rich and delicious. Definitely a dessert to share.

The greeter was not very welcoming, and the experience got off to a rough start. I didn't realize…read morethey now take reservations. We put our name in and were told the wait would be about an hour. When I checked back after an hour, the greeter couldn't tell me how much longer it would be, only that they were trying to squeeze us in between reservations. Had we known that from the beginning, we would have chosen to eat somewhere else. When we were finally seated, we were placed outside at a table that was noticeably slanted. Even our waitress apologized for the uneven table. To make matters worse, the table was in direct sunlight, making it an uncomfortable dining experience.

Bar service can get a little backed up depending on how crowded the place is...one time I was there, the bar was so crowded that I couldn't flag down a server long enough to place a food order so, before I left, I placed my food order to go using the mobile route. Whatever, I didn't care. I'm pretty chill. Anyway, burger was still good when I walked it back to my hotel. When the place isn't slammed, service is like night and day and the place is a bit more quiet. Pop on in if you want to try some good beer, a tasty burger or other pub fare.

Everything was pretty good and I appreciate that the pretzel came with three different dipping sauces. It was super busy, even for a Saturday, but everyone was friendly and helpful. Not the most exciting or incredible meal, but a solid option.
