This company left me in a bind, cost me thousands of unnecessary dollars, and left me with an…read moreunfinished house that I will now need to hire someone else to finish because he refuses to answer my pleas to do what he promised he would do. It is going on 6 months now for a job that should have been 8-12 weeks according to him. Leo and Vadim started out very nice, responsive, and communicative. He made me feel very good about using his company and the quality I could expect from his workers. He was very confident in his abilities and what he could do for me and my property. I had concerns about his estimate price and the lack of details. In several meetings before we made a deal he assured me he would take care of every concern and keep coming back until I was satisfied. He said he would put everything in writing. I had total confidence in him. Turns out his estimate was ambiguous and open to interpretation. It lacked details and I brought it to his attention. He assured me this is the way this type of estimate is done and he would make sure everything we discussed was done. He added, he would keep coming back until I was satisfied. After the work started I stopped by a few times and noticed things his workers were doing did not seem right. Things such as demo'd materials sitting on the front lawn (killing the grass in a very large area), walls and ceilings being painted without the sheet rock repairs being made, outside wall siding and eaves being painted without the rotted wood and other defects being repaired, broken window sills that water will penetrate, windows without sealant that will let water penetrate, a new roof that has many low spots and visible water retention after it rains, exposed sub flooring where he installed new floors, it is visible where he pieced scrap wood together to make patches, the sheet rock tape is coming undone from the walls where they appear to have immediately painted over the attempted sheet rock repairs in a room that once had a huge hole in it, they used copper water pipe to install gas lines from the water heater to the washer location, I cannot feel any air coming from at least 4 of the ac vents throughout the house (this was supposed to be a new ac system), they used the 2x4 wall (less than 1.5 inches of air space) as the return air, They left construction debris all throughout the house and yard and told me I was supposed to clean it up, he promised a kitchen package including a stove, oven, and dishwasher then told me he couldn't install the dishwasher and he would give me $200 off of the price, The vent-hood/microwave combination is installed about 12 inches above the gas cook-top, the vent-hood/microwave cord runs along the wall exposed to the gas cook-top, the duct for the vent-hood directly exhausts into the attic around combustible materials, some of the cabinet doors do not open and some that do are difficult to move, the sink light is now missing and has a round plate screwed on to cover the hole, the new disposal sounds as if it will fall out of the sink at any minute, the bathroom closet door is missing but the door track is still there but just painted over, one bedroom is missing a ceiling fan he promised in the estimate and in its place is a fixture that is so loose on the ceiling it will most likely fall down at any minute and is also installed about 2 feet from center of the room, I could go on and on. I still do not have warranty paperwork for the new roof, the new a/c, the two appliances he did install, the foundation work he said he completed, or anything else I should have a written guarantee/warranty for. This review was much longer with more details and examples but I had to edit it because it was too long to post. If you use Leo or Instamax, be sure to get detailed estimates in writing, and a signed contract with a detailed timeline before you give him any money and before you get yourself into a situation where time is not on your side. He took advantage of me in those situations and he could very well take advantage of you too. If I can find a way to post the photos here I will be happy to share his work with everyone.

Not a good experience!  We hired L3 Landscape Design to scrape our backyard, install a drain…read moresystem, completely level the yard, and resod with San Augustine grass.  Once completed, the yard was not level and in addition, we had a lot of separation between the grass squares. There were many areas with noticeable low spots and indentions.  We we were told the dirt and grass needed to settle for a while, so we waited for a short period of time before contacting L3.  The owner is friendly and pleasant but not good at following up in a timely fashion, or with overseeing the crews, and ensuring that the work gets done to the clients' satisfaction.  We had to reach out to L3 several times before we could get the crew back over to attempt to correct the issues.  There seemed to be a lack of communication and clear direction with the crews. When the owner/sales came out to discuss our concerns, she was full of excuses instead of acknowledging that the entire yard was not level.  And mentioned that some of it was due to our dogs.  The crew returned and put in a very light amount of top dressing, but it did not begin to resolve the issues and the yard is still completely uneven.  There are still holes, and trenches between the grass squares, which makes it difficult to mow.  Our yard visibly looks more uneven than before L3 started their work.  The drain system seems to be working fine, but the yard does not look like a professional landscaping crew did it.  We have a very large yard, and we feel like they did not use enough grass squares to adequately and properly cover the yard. It appears that instead, they tried to make do with an insufficient amount. We spent a lot of money to have this work done, much more than anticipated, and we are very disappointed. L3 over-promised and under-delivered on our job.  Therefore, we would not recommend L3 Landscape Design for this type of work.

Fill out the online form and 3 weeks went by no response. I called again and was given apologies that my email went to junk mail - was able to schedule a onsite visit. Came for the visit ask me to provide requested information which I did. After a month and half later and numerous emails still have not receive a quote and numerous emails has been ignored. I rather for Lauren to be up front and say NO I dont want to do your project. I requested a full lawn resod new flower beds and entry way flower and a pool. I am glad I did not move forward with this company becasue i am thinking now I would have paid my retainer and monies for the project and the project would not have been completed. I am surprise of the many 5 star ratings - they must be paid ratings. The only reason why i reached out to the company because of the work they posted on their site and the ratings.

Long Post I want to share my personal experience with Home…read moreMasters. I hired them to remove carpet and stain my concrete floors. Their presentation was impressive, and Saad, in particular, was professional and won my confidence. From the start, I believed they would deliver a fantastic job. I already own another home with stained concrete floors, and those are absolutely stunning -- so my expectations were high. Unfortunately, over the next week and a half, Home Masters destroyed my dream of having beautiful stained concrete floors. What should have been an exciting transformation turned into one of the most stressful experiences I've had as a homeowner. Instead of joy, I was left agonizing over what to do next. Could I live with the floors as they were? My heart cried inside every time I looked at them. I was unable to sleep and anxiety and depression pressed in. I had just paid over $7,000, and the results were nowhere near what I had envisioned. Major issues with the project 1) The finish of the floors was not smooth. The floors felt like sandpaper. 2) The color was inconsistent throughout the house. Each room was entirely different. There were large areas in which it looked like someone accidentally "poured out" too much paint and just left it there. As a result, there were random isolated patches of dark brown/black. 3) Home Masters did not have adequate resources (human capital) to get the job done. They made a commitment that they could not fulfill. Home Masters was not able to identify subcontractors who were experts in the field to stain concrete floors. For example, one contractor showed up and started painting the floor with a paint brush. 3) The project was poorly managed and there was little to no communication with me or with the subcontractors. Crews were sometimes late, left early, and left without letting me know they were gone or what time they would return. They just walked off! 4) The project manager, George, frequently said that he was coming to look at the work but did not show up until the end of the project. However, I found the greatest offense was how the project manager talked very negatively about other employees and subcontractors. And, the crew reciprocated with their frustration with George's lack of communication with them. George spoke negatively about Saad and his lack of knowledge regarding how to sale. That was one of the first statements that came out of his mouth-I was shocked! George stated that Saad's father, the owner, was rarely pleased with Saad and considered him a common "problem."George inferred that he and Saad's father did not trust Saad's ability to properly create a quote. He was not shy about expressing how he felt about Saad's proposal (bid) for the job. However from my viewpoint, Saad was committed, authentic, and the only positive exchange I experienced. So, to me George came in as the "handler." George's intent to get more money was obvious as he tried to up-sale the contract with unrealistic costs. All of this was unsettling and totally unprofessional. Now with more context, it is no surprise that Home Masters failed to deliver a high quality product. Unfortunately, I had trusted their polished presentation and believed their promises. The lack of communication from the project manager and the lack of skill and knowledge of the subcontractors left me with high levels of stress and anxiety. I lost sleep and anguished over what to do. The work was so bad. How could I live with this? Crying, praying, and looking for a course to take. I had to hire another contractor to redo the job! I called George after sending him multiple photos of the finished product. I expressed how deeply I felt about the quality of the work. I asked for a refund. His response was, "That is not something I can offer you." I asked for a partial refund. His response was, "That is not something he could offer." George did offer to come to my home and "assess the work" and talk with me about solutions. However, at this point, I no longer had confidence in the company and its ability to properly stain concrete floors. Consequently, it would be impossible to trust another crew from Home Masters to do any more damage. Bottom Line: If you are considering stained concrete floors, please do your research carefully. I can never recommend Home Masters! Don't let a smooth presentation blind you to the importance of proven results, accountability, and transparency. My experience with Home Masters was a costly lesson, and I hope others can avoid the same disappointment.

I was very leery about hiring another contractor of any kind, due to the problems we had with one…read morein the past. However, Joe Gonzales and his team soon put all my concerns to rest. We hired Joe and his crew to fix an eyesore the last contractor left us with (refinishing our brand new front door so that it LOOKS brand new), as well as painting the exterior of our house, almost all of our first floor rooms, stripping/re painting our kitchen cabinets, and some minor drywall work. Joe's crew are all friendly, professional, and extremely efficient (they also all speak fluently in both English and Spanish). We were introduced to every person when the crew arrived, and they got quickly to work. They were very careful to cover our furniture/floors (and our cars, since they were painting the exterior as well), and taped off our counters, walls, and woodwork. Communication was top notch through the whole project -- the guys were given clear instructions from day 1, they worked smoothly as a coordinated team, and they didn't hesitate to check with us on anything and keep us updated. The entire job was done quickly and neatly, and these guys are perfectionists - they took the time to prep right (including power washing the exterior a day before painting, patching minor spots, etc), kept the work area clean, reviewed their work regularly, and were as picky as if it was their own home. The texture matches were spot-on. The quality of their work from start to finish is absolutely A1. We had zero problems. They also followed up a few days after it was done to be sure we were happy. It took a total of just one week to do the whole job - exterior of a 2-story house and detached garage, kitchen cabinets refinishing, and all the painting. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone, and we will definitely be using them again whenever we need painting done. We also really liked the fact that it is a 3-generation family business and they all clearly take pride in a job well done. Five stars all the way!

Marie took charge, and I didn't really have to give any directions other than "make it look nice for the guy we're selling it to" - and that's what they did.
