We've known for years how wonderful this place is, they've cared for several of our dogs over time, but this visit was especially meaningful and unforgettable. We brought in our 15-year-old, three-legged, amazing boy Jake after one of the scariest mornings we've ever experienced. He woke up unable to walk, unable to see, and in severe pain. He had also experienced a seizure earlier, and given his age and sudden decline, we were truly afraid this might be the day we had to say goodbye. Dr. Stinnett took the time to give Jake a thorough, thoughtful exam, ran blood work, and, most importantly, treated him with compassion, confidence, and care. She knew, even when we were unsure, that this was not Jake's time. While the exact cause of his episode wasn't fully clear, Dr. Stinnett was confident that Jake still had good life ahead of him and she was absolutely right. Just four days later, Jake was back to his normal self. Seeing him walking, seeing, and acting like our happy boy again felt nothing short of miraculous. The entire team at The Pet Wellness Center truly cares for your pets as if they were their own family. I took my senior pup to establish care at this vet since we live very close and I also wanted them to check a small mass that he has growing on his head. The doctor was very nice and recommended not doing a biopsy but to just remove the mass at the same time as a dental cleaning under anesthesia. The appointment was very quick and they did the other quick normal checks (temperature, asked about diet, etc). This appointment cost $89! That is the most I've ever paid for a check up at a vet in this state and two other states I've lived in. The doctor said they would give me a quote for the dental cleaning and the mass removal and the vet tech said he would get that to me by end the of the day or by the end of the week (this was on a Monday). Next Tuesday rolled around and I still had not heard from them so I called in the morning and they apologized and said they would send the quote. I received the quote that evening, but the quote was only for the mass removal at $1874.00 - $2332.57. I asked to know if this included the dental cleaning. It's now Thursday, almost two weeks after the initial appointment and the person responding to the email said it was only for the mass removal but that the tech could write me a quote for dental cleaning if I want. They also said they noticed a double charge on the quote so the mass removal quote is actually $1404 - $1862. I should mention that the mass is smaller than the size of a dime on a 13 pound pup. I was dumbfounded that they were asking if I wanted a dental cleaning quote as I had already discussed that with the vet and the tech that they would quote me for both. In this timeframe, I was able to get two quotes from other vets and the total quote from these other places (dental and mass removal) were cheaper than the quote for just the mass removal at The Pet Wellness Center. Needless to say, we will be going elsewhere - doing the bloodwork, dental cleaning, and mass removal at a quote of less than $1000! Updating to say I paid $513 for everything (dental cleaning, mass removal, bloodwork, pain meds, etc.) somewhere else. I highly recommend not wasting your time and money and doing the research to find somewhere else to go. The Humane Society does dental cleanings at low-cost as well as many other vets with great reviews in the valley. read more

We have taken our Golden Retriever to see Dr Lane Smith for the last two years. We are snow birds so we take our dog to Dr Smith during the winter months. We absolutely love Dr Lane Smith and Justin (technician). They are down-to-earth and don't try to get you to do tests and procedures unless they are needed. Dr Smith also has Golden Retrievers so he is personally and professionally knowledgeable about the breed. The gal at the front desk was also helpful and friendly. Dr. Smith did an amazing job with our pup's first ever dental cleaning. We adopted her as an older dog, and because of some heart issues we have been terrified to bring her in. Dr. Smith made this emotionally painless for us by answering all of the questions we had (there were a lot) and seemingly physically painless for our pup, she hasn't shown any signs of pain or any issues and even with having a tooth extracted she's doing great! read more

They are the best by far, anywhere else I've ever been to. Why? They are really nice (everyone who works there). You can see their hearts are truly in it (everyone who works there), and have gone above and beyond every time I needed help with something - including helping me with a dog I found outside of Fry's at 9pm wandering around the entrance. i couldn't keep the dog because my dog wasn't meshing well with him, but they said one of their vet techs fell in love with the dog and was willing to keep him if they couldn't locate the owners. Guess what? Even though the dog bad no chip and no identifying tag, they were able to use NexDoor and whatever else they knew to do to locate his owners! I took my dog their for shots in order to get boarding and they saw my dog is super attached to me and didn't want to go into another room without me, so they administered them in the same room we began with me sitting there. Every vet, and quite honestly, every business should replicate their level of kindness and customer service, because it's a lost art, but highly appreciated! I really do not like to write reviews and post stuff in public, but this is a sincere effort to help them (not that they need any). Oh, they also use the old school vaccines which aren't great, but much better than the mrna stuff - which is very bad. If you love your pet, I'd take him/her here without hesitation! We are very happy taking our two small dogs (Havanese and Havanese mix) to this practice. They are as patient with our somewhat cranky elderly dog as they are with our jumpy young puppy. UPDATE: The owner called me back with a horrible attitude stating that the stitches were "absorbable" and argued the whole time. I provided proof that I had been ignored and she said "surely she would have to look into that" and of course never got back to me. This has been an interesting history of visits, dealing with a pet that is aging rapidly. From an energetic Staffordshire Terrier at 14 years of age (85 according to AKC dog years for this breed) to a much less energetic,in pain from arthritis, now diagnosed Cushing's Syndrome pet. Dr Ruhl and Staff; compassionate, informative, conservative, thorough, excellent communicators. That's needed as one goes down the path of caring for a dear friend of a pet. We feel comforted in knowing our pet is in good hands in his last years. Additionally: We had to have our dear friend put to sleep. It's a process both difficult and challenging. The staff made the experience bearable, losing a pet of 13 years is never easy. The professionalism is superb. We highly recommend this wellness center! The staff were teary eyed. That says a lot. I'm new to the pet Wellness Center and I am so happy to have found them! My cat started not feeling well and being new in the area I didn't know who to trust. I called pet Wellness Center because it was right next to me where I live and not only are they knowledgeable and compassionate towards my Sassy-Cat, they didn't rush me. My pets have never had an illness so all of these tests and procedures are new to me. Dr. Hohorst is SO patient and kind. I normally would take my pets to the vet but my husband has had to because I'm high risk for Covid, Dr. Hohorst allowed him to call me and include me in on the exam so I could ask questions and hear the details. My cat was terrified but they were so gentle with her and kind. I feel very comfortable in their care. Our pets are like our children and when they hurt we hurt and the doctor and staff definitely extend that to you. The techs wrapped her in a towel to carry her, they were gentle, and patient. My husband said they were so gentle with her. Dr. Hohorst called me at home, to follow up on our first visit, she called me with test results, she took her time explaining the details, and allowed me the time to wrap my head around what was happening. Again, being new to having pet health issues and literally knowing nothing, they're definitely patient and I'm someone who asks a lot of questions. They handle it very well. Love this vet! Staff here is wonderful and very willing to help. I got a puppy last year who has unfortunately gotten himself into some trouble (ripping sutures, eating things he isn't supposed to etc). They are always there to help and give advice over the phone if necessary. Their fees are also significantly lower than other vets in the area and they have never charged me for needing help the same day. In 2022, it feels more common to have bad experiences than good ones. It's such a relief to have confidence and know that things are going to be taken care of. read more

I needed a vet for my rescue cat and did an internet search and came across The Pet Wellness Center. I couldn't be happier with the treatment my cat and I received. I was promptly greeted and shown to an exam room. Shortly after Mark, the Vet Tech came in and collected the information on my cat and very gently took her out of her carrier and set her down so she could check out the surroundings. Mark was very knowledgeable about cats which put my mind at ease. Dr Cheryl (Rahal) did a very thorough exam and gave me some hints about caring for my cat. She took her time with the exam and I never felt rushed. Dr Cheryl and Mark were kind enough to clip my cat's claws. The staff ialso called after the appointment to check on how my cat was doing. ZERO stars. Worst customer service ever! I gave these guys 5 years and it has been 5 too many! The last straw was dropping off a fecal sample on a Wednesday and never receiving a call with the results. Turns out they got the results Thursday and just never bothered to call me. I had to call them Monday afternoon! No sincere apology, just excuses of how the vets are just so booked up. Clearly they don't care about the welfare of their patients, only getting fully booked to make that money. What if my dog needed medical attention?!! I called to schedule an appointment to get my two rabbits fixed/neutered. I was told that they took rabbits, so I booked an appointment. I told them over the phone that was the intention of me bringing my rabbits in. Went to the appointment, they did a wellness checkup on both, then proceed to tell me that they couldn't neuter/spay rabbits at their facility because they didn't have a protocol in place. I spent $160 for 20 min, and to be told they couldn't provide the service I came in for. I left my number to talk to a manager, called 3 different times trying to get in touch with them. They never called me back. Apparently they thought a $35 refund was acceptable enough. So disappointed in this vet facility and customer service. I will would never recommend this place to friends or family with so many other great, professional vet clinics available. A phone call from the manger and an acceptable refund/discount could have made this problem right. read more

The ladies working there were very kind and showed genuine compassion for my poor pup who has been suffering from allergies and possible few other things! As we all know the Vet can be expensive and they did not make me feel judged or like a bad owner for my inability to pay for all my dogs medications ! Instead they talked with me and helped me to figure out something more affordable that cared for my dogs needs. My dog is still a little itchy (granted we just went in yesterday-nothing works over night), but he is no longer as miserable as he was when we first went in! read more

This clinic is awesome!! We just moved into the area and our Golden developed a hematoma in his ear and was suffering from allergies. I called and they put us in the schedule that same morning. Dr. Fowler was very sweet. She drained his ear and put a compression bandage on it rather than try to tell me he needed surgery. As for his allergy issue, she was very conservative in how to treat rather than going straight for the expensive veterinary drugs. This clinic really cares about your pet's wellbeing, not about how much money they can make. Also, they did not push me to do any vaccines or regular tests for heartworm as they didn't have his current medical records and did not want to charge me for something that may still be current. They have done really well so far with my two dogs. Unlike Banfield, they aren't scared of my dog who gets aggressive when she goes to the vet, because what dog likes to go to the vet... instead of leaving her in the kennel when she gets mad and aggressive, they just let her out so she was free to walk around which makes her happy and not aggressive. It's a little more expensive, but it's worth having a vet who isn't scared of the animals they're going to take care of! read more

I have been taking my Pug here for a little over a year and have been very happy with them and his care. Today I took my other dog here who is Sheppard / Golden mix who gets nervous when he sees people and barks but at 75 lbs it's a loud bark but is the kindness dog ever like a Golden. He needed to get an allergy shot to help give him some relief from his seasonal allergies and meet this vet for the first time. I couldn't be more PLEASED with the level of care. The ladies up front were more than welcoming coming to say hello to my dog so he felt comfortable and safe. Once in the room the care for him just got better with the tech really welcoming my dog and again making him feel secure and safe. I was stressed brining him to the vet after my last experience at an emergency vet where they wouldn't even pet my dog or try to help calm him but after today I feel so much better thanks to everyone here at The Pet Wellness Center and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for the proper care for you animals. read more
