Our flight was canceled at Heathrow Airport. We stayed at a hotel nearby. While there, we walked about .4 mile to the Pheasant Inn for a late lunch. My wife ordered the Gammon steak with chips (steak fries) and peas. The Gammon steak came with two large slices of fried pineapple. My wife loved the meal. I had the Baby back ribs meal with fries and coleslaw. The portion of ribs and fries was huge and I could not eat it all. The ribs were fantastic, and as good as any ribs I have eaten in USA. I also had a delicious pint of Doom Bar Amber Ale. The pub/restaurant is a large converted home in a neighborhood. The staff were very nice and attentive. The bartender gave me samples before I chose my pint of Doom Bar. I highly recommend you get a meal and a pint at the Pheasant Inn. read more

This is clearly a popular establishment so would recommend reservations if at all possible. However, we simply happened to wander by and were lucky enough to be seated right away. I came here for dinner and had an amazing experience! This is a charming pub that is very close to the airport and to other hotels. It is spacious, clean, and cozy. It was very busy when we got there and we did not have a reservation, but they accommodated us fairly quickly and we were sat at a nice table in the restaurant. The staff is so friendly and fast. They have a very impressive selection of items on their menu and everything I had was absolutely fantastic. We started with the baked whole camembert with toasted ciabatta and cranberry dip. This was delicious! The cheese was baked perfectly and the bread was toasted perfectly. The cheese paired so well with the cranberry dip. For dinner, I had the shepherds pie with roasted zucchini, broccoli, and carrots. This sherpherds pie was so delightful! It was smooth, savory, and creamy all at the same time. There was a generous portion of lamb in the shepherds pie as well. The prices are fair and the food is completely worth it! Wow!!! We got stuck in Heathrow because of high winds delaying our flight so we missed our connecting one. We took a taxi to our hotel which British paid for and he told us about this amazing pub! It was so delicious. The pub dates to 1964 and the ceilings are super low so that's cool. The food was amazing! We started with calamari, which was tasty. Then we ordered the pistachio and horseradish crusted cod with creamed spinach and potatoes. Perfection!!! Also ordered the Grilled Seabass, it was excellent as well. Nice selection of alcohol and of course a perfect Guinness! So tasty and we will be back if ever in London again. read more

OMG!!!! This place has 10 million items on its menu literally and if you're able to make 10 million items nightly I'm pretty sure 90% of them are going to taste worst than anything on the dinner menu at McDonald's. Long story short I ordered fish and chips and both required tons of salt to barely be tolerable. I'm not someone to add salt to my food. The only logical reason for their popularity is the alcohol is so good it doesn't much matter what the food taste like. The restaurant was packed with tons of people drinking large quantities of alcohol and just using the horrible food to soak up the alcohol to be able to drink more. Definitely not a fan. Wow! This place is a reason to visit England in itself! I popped in after reading about it on Yelp and boy am I glad I did! I walked up on it in what appeared to be a local neighborhood. In the door things get busy quickly yet the signs give directions on how it all works. 1. Get a menu. 2. Walk up back to a counter to place your order. 3. Pay and get a spoon. 4. Place spoon on your table (pick one yourself). 5. Go to the bar for a beer. 6. Enjoy and repeat step 5 then 6 (often). This place was authentic and quite amazing. Whatever they are doing I hope it never changes as I want this exact moment every time I visit near Heathrow! For anyone that cares what I ordered... The Pheasant Restaurant is actually two related restaurants. The Restaurant has table service inside. The Inn is more casual. Outside seating, first come first served. It even has an outdoor smoking area. If you want to eat outside come early because it gets crowded outside. It is the only restaurant I could find that wasn't in one of the Heathrow hotels. The food was disappointing. I had stroganoff with a different sauce. It was skimpy on the beef and so so taste. My husband had the fish and chips which was a huge portion and very good. They also make really good White Russians but they'll set you back $10. It sounds much less in pounds. read more

A great restaurant near London Heathrow Airport. Turns into a club on Friday and Saturday nights. Sometimes can be very crowded especially on the weekends. Portions are huge. I haven't had a bad thing here and I have been here over 100 times. My favorites are fish and chips and bbq chicken wings. The tiramisu used to be the bomb but they stopped serving it. I always enjoy coming here having been a customer since 1997. Have tried many dishes from the menu and have never had a bad meal. The service is also friendly. Best dishes in my opinion are the homemade pies or the Christmas dinner, others who have come with me like the fish and chips the best. Portions are enormous and it is a struggle to finish main course so my standard line to anyone I take here for the first time is "please don't think I'm being mean, I'm happy to buy you a starter if you can finish your main course". Apart from one or two people who finished their main course but were absolutely stuffed, nobody manages to finish main course as portions are enormous. Prices are not cheap but given the quantity and quality I cannot moan either. Personally I always prefer eating in the restaurant though its more expensive with the service charge, others may prefer the informal atmosphere of eating in the bar area. Always make a reservation in advance and if fully booked then try again later in the day as they may have had a cancellation. read more

This place is located by Marriott Residence Inn hotel that is located by London Heathrow. The place has a full service dining area; a pub with casual sitting patio with seating table and a full bar. It is mainly known for its Fish and chips. If you are sitting in the pub area, you have to order your food and drink separately and they bring the food to your table but you carry the drink from the bar to your table. The Fish and Chips batter was outstanding, the fries were OK and the hot dog at this place was very spicy and juicy; I have not had anything similar to that in USA. If you are staying in one of the hotels by London Heathrow for overnight stay to USA and don't feel paying $100 to city center for dinner, this is a great dining option. read more

Wow, worth a 15 minute walk from the Rennaissance! There is every sort of seating here from in and out, covered pub to picnic tables. The full service restaurant is in the back! I found this out while standing in the long line to place an order for food. We would have certainly waited ages to eat placing the order at the bar. In the restaurant we were seated and had drinks on the table in minutes and dinner on the way! The pies are enormous and home made! Lamb offered 3 ways the rack was delicious. DO NOT miss dessert the Banofee dessert nearly made me tear up! Amazing attentive and friendly service. read more

Came here with a colleague who talked all week about it before our flight home the last day. It definitely lived up to her praise. The place was busy and lively, though we easily grabbed a spot to spend the evening. Lots of different beer on tap which I appreciate, and you have to order food at the food counter (not the bar). Food comes out relatively quick and massive in portion size - a common comment in reviews. Overall, a pretty solid experience. Wow! I am so glad that a friend of mine told me about this place. This was hands down the best meal that I had in England. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Lots of beers to choose from. Don't worry about the line to order, it is so worth the wait! Just get a pint and study the menu as there are so many delicious options to choose from. We are staying at the Radisson Blu Hotel and this pub was close so we decided to try it out. It's literally down the street. We were greeted by security at the door. He was super nice showed us where to sit and asked if we been there before. They don't provide table service so we order our own drinks at the bar and paid. We also ordered our food at a different counter and paid. They give you a wooden spoon with your number, so the server knows where the customers are sitting. They were having a New Years Party for 10 pound. The food was good and the restaurant looked clean and well maintained. The drinks were average price as well as the food. Overall we enjoyed it and most likely will return we are in London for 5 days. read more

Was only in London for the night due to a layover after my trip to Greece with my Aunt. We didn't have enough time to go into the city and decided to stay at a hotel near the airport. We asked the workers at the front desk of our hotel if there was any good places to eat in walking distance and he recommended the Pheasant restaurant. I was happy because I wanted to have an English Pub experience during my short stay. The place is big and there's several different rooms as well as outdoor seating. You order drinks at the bar and go to a different counter near the back to order food and they bring it to you when it's ready. It wasn't extremely busy when we got there (around 7) but by the time we were leaving it was packed with people who seemed to be mostly just drinking. We started with some beers. They have a variety of English beers on tap to choose from. For our food we started with the herb crusted mushrooms which were delicious! For our main course I got the chicken and mushroom pie and my aunt got the fish and chips. My aunt had gone up to order and said the line was very long to order, but our food came out pretty quick. Both of our meals were so good and the portions were huge! Neither of us were able to eat even half of our meal. I recommend coming here if you're in the area or staying near the airport because it's close by (walking distance from the Marriott) and a great authentic pub experience read more

Came here for dinner with lovey as we were starving. Only a few miles from Hilton Heathrow, this place is quaint but lively inside. Popular amongst the locals. Next to it is an inn , a dine in restaurant and a pub. The pub is always busy and seat wherever. You sit wherever and order then line up to pay after. There were not tables in the pub so we sat in the resto. Same price of food with gratuity added already in the resto. Very good fish and chips. Their batter had some curry taste to it. Lovey ordered the vegetable soup and Greek salad. All were tasty. Server was fast and helpful. The resting was decorated with lovely Christmas decorations and upside down Christmas tree. This restaurant was everything I was hoping to find during my first visit to the UK. It's located close to the LHR airport so I took a cab. The place is decorated in dark wood and has a fireplace. Just the perfect cozy environment I wanted to find on a cold, rainy winter night. You have to order the beer at the bar and the food at the counter in the back. I looked at the menu for a bit because they offered all of the traditional fare that I wanted to try but unfortunately only could chose one. I asked the gentleman at the counter for advice and settled on the chicken pot pie. The pot pie has officially spoiled all other pot pies for me for the rest of my life. The pot pie is stuffed inside a huge pastry shell that is perfectly golden and flaky. It was insane!! I couldn't stop eating! This restaurant satiated my craving for authentic English Pub food. I would definitely recommend. It's nothing fancy but it's very comfortable and a good place to get warm and fill your belly. read more

Holy Moses! I came here on a whim. Ordered the Steak and Ale pie. I saw Jesus. Seriously. My friend ordered the Shepard's Pie, I ordered the steak and ale pie...both were out of this world! The pie crust was so flakey, I could not stop eating it! The insides of this pie were perfectly cooked, the gravy which accompanied it was so perfect, it called out to my chips...."come here....take a swim in my gravy boat!" The Pheasant is nestled at the end of a small street and looks absolutely idyllic. It was one of the best meals in Heathrow. read more

I ordered the liver with onions, which came with ham (err, bacon), mixed vegetables, a heap of mashed potatoes, and a ladle of roux. It arrived piping hot, cooked as desired, and full of flavor. The liver was not tough or overlooked at "medium." The portion size was nothing short of generous, and I could have easily shared the plate, making the pricing seem quite reasonable. There was a little too much fat left on the lamb for my liking, but it did leave the lamb incredibly juicy. This place got fantastic reviews and we were excited to come by and try it out. We walked in and had to figure out, that the line to order food, was in the back by the kitchen... yes. no one will come to your table, if you got one, and take your order. You need to go to the back of the bar and wait on this very long line, just to place your order.. it was about 30-45 minutes and then someone will find you based on your table number.. It was a very big hassle, especially if one of your friends has to stay behind to hold your table! When we got the food, it was OK, and not great.. Then one of my colleagues wanted to order dessert... another 45 minute wait!! That is crazy Then one of us discovered that behind that long line, if you go out back and then back in... they actually have a regular sit down restaurant. Yes. They have a regular sit down restaurant that is always booked solid. I spoke with the owner and told him, that there is no way to know about the restaurant in the back, if you simply come in from the front. I would have wanted to try the full service. Perhaps next time, if I stay in Heathrow. read more

If you are American, think about going to this establishment. We walked in and to the bar for a drink. The bartenders only noticed the neighborhood and local folks. And after moving from side to two different sides of the bar and prob a good 10 minutes with them not in anyway too busy to help us ....we eventually said something. In response the bartender said I went over to you...... "no you didn't ". We walked over a mile to see this so called great bar. Maybe if you know someone(I guess). Take your business to the hotels who actually greet and acknowledge you. Or a smaller pub who could use the business. Not to mention we actually tip , frowned upon or not .... Their loss !!!!
