Online looked SO good and we made a trip from Heathrow to go there. We were so disappointed. All I wanted was sticky toffee pudding. It was one of the worst I have ever tasted. It was dry, light colored as though they hadn't used enough dates, and the sauce seemed like it was out of a plastic bottle. The service was SO slow. They got our bar orders wrong between the host and the bar (he was helping out as I gather there were not enough wait staff?). The Shepherds pie though, was really good and that is why I'm ranking better than a one star. DO NOT go for the pudding. read more

A Hidden Treasure. This lovely restaurant was a 5-minute walk from the Marriott London Heathrow. There are two sections, restaurant and inn. The restaurant provides full service but you will likely need a reservation. The inn is casual, we just walked up and we're warmly welcomed. The staff is warm, friendly, and efficient. The food is fabulous and you can order from the restaurant menu, if you like. Generous portions, good food, and a happy vibe. I was staying at the Renaissance Hotel for three nights on Bath Road. When we first arrived in London, we were told to avoid any touristy places for meals, and after eating one night here, we found our perfect go to. All three nights my boyfriend and I decided to dine at The Pheasant Inn: the food was reliable, amazing, and within walking distance (~5-10 mins). We ordered over the course of three nights Shepard's pie, Steak and Ale Pie, fish & chips, and Christmas pudding. Everything was delicious. After long days walking around London, my boyfriend and I were starving and managed to finish two plates between us (sharing of course, too good to keep to yourself!) The flavors, textures and portions were perfect. If I ever visit London again, I'll be sure to stop by. As a side note, we are in the inn. Service includes paying at a counter before receiving your food. They give a cute spoon with a number on it to leave at your table so your food can be delivered when it's ready. Head over to the bar to order and pay for your drinks separately. Bartenders were so kind--they let my boyfriend sample (for free!) all of the English brewed beers they carried. read more

LOVE LOVE This PLACE. Have been a few times when staying at the nearby hotels at LHR. Couldn't wait to have dinner when we were overnighting before our flight back to the US. Took an Uber from hotel but easily walk-able from Marriott, Holiday Inn, Renaissance, Sheraton, etc. There are two sides, the Inn and the Restaurant. The Inn is more like a pub. However, you need to be 18+ (if traveling with youngsters) otherwise you will dine in the outdoor tent which is nice, too. Enjoyed the cod and chips, burger and half roasted chicken which was outstanding. Finished off with the banoffee pie. The last time I was here a few months ago I also had the leek soup which was excellent. Generous portions. Good value. Friendly staff. Order food at counter window then step to bar to order drinks. Your wooden spoon with a number on it is all they need to find you in the pub. Can't wait to return. read more

Meals are very filling and delicious. Brits not known for their traditional foods but this place does justice. Service is good, place is packed on weekends. Bustling and serving up good beers, ciders and cocktails. Allergy alert menus help to navigate my fellow allergy-ridden people. This was a huge help. I took to the Suffolk cider this trip, and ordered a bun less egg burger. My friends had some delicious entrees as well. See my pics for reference! Drinks are good and has a heated outdoor area. Weekends they usually have a DJ and the single people come out. The shepherds pie is really good there. Also has a closed off outdoor tent area which is heated during the winter. read more

From all of the reviews, the Pheasant Inn sounds like a traveler's favorite. However, when I stopped by on a Friday night, everyone there seemed shocked to see someone from outside of the neighborhood (or neighbourhood) there. First, the warnings: no food after 10, and the combination of low ceilings, a winding layout, and a packed pub area means that it feels hot and crowded inside, even on a cool night. However, the packed house meant that there were more people than expected and more fun than anyone deserves to have on a long layover at LHR. They had a DJ and a small dance floor, and it is the kind of place where everyone goes to have some fun and take advantage of the low prices. There was a wide mix of patrons and it was easy to pick up some interesting conversations and quick travel friends. There are a lot of airport hotel zones around the world where pilots flight crews, and business people on short layovers are common sights, and very few have a cool place within walking distance like this one. If you are staying at the Heathrow Marriott and only have a few hours, walk a few blocks over and spend some time here. read more

The chicken mushroom pie was out of this world and it was big enough for two people to share. The curly fries are cooked to perfection! Great spot to grab a bite to eat. ....stuck in Heathrow for few hours? Forget about ONeills, Starbucks, Costa and Chef Gerard... Get a real taste of England just by the airport itself... This is a real gem in Heathrow area, nice pub, nice food, affordable prices and as english as it gets... I have had many people asking me for something interesting to do during a 4 hours lay over at the airport, and the truth is that everything nice out of LHR is quite far away... I wished I had known this place long time back. I went there to celebrate a colleagues leaving due and everybody had a fantastic time. The food was excellent and affordable (I tried the heavenly sausage and mash), the place is spacious and if the weather is nice they even have a terrace where you can dine al fresco. Getting from Heathrow airport is fairly easy: take the 111 bus from the Central bus station (free ride from LHR to Bath Road), stop by the Radisson Edwardian Hotel, turn left into New Road and you will find the Pheasant at the far end of the road. 5min ride on the bus, 5min walk from Bath Rd. Great Food and good beer. As most people may know there aren't many dining options when staying over near LHR. Most of the options on Bath Rd are limited to hotel restaurants and McDonalds. The Pheasant is a little off of Bath road but well within walking distance from most hotels. It's honestly the only decent eating option around. It is a happy mix of locals and transits. The locals in the pub were very welcoming and talkative on each of our visit. So far I have dined here 2x and have yet to be disappointed. They have a great selection of British beer and Euro to include Speckled Hen, London Pride, Kronenbourg, Stella, Guinness and Peroni. Trust me you will want to try them all.. I am not a fan of Guinness or Stella in the US but I love it on tap here in the UK. The food has a great home cooked feel and flavor. On the first night me and my buddy shared the double lamb shank and a Bleu T-Bone steak. Both were phenomenal! I thought I liked rare steak but a Bleu steak took it to a whole new level. On the second visit I tried the Beff Wellington. WOW! the crust was light and flaky and the beef still had a nice pink center. While this was my first wellington experience it sure will be hard to top. The food price point is a little high for my taste 19 GBP for a decent meal however the beer was very cheap 6-7 GBP for a round of 2. This is my suggestion to enjoy for your overnight meal when you are staying in the LHR area. read more

Never mind that it's in the back of some local residence, it's actually quite close to the main road if you are walking around town. We were glad we ventured out to try this gem of a pub. The bar might smell like old fermenting beer but people are drunk and happy. The food though... my goodness, the dishes served went against all bad British food jokes. The pork shoulder was huge and excellent for those looking to fill their full day's worth of calories. Fish & chips was probably the least exciting thing since it was a little soggy. I found this place once after my long flight arrived at Heathrow. It is fairly easy to get to by bus (H98 from bath road) or take a taxi if you're not driving which would be a 5-8 minutes journey. There is the option to sit inside or outside in the transparent marquee. I prefer outside for the fresh air. Once you're ready to order, after flipping through pages of delicious food, you'll have to order at the bar and they will bring the food out to your table. Be careful not to order so much as their portions are quite massive! True British Pub food in American sizes ! I would recommend this place if you're in a group, hungover or even want some authentic English food as their prices are quite reasonable too! read more

Beautiful British affair with a bit of a twist! No need to worry about service. You go to the counter and order your food, get a numbered wooden spoon so they know where to find you, go to the bar get your drinks, find a seat! They have a daily menu with a pretty large variety. The grilled, spicy sea bass was fresh on a bed of sautéed vegetables along with roasted baby potatoes, which was absolutely delicious! Great food and a good collection of brews. The building itself is very interesting, with unique roof lines which have render a loft like feel inside. There is a pub as you enter on the right, which seems to be more popular. During summers, this section has an outdoor seating area of you don't mind ordering food and drinks at the bar and taking it outside. The sea food is fresh and the portions magnanimous. The cod and sea bass are my favorites. I've never been able to finish my plate here. read more

Stopped in here after work one evening and ate at the resuatrant (they also have a pub which is more cafeteria style, but I understand it's the same food). Was with a group and we all shared -- my favorite dishes at the table were the shepherd's pie and the cumberland sausage and mash. Inside the building was very cool, kind of had the feeling of a ski lodge. I'm from the US and I came to relize that service in the UK is a bit on the slow side comparitvely, but it seemed about normal by my adjusted UK standards. I also got a beer, London Pride, which didn't amaze me, but probably just my personal preference there. Definitely recommend checking out the food, this was one of my favorite food stops I made druing my weeklong stint in London. read more

What a diamond this little restaurant is located within walking distance of the Heathrow airport hotels such as the Marriott. It's located in a residential area and has a pub out front and is not impressive looking but once you get inside and sample the food - Voila! I had the braised shortribs - the flavor and the portians were outstanding as was the old hen Ale. All three of us were extremely impressed. If you're ever staying at a hotel close to Heathrow, you won;t want to miss this place. Seen most of Europe, grew up in the Caribbean, and have traveled through the Caribbean as well as Peru extensively. As a foodie, I feel that the culinary experience is vital in any travel experience. In my 43 years of living, I've never traveled somewhere and settled on one restaurant! The Pheasant Inn restaurant takes this honor. My family and I traveled to London for one week in August 2018. Once we went to the Pheasant Inn restaurant, we were sold on the quality of its food and I took the culinary piece right out of the trip. I just didn't feel the need to look beyond this restaurant. All aspects of the food were right on. In seven days, we went there four times. The other days we were outside of London and ate locally. If you're in the area, don't pass up the opportunity to eat here. The lamb shank was amazing. The bbq ribs were better than most I've tried in the U.S.A. (where I live). Ah the Pheasant, you left a bad impression. I arrived in London with a 13 hour layover and had only two goals. A decent night's sleep, and a meal in a typical pub. By the time I walked in here, it was just past 1030, and they informed me they were no longer serving food (though the waiter literally walked by with a tray of food) and that I could try McDonalds up the road. Seriously. Since I was there, I decided to stay and have a pint. To my surprise, there was not a single British brew on offer, but only Stella, Moretti, and a few other euro-brands. So I found a pub with no food, and no British beer. Great. Staff were pleasant but if I had seen a weary traveller with suitcase in hand, I'd have offered him something more than Mcdonalds or a bag of crisps. There is always a queue for food in the evening because it is busy, but the food is worth waiting for and the service excellent! Clearly massively popular, I got there about four and left five and a half hours later. Just had the most lovely Sunday beef roast for dinner. First off, it was enormous! I hadn't eaten all day, having taken a redeye from Washington, DC to London, checked in, showered, napped, and stumbled down the lane from the Marriott for supper. I was so hungry, I was dizzy, and by the time I tucked in to my plate, I thought I could have eaten the entire cow. But the portion size defeated me! I wound up leaving several ounces of meat on my plate, plus the (IMHO, hated) parsnips as well as some potatoes. I was NOT going to leave a scrap of the Yorkshire pudding though! It was perfect! Crisp, not greasy, and enormous. It was the perfect complement to the beef and gravy. I'll also note that the plate itself was warmed so that the meal stayed hot throughout. It was really perfect. The bartender was also quite sweet. I'm used to pubs where you order the food and drink from the bar, but this place has a bar and separate food counter. He came out from behind the bar and took me around to the food counter and explained the system here to me in my jetlagged state. Truly hospitable and kind. I plan on coming back here to try the fish and chips or one of the pies during my week long stay here in London. Can't wait! read more

I get it. This place is great. This portions are HUGE. I checked the reviews beforehand but I didn't realize how much the pics don't do the serving sizes justice. Seriously, my husband and I are 2 chubby American foodies and we could have shared just my plate. We ordered Steak and Ale Pie, the Sunday Roast (mixed beef and lamb) with Yorkshire Pudding, and Sticky Toffee Pudding (honestly I just wanted a table full of English classics). So good! Oh yea, we got there at about 10:20pm on a Sunday. It closes at 12 but the kitchen was closing when we got there so we had to order quickly. I saw another post on this so I rushed the hubby to get there sooner and sure enough they warned us that we only had about 5 min to order.
