Overall, I had a very nice experience at the spa. The facility is beautiful, clean, and well maintained, and every staff member I encountered was friendly, professional, and attentive. The highlight of my visit was the massage. My therapist was phenomenal, she listened to my concerns, focused on the areas I needed most, and made me feel completely relaxed. I also appreciated the adjustable massage table, which made a huge difference since I have lower back pain. It was one of the most comfortable massage experiences I've had. I also enjoyed the complimentary champagne, delicious food, and excellent service at the rooftop pool. The attendants were incredibly attentive, and the drinks were very good. My only minor complaint about the rooftop pool is that it doesn't really have a view. My biggest disappointment was the sauna and steam room. Neither one got hot enough to be enjoyable. I spent over 30 minutes in the steam room without even getting warm or breaking a sweat, and the sauna wasn't much better. For a luxury spa, I expected these amenities to perform much better. This used to be our go-to spa -- until today. We had two pedicures and a spa day which has been our tradition every yr , we come here for spa days and treatments on our birthdays... So today we booked it as part of a birthday and Mother's Day weekend celebration. When our technician called out, staff member Madison called us at 9:02 AM and offered to upgrade my pedicure into a massage at no extra charge since our technician called in sick. I told her my husband won't go to the pedicure alone and asked how much do we need to pay for him if we also upgrade his service into a massage? Madison proceeded to place me on hold and came back and said don't worry about the upgrade for Mr. Fish and I got immediately excited and so happy and thanked her , told her will be there by 10 AM.. Upon arrival, we were handed a bill for $635 a Kimberly checked us in. I said I spoke to a Madison and she was next to her and confirmed to Kimberly at the front that our price was $240 total based on our earlier conversation She even told me Kimberly that we are getting upgraded to 2 Artisan massages. We went ahead with our massages trusting it was resolved. We had the best time and enjoyed as normal and ended up leaving around 4PM. At checkout, my husband went downstairs and Madison is now presenting him with the $635 bill!!! Of course like anyone in his position he would be shocked! Like what?!!!! He felt like he was having an out of body experience!! Madison's explanation, and I quote " I misspoke"claimed she misspoke and gave my husband the $635 bill telling my husband that her manager Jed told her while we were getting our massages that what she was told by her manager Jed that they can longer provide what was promised to me on the phone and at checkout. This was going while I was still upstairs, and saw my husband upset. I asked what's going on and he said don't worry about it I will handle this, he said it's your birthday and I am not letting them spoil your day . When confronted, Madison denied ever offering the upgrade in front of her manager when my husband said that's what she said. My husband did not even want me in this conversation because it was birthday/Mother's Day weekend and he did not want to spoil my day.. . What was meant to be a special weekend turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience. We loved the massages but left feeling disappointed by Madison. I have to say Madison has been so pleasant and super friendly every time we were there, to get this treatment from her, this really hurt me especially on my day and so unexpected. The manager Jed in my opinion did not handle this right. He should have asked Kimberly listened to the call that was made. I don't know but this was handled very poorly in my opinion. Madison had so many chances to make this right but chose not to. What was offered in good faith was taken back without accountability. We hope management reviews the 9:02 AM call recording, because that will tell the whole story or even speak to Kimberly that Madison corrected when we checked in. This is making me feel like I can't trust this company. Moving forward I want to record conversations or make sure I have proof or something because their word is not to be trusted. This leaves my amazing birthday/Mother's Day weekend ending in a bad note because of this. read more

I had the loveliest, most relaxing experience at the Phonecian spa! For starters, the staff is so sweet and attentive. They answered all of my questions at check-in and my masseuse was so attentive (but not chatty!). My favorite was the quiet room. I could basically have stayed there all day munching on the free snacks and sipping spa water. You get all day access to the spa so I left to do some shopping and then came back for a swim! They lose a couple of points for the price. While my massage and the facilities were great, the price point was a bit higher than other 5-star resorts I've visited. And as others have mentioned, gratuity is automatically included. Also, the dining/pool area was a bit understaffed so it was difficult for the waitress to attend to everyone. The outdoor pool needs more than 1 person for ordering food/drinks (she was great and handling it well) The food and drinks at the pool were great. Food was fresh and tasty. I tried a quinoa chickpea bowl with olives and onions added. We also tried the whipped feta with veggies. The pita bread came out warm and fluffy. The amenities are on par with similar spas in the area. The quiet room is my favorite- allowed for ultimate relaxation after my massage. I enjoyed the tea and snacks as well. My massage was wonderful. I explained some precautions and the level of intensity I wanted and she knocked it out of the park. This is the best spa in the valley. From the check in greeting to the quality, cleanliness, and aura of the amenities it is fabulous. Everything is so elevated and clean. The showers make you feel brand new and the rooftop pool is secluded and peaceful. I got the shrimp kabobs at the rooftop and it was so incredible I booked another service to come back the next day! My only add is that the services themselves could use improvement. I had a massage yesterday where my therapist spent 7 min of my 50 min explaining to me the massage and talking to me rather than providing me with my service. While I very directly asked for deep tissue, she refused saying that is not what I needed. I tried several times to politely redirect Ms.Annette ( my masseuse) and express that that is what I would like, but ultimately I felt uncomfortable and unable to advocate for myself in this vulnerable space. She took it upon herself to do what she thought I needed rather than what I asked for and expressed I wanted. This was frustrating. My nail tech for my pedicure, Nora, also started 6 min late for my pedicure despite no one else being in the salon. This normally would be no issue for me ( I am at a spa after all!) but it is frustrating that the scheduled end of the service is not adjusted to align with the providers tardiness. The receptionist who welcomed us was very polite and professional when she checked us in & confirmed our appts. My husband & I were escorted in different directions by our spa hosts to our perspective spa areas. The amenities and products offered are the standard run of the mill spa quality. SPF 30 sunscreen, body lotion, hair spray, spray deodorant, shaving cream, razors, mouthwash, toothbrush & toothpaste upon request, disposable hair brush, blow dryer's & curling irons, shampoo, conditioner & body wash. Snacks included chocolate covered cherries & coconut in addition to trail mix. I would have preferred fresh fruit myself. Cucumber or coconut flavored water and hot tea were available throughout the spa as well. There were 2 coed areas to relax with your spouse if you wanted to before or after your massage. Hot sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and private roof top pool were available as well. There's a private Techno Gym available to spa guests only. Not a soul was there when I went in to check it out. Seems kind of a waste since the hotel gym offers a huge variety of machines and equipment. The spa attendants were attentive and very kind which helped make the experience very enjoyable. The lounge chairs are worn out as are the robes. I wouldn't even mention it but if you're going to pay $290 (with 20% auto gratuity) for a 50 min massage, the amenities had better blow my mind. That's the reason I can't give this spa 5 stars. Everything looked and felt outdated. Simply upgrading the blow dryers would elevate the value. Now for the best part, my massage. Roberto my therapist gave me a heavenly massage. From start to finish he made sure I was comfortable and didn't put the hurt on me like most massage therapist do even when I specify not to much pressure. I'm wimpy when it comes to deep tissue. He gave me just the right amount of pressure and it was a very relaxing massage. Their spa was absolutely stunning when walking in and their service was impeccable. The steam room was a great starter and was very well kept and felt great before a massage. It worked at clearing out sinuses and loosening up the muscles for an upcoming massage. They also have a sauna room which look great but skipped that and did a quick shower which felt great to freshen up before the massage. Desirae was my masseuse and she was very calming and did a great deep tissue massage with essential oils that were heated and felt amazing. Afterwards, I utilized their large hot tub area to rest and relax the muscles and that was amazing! It allowed yo to relax while overlooking the beautiful Camelback Mountains! Just amazing scenery after a great massage, makes this a great destination. I wish they had a cold plunge station and the waiting room was super crowded while awaiting the massage time. It had been a few years, but I was coming up on a big birthday and wanted to treat myself to a beautiful, relaxing spa experience. I went back to the Phonecian I was able to book an appointment for a massage easily, over the phone. Upon arrival, spa parking is available at no cost in a garage right next to the front entrance. I was greeted so warmly by the staff and they were able to get me checked in at around 10 AM which was a few hours before my massage appointment. I gave myself enough time to enjoy the spa amenities. I've been to many spas in my life, and this has some of the best amenities I've ever experienced. The locker room is kind of small and very busy and crowded so I tried my best to get in and out of there as quickly as possible. There are snacks and beverages provided at no cost. Steam room, sauna, indoor whirlpool with a beautiful view of the mountains. If you go upstairs, you can enjoy a private, rooftop pool with a full menu, cabanas, daybeds, and chairs. Again, tucked into the mountains and nestled right into the beautiful nature of Phoenix. It's very relaxing. I swam for about a half hour and enjoyed a fruit bowl that was delicious. Great service, great quality of food and great menu options. I had Veronica as my massage therapist. She was so sweet. Although it was a custom massage, she really worked into some deep tissue therapy, which is exactly what I needed. She's very strong. She got me some sparkling apple cider and a champagne flute for my birthday since I don't drink alcohol. She was incredible, Ask For Veronica! Overall, I had such a beautiful experience here. I felt so relaxed and peaceful when I left. Altogether I spent about four hours here and it was the perfect amount of time without feeling rushed. This was one of my favorite spas here in the Valley. However, I will say I was disappointed with the food this time! I got the lamb gyro after two or three bites I couldn't finish it. Also, they only have two servers at the pool. For these prices, they should have more people waiting on you. Several of the guests complained about taking a long time to get a cocktail in our service. My massage was pretty good though. Gary was my masseuse and he did a pretty good job. I am used to a more relaxing massage, but this one was good for my circulation. However, Gary didn't give me a cushion when I was faced down as a result my left foot which I have had problems with due to bone spurs in my big toe, ended up in some pain. I had to ask for the cushion to be placed under my feet so that was a little disappointing. The other thing about the massage which may sound strange, but Gary was breathing rather hard. It was a little bit of a distraction to hear the masseuse breathing so hard. Also on the form that I filled out before the appointment I put on there that I wanted a scalp massage. That did not happen so I was a little disappointed with that! The steam room was wonderful and the pool was refreshing. However, the Jacuzzi was not hot enough to me. For these prices, everything should be absolutely outstanding! I got the fire and ice massage with a $40 facial enhancement. With the tip, my bill was $396. I have only gone to a handful of spas in my life but this one was by far the best!!! From beginning to end, it was an amazing experience. If you are visiting from out of town like we did, I recommend booking the treatment you want in advance. We booked a couple weeks before and not sure if it's always busy or if it was because it was Thanksgiving week, a lot of the days and time slots were already filled out 2 weeks out. The staff at the spa was superb from the front desk, the spa attendant that walked us through the facilities, and the massage therapist. One thing that I wasn't aware of at time of booking was that you have access to the spa facilities the whole day on the day of treatment. I got a call from the spa a couple days before the appointment for confirmation of the treatment and was told we had access to the spa facilities all day which I really appreciated. We booked at 11am and came well before our appointment and stayed a bit after our treatment as well. We went up to the pool level after our treatment and got lunch there. There is a nice pool and lounge chairs but it was a bit windy that day so we opted to dine inside and had great service there as well. They have everything there you need: locker, sandals, robe, showers, razors, lotion, comb, hair brush, hair dryer. I love they have a steam room, dry sauna and a large hot tub in both the women and men's room. They also have complimentary water and snacks you can get: chocolate covered coconut, nut mix, and chocolate covered cherries. The only thing I would recommend they do is for the quiet room, there is tea you can get but the hot water is in a portal tea kettle that you may have to heat up that is a bit noisy and not the best place for the quiet/relaxation room downstairs. They should probably move the tea to the area right outside of the quiet room. I felt awkward making noise in the quiet room even though there was only one other person in that room at the time. I didn't take any pictures of the areas where they indicated that no cell phones were allowed which I wanted to respect. Upon arrival, we navigated to a free parking garage and made a short walk to the spa. We were the first to arrive but before we were called for our 1st service, the waiting area was full! We both had the Fire and Ice Massage and a Facial. My massage was fine but it wasn't special considering the price that I paid. My mom really enjoyed hers. On the rooftop level are the pool restaurant and outdoor pool. Service at the spa was great. One thing I will say is that it can get a bit crowded in there, we avoided some of the amenities at first because there were too many people, wish they booked less appointments so it wouldn't be so crowded. Overall would definitely come back for a special occasion again, pricey $$$ but worth it. You also have access to fitness classes and their gym the day of your appointment so take advantage of those! The locker rooms and other facility/amenities were the cleanest I have seen at any spa and the staff, particularly Maria, was incredibly helpful! Perfect spa day! I scheduled a spa day for my fiancé & I for Christmas. The Phoenician definitely exceeded my expectations. For starters, the spa is immaculate. The locker room area was spotless, not a towel out of place. The steam room, sauna & hot tub worked perfectly. The view of the mountain from the hot tub towering behind the resort was absolutely stunning. My massage from Michaelyn was perfect. She applied the right amount of pressure and also gave me some great advice for reducing tension in my neck/shoulders. My fiancé thoroughly enjoyed the infused water in the quiet room. The chocolate covered cherries were some of the best I have ever tasted. After our massages, we hit the rooftop pool for lunch. Our food was incredibly flavorful and was the right portion for us. Although it was to chilly for us to take a dip, the pool was heated and a few guests dipped their toes in the water. I had really high expectations for this spa and the amount of money I spent, I'm really disappointed. The initial walk in was fantastic but once you're actually there and using the amenities you realize it's not worth the money. I received an 80 min massage for $350 and they automatically include a 20% gratuity. The massage was okay...I've had way better massages for $60 at the Thai spot I go to. I decided to try the hot tub room & the entire area was a mess. Water all over the floor, dirty footprints, a balled up towel, the water was disgusting...I got in for 2 seconds looked around & realized I needed to get out immediately. So I went to the pool & everything was reserved or taken which was frustrating. They only had one waitress who was running all over nonstop I felt so bad for her. Best spa experience I've had in a very long time. The huge facility felt like a getaway from our Phoenician hotel getaway. There is a sauna, a steam room, a big warm hot tub, a pool on the rooftop, and a quiet room where you can take naps and have tea. Two girlfriends and I booked a 50 min massage, Cher was absolutely amazing and the sweetest person. She literally cured my legs from my camelback mountain hike. The staff from front desk, to locker attendants and my massage therapist were AMAZING. They were kind, courteous, and patient which supported the zen feel of the spa. They are not the reason for the lower rating. The reason I give them a 3.5 is because of the other clients. Unfortunately during my visit there were a few very chatty pairs which made the sauna and steam rooms not relaxing at all and actually very awkward. The change room at times also felt as loud as a public pool change room. I was a little shocked at the lack of etiquette and awareness... I understand that spa days may be an outing for some- and I love that- but let's try to maintain our whisper/inside voices so that those on their own are able to enjoy the amenities as well without needing to hear all your drama. read more

The facility is massive, multiple levels with room to escape and hide in the quiet room and read or be at the relaxing rooftop pool. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were getting the most out of our experience there. It rained that day and the staff made sure to give us extra special treatment to make up for the lack of sunshine. Some of the front staff has changed, but the main guy, Jed, is still there and he always remembers me and says hi and is so welcoming and friendly. Paula also always remembers me and takes care of me in the locker room. She is genuinely so nice and caring. Always offers to dry your bathing suit and/or give a bag. Constantly cleaning the showers. Man, I feel bad whenever I take a shower cuz the mat always gets soaked and it's heavy to lift so I started taking it up myself to put in the dirty bin. Can you imagine bending down and lifting that heavy wet towel every day multiple times a day?! Still love taking fitness classes with Wade. My arms are always sore after so I know I got a good workout. He remembers my face, but he always gets my name wrong lol. There's this new workout on the paddle board at the upstairs pool with him and boy do my hamstrings hurt after, but what a great workout. That one is extremely hard to get into on Saturdays cuz usually a birthday or bachelorette group books all the open spots. I feel like if you have a group, they should book a separate time beforehand and pay for that private session cuz that isn't fair to other people attending the spa and wants to join, but whatever. Can't make everyone happy, right? The pool and sever attendants have gotten much better with their service. One actually apologized to me cuz she didn't setup the towels for me on the chairs and was like it's normally not like that here and I'm like, I know girl--it's all good! Food is still yummy. As far as the crowd, it's definitely busier on weekends. You have some people that know how to act in a spa and some that don't, including the use of the communal steam room/sauna and pool upstairs. Some bad etiquette include people on speaker phone or big groups just yapping away and being loud. I get they are enjoying themselves, but you can tell they have no consideration for other's peace and quiet. If no one else is there, by all means. But when someone enters, just enjoy the quiet time. How often do we get quiet times? Thats why most people go to the spa--to relax. read more

4 stars for this spa. They do not have valet, and you have to park in the parking garage and walk a little bit to get to the spa. Once I arrived I was greeted by a man who immediately looked me up and confirmed my appointment. I was brought upstairs by the friendly staff. The massage overall was a 7.5 out of 10. I think the girl was new and nervous. She was very kind tho - after my massage I went to the rooftop pool which I was told was only for spa users. The pool was on the smaller size and had LOTS of bugs in the pool. Definitely needed a skim. The downstairs spa area was very clean and tidy. read more

I had a lovely experience here recently for a massage. The massage table was one of the nicest and most comfortable that I have experienced, and it was heated. My therapist also used a warm neck pillow and eye mask, which was very cozy. The facility is clean and well-kept. There are separate steam rooms, saunas, and hot tubs for both ladies and men, plus a pool for everyone upstairs. Things ran smoothly from check-in until I left, and I had a relaxing time. This spa was amazing to say the least. The only issue I had was when I checked in there was a booking error. But they soon after made up for it. 100% I came in for the scrub and massage but could only do the massage. The massage was done by Bre and she was so welcoming and gave me the best massage and knew exactly where I was having most tension. Definitely the best massage I've had in a while. After the massage went down for a steam bath and the hot tub. The view was beautiful and the spa was perfect. The staff working in women's locker room were so sweet and helpful patty and Paula. And I finished with the pool. Ordered the steak kabob and a mango smoothie. The food was so good the meat was cooked so good. And my mango smoothie was perfect. The pool staff were also awesome. Came to Arizona for my birthday by my best friend and boyfriend to celebrate and she mentioned a girls day spa and decided to try this place. Wow is all I have to say! When you walk in there is a DryBar next door, super convenient and it's so pretty walking in. They give you a tour of the place, offer you your own locked lockers, slippers, and a robe! They have everything you would need - tampons, hair products, hair styling products, towels, combs, brushes, etc. They have all the amenities you'd like in a spa. Fresh water with cucumber and I believe mint, they had little snacks next to that to enjoy and cold cloths next to the spa section for the steam room, sauna, and hot tub. They even have a written homemade spa you can do when you're there to get the most out of your relaxation and body wellness! The hot tub view is gorgeous, you can see the mountains from inside while relaxing it just makes you at peace! I went in for a full body massage, I got the hot and cold one. My massage therapist was AMAZING! I felt so refreshed and rejuvenated after my massage! The place and massage room was really clean and the staff was friendly! The rooftop was a nice touch to explore too. The pool was nicely sized and they have comfortable seating and an umbrella to avoid the hot sun on you. They have waiters that come and take your order for drinks and food as well which was a nice touch when you spend the whole day there (we were there from noon to 5pm). They seemed to be a bit understaffed with that, it took a while for them to come and take our order, but when they did the drinks were good and food. We had the pina colada with a splash of rum on top. - yummy! Also, loved that they had water everywhere! Hydration was definitely key here and I appreciated that! If you're looking for the special treatment for your birthday, a relaxing spa day, or something romantic this place was amazing to go to! I was gifted a massage for my birthday and it was an incredible experience. Everyone I encountered was as lovely as can be - from the front desk staff, to the locker room attendants, to my massage therapist. Mike did my CBD massage and not only was every element of the massage perfect, but I also felt very comfortable and at ease with his energy and our conversation flowed effortlessly. The small but significant detail that really made this experience for me was that, when being shown to my locker, the attendant immediately and without a word switched out the robe that was waiting in the locker for me with a larger one from a different room. As a larger bodied person, there are so many times when the standard garments offered do not accommodate me comfortably and that could have really ruined an otherwise perfect experience. It was wonderful to have that need taken care of without even having to ask. For anyone else wondering about robe size - the robe I was given was labeled 4x and was the coziest thing I've ever had on my body. read more

WOW. So this place is brand new with three stories and it has a rooftop pool. It also is rated four stars by Forbes, to give a sense of how luxurious it is. Our check in experience was wonderful with Wayne, who recapped our services and introduced us to someone to show us to the locker room. The spa is set up in a way that you don't have to think about anything. For example in the showers, there was a towel, washcloth, pre packaged razor and shaving cream already there. In the lockers there was a tray for jewelry and a bag for your wet swimsuit. Small touches like those made all the difference. Not to mention, there were plenty of perfectly folded towels available everywhere. The relaxation area, sauna, steam room, and whirlpool jacuzzi area were all immaculate and top tier. As a heads up, these facilities are gender specific, not co-ed. I was lucky to have Suzella as my massage therapist. She was kind and consultative the whole time I was in her care. I got the Sonoran Scrub, Wrap and Massage and it was heavenly. I felt secure and safe with the way I was covered/draped. Not once, did I feel uncomfortable. I fell asleep multiple times, which had never happened to me before. I was 100% relaxed. read more

I was BACK at the beautiful Phoenician Spa for a massage today. First the massage was in a large room with the most advanced table I've ever experienced. Bre is an amazing massage therapist I've known for years and made the experience match the superior environment. After treatment head to the rooftop pool for delicious cocktails (try the Electric Lemonade) and really fine lunches (fish tacos). Make sure to seek out Brandon on the pool deck for all the best service as well. This place is residing at the TOP of my list for Phoenix Spas and I suspect it will remain so.
