My experience was a roller coaster, and when I got off the ride, I wasn't happy that I took it. Let me tell you about it. I bought a vinyl plotter - think a Cricut, except it's big, stands up, and can cut vinyl up to 48" wide. Because I bought this machine, I needed some computer stuff that would assist me with both cutting and designing the vinyl decals I wanted to make. A friend at work told me about her iPad she bought, and used an Apple Pencil to design with. I'm not an Apple person at all, but realized it might be a good investment for me. I went into The Phone Guys in Renton, because I was working nearby, and it was convenient. I told the guy who was working there (the receipt says Rolando V., though the credit card receipt says Tran Nguyen) exactly what I wanted - an ipad that I could use to do some design work, and I wanted to be able to use the pencil for my design. Note that I came into a store that heavily advertises iPads on OfferUp, so that I could talk to a pro and get what I want. "Rolando" asked what my price range was, told me he didn't have any older models in that range, and I was willing to go up more than $100 over what I saw on the website. I was okay with that. In the end, I got a 5th gen iPad for about $200, but didn't get the pencil I wanted, because they were out of stock. I was told I could get it at Best Buy. No biggie, I could also order from Amazon and have it arrive the next day, which I did. Then the pencil arrive about 9am, and I was excited to try it out on my new iPad I spent last night setting up and buying software for! Spoiler: the pencil doesn't work with 5th gen iPads. I didn't worry too much about it, because it was less than 24 hours since I bought it, and I'm sure they'll let me trade it up for the new model, which will work for it! I even went back to the store in Renton, which was now an extra 20 minute drive longer than the closest "The Phone Guys", but I didn't care - this was where I got it from, and they'd totally understand. Fast forward to when I got there. It was busy, there were a few people ahead of me, but I was okay waiting. Finally, upon my turn, I explained what happened, and was promptly told there would be a 20% restock fee. I was shocked... I bought this device upon the recommendation of the person working there, that knew exactly what I wanted to do. Additionally, I wasn't returning it, I was wanting to exchange up to a newer model! I was even willing to upgrade to a device about $100 more, since it would have been a good investment! Didn't matter, whoever this guy was said he needed to talk to his manager, and started typing on his keyboard. Less than a minute later he told me he couldn't do anything about it, but his manager would let him do a 10% restock charge instead. I was ready to cut my $40 loss and just leave, but decided I'll just suck it up to lose $20, and get something that would work. I still wanted to upgrade 2 generations, but when he brought it out, it was $50 more than the one on their website. The reason: it is a cellular device, and costs more. He did knock a few dollars off, and I ended up taking it, but between the restock fee and the cellular upcharge, I still ended up about $70 more than what I should have spent. Lastly, HE WOULD HAVE SOLD ME A PENCIL I COULDN'T USE! And would have had an extra $10-20 restock. I currently have it on OfferUp for the price I paid (excluding restock charge/tax), and I'm going to try and sell it to be able to put toward the one I want. I have a 6th gen device, but was willing to spend the extra money to get an 8th or 9th gen, but I was so frustrated I just wanted to get out of this store. The worst part is I may end up having to buy the one I want through them, since they have so many for decent prices, and if I order online I won't feel pressured to get what is there without features I need, since I drove an hour to get there. Last, "Vick" texted me asking how my device was working. I told him it was fine, but my experience sucked, and he's left me on read ever since. Thanks Vick. I texted him again tonight saying something like, "I can see you don't really care what I think", but with more words and not as nice! p.s. I see from Yelp that I'm definitely not the only one who feels this way. Wish I would have read the Yelp reviews instead of the Google reviews, which seem much more positive. Edit: adding this real quick - the first time I went it, I wasn't explained to that I couldn't return without a 20% restocking fee, but because had issues with "H. Vuong" when I tried to return and trade up, this guy made sure I initialed the return and condition policy. I would like to point out that the line about returns says "Customer may return the merchanidise within 7 days. 20% restocking fees may apply (changed mind)". I wouldn't think that since I didn't change my mind, but rather didn't get what I asked for, that the "may" apply part would be applicable here.

"We are so sorry about that post. My employee post a wrong price." Messaged us that right when we got inside the store

Very misleading return policy. Quoted at three days but in actuality it's just two. There's no reason for this deceptive practice.

Doing research, I found shops online that you could mail your phone to and they had the best pricing. My problem with that, was being without my phone for 7-10 days. When I started looking around on yelp, many shops had great reviews, but their prices were ridiculous. You can buy a battery for $25 on eBay or Amazon, it's a 30-minute service, So anyone charging you 3 figures is ripping you off. Especially when you consider as a business, you probably buy batteries by the dozen and probably pay closer to $15 each. Service took 45 minutes, cost me $80. I didn't have to mail anything or go without my phone for a week. Honestly, I only have one knock for these guys, they don't appear to want you in the store. I would have much rather liked to take a seat and wait for my device than be booted and asked to come back in 40 minutes. Funny enough, I had just grabbed a bite, had I known I couldn't wait, I would have dropped the phone first then grabbed my bite to pass the time. Either way, they get 5 stars. The price and service were as close to flawless as you can expect.

This happened just hours after I posted the negative reviews on google and yelp. Account harassing me: IG username: marleneespacio Only following ONE PERSON... phone factory! Commenting heinous and disturbing messages under my IG photos! SCREEN GLITCH PROOF ATTACHED. Pay very close attention to the screen recordings. I slowed them wayyyy down so you can see how when I press a letter (which becomes dark upon pressing), and what pops up in the text box doesn't always match. What you press on my screen does not register and acts like you pressed somewhere else entirely, or duplicates your action. I also screen recorded the capcut editing app unable to function and scroll, rather spastically twitches and becomes unresponsive to my touch. These are just examples of what I'm experiencing with my phone screen as a whole. Original Review: Dishonest, scammer business. I had a terrible experience here. I came in with a cracked iPhone screen and was offered a $150 aftermarket screen replacement. After the replacement, the phone screen seemed to work fine initially, but later that afternoon my phone started glitching--bright fuzzy screen flashes, lagging, texting and scrolling issues and unresponsive apps. It became nearly unusable off and on. My entire life and career is in my phone, being that I'm a content creator and commercial realtor. It has made my work extremely difficult and frustrating. I purchased on a Saturday, Sunday they were closed, and I called them Monday to address the issue. Phone Factory acted angry and defensive with me (and even YELLED), like I have an ulterior motive and am causing them problems although I benefit NOTHING from returning a defective phone screen?? I still have to purchase a new screen..... it's not my fault the phone screen is defective... this is basic customer service. I was told there was a 30-day warranty on my purchased screen at time of purchase, but when I called, Sam lied to me and told me there was only a 2-day warranty and I couldn't bring it in although I was originally told 30 days. Then the manager later confirmed it was a 30 day warranty after all. I wanted to email screen recording proof of the glitching to the manager, but he refused and said I had to come in person. I explained to him it's a 2-hour drive round trip and I rather not drive all the way out there to show him screen recordings unless we also reach an agreement so I can also switch the screen if I'm to drive all the way there. I felt he was making it unnecessarily difficult. They offered to apply the $150 toward an original Apple screen, but refused any kind of exchange, return, or warranty on the new screen. I felt uncomfortable purchasing another phone screen from them without an exchange or return warranty after I already purchased a defective phone screen from them and have been treated cruelly over a PHONE SCREEN. I said, "I must have an exchange or return option on the new Apple screen, which shouldn't be a problem since it will be a quality screen, right?" He refused. Now, I have to eat the $150 I spent on this after-market screen and go pay full price for a new Apple screen because I won't buy another phone screen without a warranty from this business. I'm completely disappointed by the lack of transparency, poor product quality, and customer service. Save your money and go somewhere reputable. I now have to pay even more to fix what they messed up. There is good reason why they don't get much business. Don't risk it. If you have any issues they will treat you terribly.

By 10pm I noticed that the phone wouldn't charge anymore, not through wire, not through wireless charging. I am a business owner and I need my phone all the time, so I was pretty freaked out. We looked around and found this guy, iDriveToYouFixIt, apparently open until 11pm. On a FRIDAY NIGHT, at 10.30pm, this guy drove across two neighborhoods to meet me at my house. Grabs my phone and goes to his car, opens and diagnoses it on the spot, comes back and let's me know that just a little contact to the battery had fallen off. Not a broken battery or charging port or anything worse as I feared, but just this little thing. So he goes and fixes that right there, clears out some gunk around the front camera (that had apparently built up from a previous front glass repair at a crappy repair shop), cleans up the charging port while he's at it, and replaces the back plate with a brand new one, all within 45 minutes - and hands me back a fully functioning, in fact improved phone and then charges Uber Reasonably!! Instant fat tip, instant mega appreciation, and 5 star review. I couldn't tip as much as I wanted but trust me, I'll leave 5 star reviews everywhere and drum up his business as much as I can and make all my friends and family use his service, he deserves it.
