We were looking for a place to eat pretty late and ended up at Miller's Ale House. It was okay. Service was very friendly and at 9:30 pm on a Wednesday night it was pretty busy. I had the wings special. 12 for $11.99. I picked at the wings because the garlic parm sauce made the wings look funky. They were cooked inside but the skins were not so crispy. Millers has really good fish and the chips (fries) were ok. The fries (chips) were a little too salty for my taste. I prefer not to have to glug beer or water or both while eating fries. First of all, don't let them seat you in the tables next to the smoking area. We had to deal with cigarette smoke our whole meal as dozens kept coming in and out of the smoking area. The food is average; definitely not worth the price. Service was average, as well. Refills were hard to come by and I don't know why restaurants bring the appetizers and main course at the same time! Absolutely terrible service. We waited over 15 minutes for a server and only because we had to go back to the hostess to ask for the server did she finally come to our table. We ordered our toddlers for first only for our drinks and appetizers to still come for her food which n only came again because we flagged the server over once again after waiting 25 mins for her food. When it finally came, I asked to speak to the manager and the server instead of placing our toddlers food on the table, walked away to get the manager with her food !!! So for 40 mins our child got nothing to eat ! Christy needs to not be a server because she clearly is incapable of customer service but also lacks common sense and empathy! After the issue was spoken to with the manger, the server comes to her other table with attitude because of us asking for her manager. If you're traveling and looking for dinner, Miller's Ale House, is usually a dependable restaurant to dine at. There's one near us in NJ and last week we stopped at one in Tallahassee. I was disappointed they didn't have the Goose Island IPA on the menu, but I did enjoy the Founders IPA. We started off with appetizers of the Bavarian pretzel and spinach dip. The chips with the dip were stale, but our server brought us fresh ones. The kids enjoyed the chicken zingers. My wife and I had zingers with Mac and cheese. I tried the Pork Osso Buco. Normally, its like a stew braised shank with bone marrow. This dish is finished in a deep fryer, so it's not served in a stew base. In Los Angeles, this is called Carnitas. I don't think I could call this Osso Buco, but maybe Otro Buco which means Other Buco. The service was good. I would come back next time in Tally. read more

We enter the Miller's ale house today at 6 pm. The restaurant was empty except for couple of tables and several people at the bar. I had a party of 7 and waited to be seated. The manager on duty stated that she couldn't seat us until 20 minutes later. What? She never gave any explanation why we couldn't be seated when the restaurant was empty. Make a long story short, we sat outside and combined two tables together to accommodate all of us. If the food and service was good, I could overlook the accommodation issue. Instead of all entrees coming out at one time, it came in three waves And the appetizer came after last entree. On top of all that, two entrees had shrimp missing with their steaks, which was both overcooked. The nachos I ordered was the worst I ever ate. It consisted of several days old guacamole, days old chicken, and flavorless queso. Don't expect much but an effort to be accommodating, getting orders correct, appetizers served before entree, and food that's edible is a must! The worst experience in a long time! read more

Absolutely the worst millers ever. Food came out wrong, over cooked. Mac and cheese was different colors because it was old. One burger was raw, the other was a hockey puck and missing cheese. When we asked for the burger to be replaced with a cheeseburger they just took it back and added a cold slice of cheese. The side of fruit was 3 slices of oranges that looked like lemons. My buddy and I visited Miller's last night 11/21/24. MIllers was a bustling restaurant over the years last night the place was about 1/3 occupied. When we came in the front to door and asked for a high top table we were told by the hostess we couldn't be seated there because they had a new bar tender. WHAT? So unless the bar tenders duties are to take orders or serve orders of food, what the heck does THAT have to do with it? As I my have figured out quickly, the reason we couldn't be seated there was MAYBE because of a lack of wait staff. But even THAT didn't make a bit of sense. Customers are customers, right? So The high tops are near the middle of the restaurant so there were people sitting on the far sides of the restaurant on both sides of the high tops. So we got seated where we didn't want to sit. As for the food, I ordered blackened chicken and shrimp over a salad. Neither the shrimp or the chicken were blackened. No one could say they were so busy they just slipped up. No, the reason is because the cooks were incompetent, lazy , poorly trained, or they didn't have the blackening spices. When I told a senior person who came to our table to get the dishes, he asked how things were. I told him the problem of the food and he tried to act surprised tho I didn't get the feeling he was. I didn't bother getting to the high top tables issue. Our waiter did a pretty good job serving us so no complaints there. Bottom line is, this restaurant may be on the ropes. I don't know if the current management is there to save the place or is there to escort the failure of the restaurant but either way it doesn't look good. I predict this store will be closed within a year unless they start act like a professional restaurant. read more

I went to Millers for the first time tonight with my parents. We were sat quickly and the waiter was very friendly. I really enjoyed the fries and broccoli. The only thing holding me back from giving a five star review was the steak was a luke warm at best. I personally found it warm enough to eat but I know not everyone would. It had really good seasoning and was cooked well, it just seems it might've been sitting out before it was served to me. Overall, I would definitely recommend Millers. There was no one there when we first sat down, we finally got a drink and a different person took our food order. They obviously have changed managers, to their detriment. I have stopped going inside as my earlier review stated. The great curb-service, formerly the #1 curb service in Tallahassee .... the wheels have fallen off the wagon. It's being dragged up the hill with one wheel and a 2 broken axles. They previously were OUTSTANDING!! Twice they were bringing your food to you before I put my vehicle in park - - seriously. Now after you sit .... Notify them you've arrived ..... Sit longer ..... Notify them again .... You notice vehicles that were there when you pulled up, have gone inside to get their food. You go in and there are bags of food sitting over on the counter to your right. You start to look for your phone, find it and someone comes up and asks what's up??? You tell them you ordered curb service and no one brought your food out. They make no comment, no apology, no thank you ..... they just walk off. This is in acceptable as I notice three other curb service customers had followed me inside. The fries were cold.... The zingers were hard and crispy (ugh) The wings meaty & still good I passed 4-5 wing spots with tenders just and for a better price and with better service. Been eating at Miller's for years and like the food and service. Especially like the fresh salads, Osco Bucco, and fried shrimp. Convenient location and hours. Service is excellent. My only complaint is the same I have for a lot of long-time Tallahassee restaurants. Atmosphere is old, greasy, and from the late fern-bar era. Needs an update bad. I realize that is not the local manager's fault, but a corporate decision; but if enough of us bring it to their attention, perhaps we can at least get a deep-clean and some fresh paint. So, we went to Millers ale house for the prime rib special on Father's Day. Arrived at 1:15 and ordered 5 different items. Order Number 1, a zinger salad with mild sauce. Arrived with medium spicy sauce. Too hot for me. Sent back for a re-do. Order number 2, kids shrimp...great! Order number 3, kids zingers, just ok. Number 4, zinger salad with hot sauce! Perfect. NOW WE come to the problem. Order number 5 was a RARE prime rib special. When it arrived the meat was gray...not rare. Very much well done. Sent back, the second try was even more well done. All the answers were, we ordered too late. I'm wondering if you have a special, why don't you have it all day. We ended up with a poor exchange for the prime rib with a Philly cheese steak rather than the anticipated prime rib. Not such a great Father's Day dinner (grandad). Sad day! We go to Miller's frequently. Big fan of the meatloaf, prime rib, a sirloin steak and shrimp special. Side salad with ranch always good. Last couple orders seems the vegetable medley was like almost why bother. I really like them and next time will make a point of asking for what would be a reasonable sized side serving. The mashed potatoes have almost gotten back to being as good as they use to be as in the red skin was there and they weren't so thin they poured all over the plate. read more

We will be going back in the near future between Thursday & Tuesday because that's when they are working the outside patio bar. Stopped in for a lunch bite and a brew on a Saturday afternoon. This place is located on a boulevard so access from the eastbound direction requires you make a U-turn. The parking lot seemed adequate. There are plenty of tables and booths. And there are TV monitors throughout the place. There's a nice, big horseshoe bar...where I opted to eat. The bartender was nice and attentive. I ended up just getting the Loaded Cheese Fries and a brew. Now the plate of fries was a little lacking in quantity. But they did taste good. I ordered a tall draft brew. With taxes, a little over $19. Now in my experience (including Hawaii), that's fairly high. I've dined at a MAH before and don't recall the prices being this high. I guess times are a changing! I like the atmosphere of this place, but am a little disappointed with the prices. read more

Last time I was here was about 4 yrs ago, give or take a year. I understand it's under new management now. We arrived around 7:30 pm and there was a good crowd there, the staff did an excellent job of waiting on their customers, I never saw anyone standing idle, had a seat where I could watch the flow of the back of the house. We had the calamari which was nice and tender, portions a bit small compared to other establishments, the dipping sauce a bit too sweet and is more appropriate for something heavier like wings. I had the teriyaki meat with pot stickers, both on skewers with veggies and rice on the side. The rice had corn kernels and parsley and a light taste of lime, a wonderful flavor that I had never had before. The meat has a great char to it, cooked medium, but the dipping teriyaki sauce was not good. I used the sauce that came with the calamari instead. A homemade teriyaki sauce would be so much better than the gallon premade sauce they used. All in all it's a good restaurant if you're not fussy. read more
