We made our way from the lake and were looking for a place that served sandwiches and salads. We stumbled across West Coast Sourdough, and the reviews convinced us to give it a try. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! We had a large group, but we were helped quickly. The cashier even rearranged the tables so we could all sit together, which was such a thoughtful touch. Everyone ordered something different, and every meal was fresh, delicious, and made just the way we wanted. The clam chowder was so good it was gone before I could even snap a picture! The dining area was spacious, the bathrooms were clean, and the music wasn't too loud, making for a comfortable atmosphere. What keeps me coming back is their sourdough baguette sandwiches. On this occasion I ordered the Rueben, thinly sliced pastrami with a house sauce, Dijon, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese served toasted on a sourdough baguette. The sandwich was pretty filling (4 inch sandwich) and the bread was very fresh. I also sampled the Clam Chowder which included a slice of their sourdough baguette. The clam chowder was served piping hot and had nice chunks of potatoes. Some crumbled bacon would have been a nice finishing touch. I also ordered their signature Lemon White Chip Cookie which tasted freshly baked, it had a zesty, soft-baked, muffin-like texture. These cookies incorporate sourdough discard, lemon, white chocolate, and a hint of coconut, resulting in a sweet and tangy flavor profile. They are a popular, all-natural treat. The service was great and cashier took the time to answer a couple of questions. The restaurant wasn't busy with folks eating in the restaurant but they did have lots of takeout orders. I've been wanting to try West Coast Sourdough and I finally made it in. The only thing I knew is that sandwiches all come on sourdough rolls. I was all in. Their sourdough originates from a mother dough from 1995 and is 100% natural and preservative free. I ordered the 8" BLT which was made with delicious ingredients and the amazing bread. It was the perfect late lunch. Service was friendly and helpful in customizing my sandwich. The restaurant was spotless. The interior is a very nice size and features outdoor seating. I ordered a drink and when I went to get it I got some Sweet Tea but it didn't taste right. So I poured it out and got some and tasted it. It tasted watered down. So Taj tasted the Tea and he said it didn't taste right. So he offered me a Gold Peak Sweet Tea. This was great customer service. I wish I could honestly rate them 3.5 stars. The Resturant is very clean inside. The sandwiches are very tasty especially on that fresh sourdough bread. Best clam chowder in Tulare. For a fast food place, I would come here over a trip further out. The sourdough bread is delicious, especially if you get it toasted. Warm and perfect crunch. The French dip was amazing, my whole family just dipped all the sandwiches into the hot au jus. My only complain would be the meat portion are skimpy, more on smaller side, so I would totally recommend the $1 extra meat upgrade. The owner (I think that was him lol) came around and asked all the customers if they were happy with their meal, if everything was hot and to our liking. If you like sourdough, this is the place! We shared a cracked pepper turkey sandwich that had a good amount of meat and all their usual fixings except mustard. It wasn't missed because their own sauce seemed to have a little kick, though that might have been the pepper in the turkey, which seemed subtle but was recognizable. Everything looked new and clean, including the bathroom, and there are both indoor and outdoor seating options. We liked that the server brought the sandwich to us (though I'm not sure they do that if they're busier) and noticed that we hadn't yet picked up the chips that were part of our combo. Later, another staff person came to make sure everything was okay. I had a few small issues. We love sourdough, but not everyone does, so it might be nice if they offered another bread option as well. If they do, I didn't notice it on the menu. The order taker didn't pay quite as much attention to what I was saying as he should have, so I had to repeat some things. And the prices seem a little high. But those are all small things that may be due mostly to it being new, and none would keep us from going back again. read more

Pulled up to West Coast Sourdough here in Tulare and right away I could tell they cared. Staff already had gloves on, ready to go no messing around, just clean and professional.
