The second staff member that was more into the counter and store offered to help us if we needed anything. The two staffers didn't give us a welcoming feeling at all, perhaps they are both shy? This is the only shop that offers an all caramel fudge block. They don't offer an extensive amount of fudge, but they have a ton of popcorn and taffies. An entire wall of different flavored taffies. The caramel fudge is unique and only available here. I do enjoy caramel flavored candies. Caramels make everything a lot yummier. Their caramel and cheese popcorn kernels are quite sizable and very tasty. Their caramel fudge is different, let it melt in your mouth some. The taffies are quite a variety of flavors. Some are really good, the caramel apple is right on the money. Some have hints of flavors, but aren't as distinguishable. This is the same taffy sold at Joann's, since the packaging is exactly the same. The assortment of dark chocolates are decent. Their cheese and caramel popcorn are both good.

It tastes almost exactly like the filling in a pumpkin pie! It's kind of crazy. In case you didn't know: Fudge freezes beautifully. The person behind the counter offered that bit of information when I was debating whether or not to buy a couple of boxes of fudge to take home. When I got home, I put the boxes of fudge into a freezer bag and left them in the freezer for two months. After defrosting for a day, they sliced up just as fresh as if I had bought them that day. Also kind of crazy. If you're lucky, you'll get to see the workers make fudge on the marble slabs. They do it so proficiently that it's mesmerizing to watch them work. It's cool to see a puddle of sugar and flavoring turn into a solid mass of candy. Crazy! Along with many different flavors of fudge, you'll find other candies and sweet treats like truffles, taffy, toffee, peanut butter cups, and many others. The people who work here are also super friendly! You can tell they love their product and are proud of what they create. That's so nice to see.

Ultimately, opted for the dark chocolate walnut cherry fudge: three of my favorite things combined into one glorious block of fudgy goodness. The dark chocolate made it so that it was not as sweet as the other fudge flavors; the cherry added some sweet and tartness; and the walnuts added texture to the mix. The fudge was still good after a week. We were told to leave it at room temperature for up to two to three weeks and after that, it can be frozen. It didn't last that long. Whatever you do, DO NOT REFRIGERATE IT as it dries out the fudge. They have live fudge and peanut brittle demonstrations, so of course, the place always smells amazing. Feel free to check out the other fudge shops (there are so many). Each one seems to have different flavors. Overall, we were happy with our fudge purchases from Joann's.

Well, you're S.O.L., my friend. Luckily, my kids like ice cream, so we headed to Sanders because it was basically across the street from our hotel. They got a milkshake and a scoop of chocolate ice cream in a cup (their standard orders), and they were happy with their treats. But if you're looking for some other kinds of ice cream treats, they also have sundaes and things of that nature. Sanders also has a whole case of chocolate goodies, like peanut clusters, coconut clusters and pecan clusters (they seem to like their clusters here); chocolate-covered Rice Krispie Treats; truffles and peanut butter cups and toffee; caramel apples; and lots more. Oh, and fudge. But honestly, I would get fudge somewhere else that isn't a chain. There are lots of fudge places on the island. That's the thing: Sanders is a chain. But it's a Michigan chain, and originated in Detroit, so it's kinda local. Nevertheless, it's a good place to pop into to find something sweet to eat.

The popcorn looks decent, not sure if they would be good enough to last for my team next week though. Ended up grabbing a bite or of water and chamomile brewed tea with carbonated water in a can. $7.60
